Dorf Crafting and Levels

ive never made a crafter in L2. Im starting to collect a lot of recipes of no-grade and d-grade which are not selling. Im also collecting a lot of low end mats that nobodies buying.

Im considering making a dwarf for the sole purpose of crafting, creating my enchants etc. However, If I am required to level him in order to advance in crafting..Im not interested.

so how does crafting relate to the dorfs level? Can I be..say..level 1 or 10 and craft B-grade items. Do I need to level-grind the crafter in order to craft higher end items?
Look at the recipe's level. At certain levels, dorfs (artisans and warsmiths) get upgrades to their create item skill.
ug.. ok that must mean I have to play a dorf :(

guess i'll keep trying to sell this stuff or hold it til i can get into a clan that can use some of it.
well keep all of your basic mats, however sell any low end main mats to the npc.
Mats are always nice, but most low-level recipes are worth what you can get from an NPC. No-grade, D-grade, and some C-grade items are simply not worth crafting unless they're one of a few specific set-completing items that aren't available from NPC's.
But if you're getting basic mat recipes, such as cord, course bone powder, etc, etc, those sell quite nicely. :)
well, I found a
piece bone breast plate recipe
sword of reflection recipe
compressed spirit shot D recipe

those were what I was wanting to craft. but honestly if I have to play a dwarf to continue crafting even higher items i wont waste my time with it.

thanks for the feedback guys
You should sell all of those to the shop. If you get a DSS or DBSpS rec, those you can sell for more.

Not to be rude, but them rec are worhtless. just sell them to the store for money.

Crafting is one of the harder things to do to make money, cause you have to keep up with the market and know whats hot. and ever that changes with in a day and a week.
Crafting anything other than shots and materials(coarse bone powder, leather, etc.) is not worth the effort until you can start crafting C grade items. At C grade lvl the only thing worth crafting is top C weapons and set completers. As a warsmith you don't really start seeing money making recipes until your in the 50's. Sure you can craft DSS to sell but that takes a lot of money to make any money at all. Average profit per DSS is maybe 1-2 adena. If you don't like playing a dwarf at this point getting it as high as you need to start making money is going to suck the fun right out of the game for you.

And yeah if you ever want to craft stuff don't go selling any basic materials, you have no idea just how much animal bone goes into everything once you start hitting the upper levels.
The thought of crafting 450+ Varnish of Purity tonight is making me very sad. :(

no i know theyre not worth anything, thats why i wanted to make a dwarf to craft the items to begin with.
see im collecting a lot of mats that arent selling and, well as you and I know the recipes arent worth anything. instead of selling em off for a few k-adena I was going to craft them myself with a dwarf crafter.

but I guess I'll not do that :)
I would recommend that you keep stackable mats u get from mobs in your warehouse. Definately keep animal bone (selling 1800+ for each on my server), animal skin, iron, coal, charcoal, varnish--absolutely. Someday when u join a clan your clan's warsmith will really like u even if you don't sell them for a big profit! Keep your mats. It looks like you should sell the varnish for 300a each to the dwarf in the starter towns cause that's more than shop will give you. Once you get to higher towns you'll see for yourself what those mats really sell for (and start kicking yourself).
As for rec's...sell dss recipe overnight in an afk shop for 40-50k (someone will run by and buy it). All those other recs you get everyone else has tons of too. Sell them quickly to an NPC. This starts to get confusing when some "low" recipes have a resale value. Braided hemp is an example.
If you're not sure--put it in your wh for later.
The thing with recipes for ng stuff--even low d-grade....the actual weapons and armor are relatively inexpensive to buy in shop (depending upon tax rate).
Keep your stackable mats in your wh till later. They'll sell for more than you can believe. 100 animal bone = 180,000 adena!
