out of couriosity, wich of the tanged classes (HE and SR) is better??
Party wise:
Solo Wise:
does HE get better in high lv? or are they even?
and finaly, ive calculated and lets say that a HE has 48 STR 34 DEX and 34 CON and a SR has 44STR 39DEX and 27CON (tatoo and plated lether set counted for bouth) what would be best?? a massive STR balanced with moderat DEX and CON (HE) or moderat strenght moderat DEX and low CON (SR)
also, i see that HE gets snipe at high lv, what does SR get to compensate that??
well, i guess that was all, ty for answer in advance
SR will solo in high levels a bit better, due to decent self-buffs, but it will be pain. HE, full buffed, is definitely the more effective one of the two, with passive haste, crit power and higher str. HE also has CON to spare for tattoos, if you want to increase, say, crit rate.
HE, on the other hand, gets no slow spell (vs. entangle) and has the slowest run speed of all archers (dash doesn't really count). SR gets no crit power, but crits more often, runs the fastest and has a decent mp regen and average m.def self-buffed (again, vs. no self-buffs for HE, and no m.def passives for either).
In party play with a prophet or shillien elder and maybe a blade dancer HE will outdamage SR fast, but they also have a tendency of making aggro control impossible, so they'll end up tanking a lot.
I don't think the differences between SR and HE are significant. SR crits a bit more, HE has higher patk - in the end you'll hardly notice a difference. All archers pull aggro easily, if you don't play carefully, you'll have to learn how to avoid that in both cases.
Atm, there is no equivalent for the Snipe skill, but if the C5 skill lists are correct, SR and PR will also get a new Lvl 60 Skill in C5.
Another thing to consider looking to C5 is, that HE and PR will get a "body-to-mind"-equivalent, SR won't. I'm really looking forward to this, since mana is always an issue for archers, even with cheap shot. Knowing that, I would definitely not chose SR anymore.
True, run speed of the HE is crappy in low levels, but get yourself a Dex tattoo and a buffer and you'll love your class. After all, nobody plays self-buffed in higher levels anyway.
But in the end, it's all a question of taste, there is no "best". I chose HE back in C1 when everybody said, SR was better, just because I never liked the look of those light elves...
Stop mentioning Crit damage as a positive point on HE's! It doesn't help crits at a10dmg weeell! (+). Focus chance is pretty decent though, both HE and SR has it.
HE will always outdamage an SR with about same setup.
Snipe is a useless skill atm, perhaps it might have some use in C5 with increased range and power, but I doubt it. I'd prefer to have either of the skills that PR and SR get, they sound nifty.
I love my SR and my ability to make everyone eat dust as they chase me. :p
Haha, yes, SR's are a thorn in my butt, I'm a Sagittarius BTW, when they run I have to pray my Hamstring shot lands, or I soe to town and port to intercept them hoping they stay on course, love to see their faces when I suddenly appear in front of them!
Yeh, 9 of 10 times SR's run from me, only other HE's and PR's have the guts to stand and fight 1v1 lol SR's can run, it's their speciality! :p
I agree with previous posters ... an HE without buffs has a rough time. With buffs however, damage output is really very good. I started an HE at the beginning of C3 and enjoy every minute of it. No regrets here. Good Luck. :)
