Are these things boss mobs? Or can a duo take one down? If I see one should I call upon a full group of raid strength to go after it?
Well, I just saw my first event mob. It was a red dragon looking thing. I think it was bugged as I silenced it and then proceeded to use half my mana to kill it. didn't really get any drops per se. got about 18k in adena and around 58,000 xp.

Nope, that's not a bug. They are all multiple xp mobs and they hardly drop anything. The good news is that if you survive, you can earn pretty good xp. I'm not saying hunting them is mana efficient. It's not. But at least the event developers didn't screw us completely.

The part that I thought was bugged (and I must have been tired becasue for some reason what I was thinking was never mentioned in my post. the power of my mind is not so much!) was that it never attacked me. Just stood there all silenced, and, uh... red.

Last night some clannies and i meet up with a nasty bunch out side of aden. The RB ember was there even our raidboss farmer clan wouldent show up for them. The stuff was a goot 15+ lvl's higher than me and dang if it wernt all resist to fire. We got some ewb and l2 scrools but its nothing fun not worth the 6-8 deaths our party experienced for killing blood red mobs that blow up and hit you for 3 k damage with full buffs
Lol I did one with my newest reroll. The boss was 33, but I'm only 17 :D. I was in a group with 25+'s though. The drops were great for me. I got 2 stage 5 crystals, 6 acumen scrolls, and 2 ead's :D. I was quite happy for a lvl 17. If this was my only character I would of been set till lvl 40 selling the things.
At current market prices (at least what others are advertising for) the event drops i've gotten so far seem to be worth about 7 million. This would be the single best amount of adena i've earned in this game (never even SAW a bunny).
I've taken 2 groups of mobs around the boss solo in this event and took an entire higher group with clanmates. 3 spawns of event mobs for me. I now LOVE L2 events (got a couple of dumb things in the letter campaign even though I farmed 80+ letters).
There was a mob with minions (not the RB) in the IT pit that was wrecking havoc on everybody there. He was red to me at 72 and hit me for 4k dmg. He didn't just do a party wipe; it was pretty much an 'everybody that was there' wipe. I suspect it was mob from Forge of the Gods, and not one I want to encounter again for a while.
