What should we do?

Player Questions Started Last reply 19 posts
Hi,

I joined this week with a few of my friends (around 6-8 people) the official servers (Hindemith) and after a few days we're a bit in trouble. Most of us did our first classchange and cannot exp good anymore since we're still in NG-equips (some are top) and D-grade is amazingly expensive. If we make a big party we barely get exp (we cannot do raids as well, not enough DDs and hard to find people) and solo is very bad as well.

Does anyone have some tips for us that could help? Or we should try to find a clan that recruits low lvl people or ...?

Looking forward to an answer. Thanks in advance. :)
first of all ia want to say welcome to hindemith, i hope you are here to stay ;)

for your question, the best way to get decent exp/ adena is to duo (2 ppl party) without using ss/sps (soulshot/spiritshot) or healing pots

others then that i dont really have any good tips... oh, yes.. do repeateble quests that give a decent revard, taht might help fill out the purse;)
Manor system :)
How does the Manor System works? And is it useful for more exp and getting better gear? (since those two are most important atm, if I'm not wrong)
The manor system is relatively intuitive if you read the stuff in game screens. You see what seeds are available for your level--buy some--'plant' them by double clicking them b4 attacking mob and then 'harvest them' (have to buy harvester from manor manager too) when mob dies. You collect a bunch of these 'crops' and turn them in where you bought them (times severely restricted). You get items in exchange and can generally sell the items for a profit.

It doesn't effect exp--you would be killing those same level mobs anyway. You just have the opportunity for a 'crop' that can be sold.

As for 'gear'....generally it's better to get best weapon u can afford (not armor 1st). A good ng weapon is okay through lvl 25-26 or so (I used it!) buy which time you should be able to afford a low level d-grade. Bastard swords sell in shops depending on local tax rate for 830k--860k for instance. Doesn't take 2 million to get a d-grade weapon. Sure, the TOP d-sword on my server is up to 3.5-3.8 million right now (clean els)...but the shop sold swords are not. Look for deals on low d-armor when u have the chance--after u have bought weapon. D-grade in shops isn't too out of the realm of possibility.
Do repeatable quests (that give adena) till you could just about die--farm those same mobs via manor--and you'll slowly build adena.
Good luck
Well, xp is going to slow down anyway so that is no big deal.

What you should do is get a few more DD's and maybe try some of the harder hunting spots. People used to go into Cruma in their mid to late 20's so that might be an option (with a large party). Remember. It doesn't matter that you are not getting "a lot" of xp but that you are getting it quickly.

If you get a substantial amount of xp and have to rest a lot or it takes you a minute to kill the mobs then that is not good.

Go for quick, go for fast.

Remember, what is important is that you are having fun. :D
Thanks for your input, though I have another question. In order to enter the Necropolis of Sacrifice, do we have to be registrated at the Dawn-side of Seven Signs? Or does it allow Dusk-regged people too? Or does it work different? Cause the Gatekeeper is not allowing me inside. :(

Lol this just gave me a funny image. Bunch of toons in NG outfit fighting in Cruma, might be occasionaly confused for our automaton buddies :p

Also, what so far hasn't been told is, Manor is a good way to make money. Basically, you buy seeds, and return fruits to the manor guy and he gives you Baisic Materials in return for the fruit.

2 things which aren't mentioned are are:
1) When you manor, the normal drops(however crappy they are) are reduced to 0. You only recieve Adena + Fruit. Which is ok.

2) Not every seed sold by the manor guy is ok. Some are sheer crap(Stems/Thread/Animal Skins/Leather/Silver), which might take forever to sell.
Some are great(Varnish, Iron Ore, Steel, Oriharikon Ore, Crafted Leather, etc). The later will give the best profit for the bang, hell a single Varnish thing on Erica now is going upto 4k. But since these are the best manor items, they are usually sold out, etc, so you have to try and beat everyone else not only in buying the Seeds, but also most importantly in turning them in, so you get your rewards before anyone else.

oops :o Forgot about the NG. Well, they will need to get into some D at least. Do people go inside cruma anymore? What a shame.

NC really didn't plan out it's resources very well.
Another idea - level up a dwarf to 20 or so, and do class change to Artisan. Then put all the useful recipes - coarse bone powder, leather, cokes, steel, varnish of purity, braided hemp and so on - in the recipe book and do a private craft shop in Giran near the other craft shops there. Set prices to 60-100 adena per craft.

I know that many players will laugh now, but I tried this one out for fun&giggles with my lvl 23 alt, just to see how much money you could actually make with it. I let the craft shop run for two nights now, and each night I made about 100k adena, just with these noobie recipes. Many high lvl players want to craft stuff and need TONS of coarse bone powder, varnish of purity and so on, so they walk around and craft on all available crafters.

For a high lvl player 100k per night of course is nothing special. But if a lower lvl player like the OP does this for a week, he will already have the adena for a halfway decent D grade weapon. And you want a dwarf alt anyway to craft your own DSS / D BSpS.

In addition to this - yes, manor plus quests.
Thanks for more info, though my question about Necropolis of Sacrifice isn't really answered yet. :p
Make sure to do all the quests in your hometowns.

Even burning soulshots, you should be able to get to level 20 with 200-300k of adena simply by running quests. You may have a better item already, but those no-grade weapon and armor quests result in items you can sell to the NPC vendors for some much needed money.

If 6-8 of you have 200k, then you can equip some members of your group with d-grade weapons. (Group equipping is very nice provided you can trust the others in your circle of friends to stick to it to equip the rest of you.)

Kill green mobs for ideal hunting. Top no-grade should be plenty powerful for 20-25 vs greens.

Remember, top D grade is not required. You do not NEED Brigadine and its rediculously overpriced helm or top D grade weapons like the elven long sword. Consider them luxuries. The shop holds decent armor and weapons and remember, once you reach D grade nothing is wasted as you can always crystalize and sell crystals or turn them into soulshots. (Hopefully one of you picked Warsmith.)

All of this is ignoring newbie benefits (such as trade-up) as I have never really played with them.
Every second week there´s a competition between Dawn and Dusk.

Basically Dawn = castle owners AND people who are willing to pay the 50k adena fee.
Dusk = the rest

The side who wins has contributed the most seal stones during that competition week, and will have the catacombs/necros for themselves during the "winning" week. And the third week it all starts over again...

Basically.

Dusk has won 3 times out of the latest 5 I think on Lionna. Dunno how the signs are at your server though.
My advice would be to check the seal stone standings by the end of the competition week, join the one who is winning, and grind in cata/necro during the winning week instead. :)
Well, when it's possible to reg at Seven Signs and we sign up for Dusk, will I be able to enter Necropolis of Sacrifice then?
I readed that, but I didn't really understood it, that is why. :p

But thanks. :)

noone understood it when it first started
you should also note that 99% of the time one side will always win (on gustin its dawn) make sure you pick that side
On Hinde, Dawn wins most of the time, but every so often one of the more powerful alliances chooses Dusk and we get a good battle for it.
Um...am i missing something? I don't recall my many times in NOS as providing me with riches. It helped me level faster and i got lots of seal stones solo...at lvl 25 with a gladius or other ng it can be a dangerous place. You use soulshot even for the first rooms, if you're melee you use alacrity pots in there to kill faster, and you can't avoid healpots at 400+ per.
I don't associate the OP's question migrating to NOS with money making..........everything in there will be white or yellow to OP and friends.
Spend time in AC (gludin) with the old mahum quest from leopuld (or whatever his name is near sw gludin gate)...kill hundred of guards, supply mahums, etc. and you'll have more adena than if you go into NOS--my opinion.
