Still confused about l2

Would someone mind explaining the class system to me? At what lvl can I become a knight->paladin->phoenix paladin? Where are all the people in the game (I haven't found one person in the newbie zones)? On my lvl 6 Orc Fighter all I do is kill two or three kasha wolves and then I have to rest for 2 minutes. Is that how it's going to be through the game? Kill 1 monster, get 2% and then rest for half an hour? And if I bought all the best gear from the weapon and armor shop would I there be alot less downtime?
Pally is a good class, this question how ever should be in "player question forum".

Yes you will have a lot of down time, my sugestion to you is get a secound acc, and make a SE or a prophet on it. SE would be better choise.

Pally is a tank class, and as such you need good armor, that is +++ for more P df. Pally works best on undead mobs cause of the pallys passives.

also the class will be getting alot of boost come C5, which will be out in a few mouths.

All newbie zones are dead till you get to gludin. once there then you will see alot more people, not till you reach dion and giran will you really start to see people. sorry but most of the players are grown up now and that is the way it is.

If your lucky someone will help you get some gear, but odds are they will laugh at you if they think you're asking for free stuff.

Also class is is 20, humin knight, 40 pally or dark avenger, then at 76 you can be a phoenix knight ( pally ) or a dreagknot( DA ). here is a link for skill list (http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/race_human_skill.html)
Hello there,

You can become a Knight at level 20, (D grade) then at level 40 you can become a Paladin, at 76 you can become a Phoenix Knight.
There are not a lot of new players these days, so starter areas are usually barren. On your orc fighter, if you are using the givin starter gear, yes you will sit alot, it doesn't provide very much attack or defense. if you have top non-grade gear, you will have very little down time.

through the rest of the game no, you will not kill one mob, get 2% and sit. depending on class is how much you sit, for me, as a level 64 Sorcerer, I can kill a large amount of mobs, then I have to sit for about 8 minutes to regen my MP. in the time it takes me to get 2400 Mana gone, I can get about 1%. The grind becomes much more difficult at higher levels.
To change class you have to be the appropriate level (20 for first, 40 for second, 76 for third) and then do a quest. You can find guides for many of them on stratics, first class change guides updated to C4 are being added within the next couple of days.

Ok, first things first. You are killing the wrong mobs. I have met so many new players who constantly try to find mobs that yield more and more xp so that they can lvl fast.

That's not the way.

You need to find mobs that you can kill in a few hits and then move on to the next one. I promise you, that is how it is done. of course, if someone were to give you regular healing potions and top no grade gear you could blast through those wolves and more. But given that you are new and don't have that then go for mobs that don't eat chunks out of your hp.

Also, as others have said, the new player zones are fairly sparse of people. In some ways that could be a pain in the neck but in others it is a blessing.

It used to be that there were a lot of pk'ers in the noob zones because there were a lot of people who couldn't defend themselves. Now it is not so fun for them anymore. So, you should be able to lvl in peace.

Also, the nature of this game is power. Sure, you can join a role play clan and not worry about lvls and not really take part in the higher political "goings-on" of your server, but in the end, most people want to siege and even participate in clan wars.

IN order to do this they need to level and as fast as possible. Because of this you won't find many people lounging around the noob zones. Also, leveling is easier now then when the game first started, so people don't stay there long. In many ways it is a shame as the noob zones were great places to be. But time moves on.

At lvl 20, after you finish whatever 1st class transfer you choose, go to Dion. That is where you will find most of the 20+. The largest town by far is Giran. Aden is good for 60+ people.

Ask as many questions as you can in order to get a feel for what this game is about and how it is to be played. Though this is my first mmo I've made it a point to try many others to see what works and what doesn't.

And quite frankly this game really isn't like the others. It has its own logic and own tempo. For instance, you either grind for xp or for cash but ususally not both. It is impossible to level quickly and make a profit. Though, if you have a good manor on your server that could help a lot.

For me I never had a manor so I made a dwarf and also learned a bit of the market. Now, at this stage in the game, I find items that are at least 500k under the asking price and then buy and resell them. Only way I can seem to make any money.

Good Luck and welcome to L2.
Your Orc fighter....

Thats normal..... Your only level 6. Get to level 8 with your new player buffs you get, then come back to me. And we'll talk :)
Anyone know what the best gear at my lvl would be? Where should I obtain this equipment? My friends have been playing l2 for quite some time and said they'll try and help me out with that. And anyone know what a good pvp class would be? And what is pvp like? Can you go around the world searching for people lower lvl the you to kill? At what lvl do you have to be before going to gank people?
He's not a orc. he's a humin, and wants to go pally.

pally is a tank, and not great at ganking, if you want to pvp and gank then go TH or HE, since your a humin fighter.

But come C5 which isn't far off should be here in the next few mouths, pally gets alot of new skills for PvP.
He also have a level 6 orc.... :)
Well I don'tm have a human fighter yet, just used it as an example. I might have misworded my 1st post so its my fault. Now would anyone get back to my question. If I went to the armor shop and bought all the most expensive stuff they had for my lvl 6 would I be taking like 1 dmg instead of like 6 or 7 dmg?
It works by percentages, so no, you will never really get down to 1 damage unless there's a very extreme level difference.

Double PDef means half damage taken.
What server are you on if its Devianne give me a holler in game i'll help you get started. If not be patient and look around these forums. There is alot of hints advice and suggestions for new players.

Since the event started I have outfitted 5 new players in top NG. Well top NG you can get in starter towns. I remember when I started and how hard it was. Dont mind helping new players as long as they are actually new players. Nice to have the newby helper buffs to help determine this.

Looking for all the recruits for the new Clan system in C5 :)

First off if this is your first toon you wont be able to afford all the top NG gear in the starter town. But yes the better equipment you have the easier it is to kill mobs. If you cant afford better gear kill mobs that are green (thier name are green when you target them) little easier to kill but same xp as white mobs. If you have to kill light blue mobs still get ok xp but alot easier to kill though the drop rate decreases. First thing to do though is upgrade your weapon first then when you can afford it upgrade your armor. Killing faster is always better than being able to take more damage.

Anyone can attack anyone for any reason except the cities. You take full xp loss if you lose except in siege or in the arena. Siege is 1% and arena is none.

So, a lvl 60 can kill all the lvl 1's he wants. Good news is that that doens't happen a lot on certain servers because the new player areas don't have enough new players to give that type of play a thrill.
there is a significant difference between an apprentice weapon or low ng weapon (14k at armor shop or less) and the "top ng weapons". A significant difference. U can use the top ng if your friends will buy it for you. Comparatively a long sword will rip through mobs that are ponderous with an apprentice sword. I think the long sword (not top) is like 178k or so. Most of the top NG's are like 318 or 324k or something like that. They'll have patks in the mid-20's.
Definately get all the weapon u can afford as soon as you can afford it (btw..there is a weapon quest for most classes that I think is around level 10 or 12---that weapon has a patk of like 14 or 15 or so and is free when u complete the quest).
Others on this post can give u better info on those.
If your friends are gonna help u let 'em! :) A great NG weapon at lvl 10 is a wonderful thing!
Don't sweat the armor as much--if everything u hit dies in 2 hits u don't need as much protection!
Good luck.

PS. I had to read Sovroth's instructions on burning through mobs on 5 posts before I started following his advice. It makes a HUGE difference if you can VERY quickly kill. In fact, my last 2 alts I didn't take out of starter building (where u spawn) until they were level 5 cause it was so quick there!
Prior to C grade, every step up in gear is dramatic. Since you get exchange offers, upgrade as rapidly as possible before you lose your "noobie character exchange priveleges." Focus everything you can on your weapon first. More damage = less time attacking = less time for mob to hit you = less damage. So not only does a higher weapon = more damage and thus = more exp, but it actually means less damage per mob.

DDs level fastest for this reason. I suggest a dagger, archer, or mage. Archers shouldnt use bows before 40 anyways though. But truly, tanks are a lot of fun, I love mine. Play what you love, if you don't like it, switch.
Two more questions. So if my friend gave me 500k and I just went to the weapon shop and bought a Zweinhander I would be able to equip it right? Theres no cartain lvl I have to be before I equip stuff from npcs right? And what is the best Orc Fighter class for pvp? Thanks.

Yes, if you bought a Zweihander you could equip it no problem. If your friends went out and got you a Dragon Slayer (A grade L61+) you coudl equip that too. You'd get some hefty grade penalties but you could still do it.

As for pvp...just pick one. None are truly 'bad' at it. The mystics have MP management issues either way. (OL gets the better 'nuker' buffs though.) For melee Tyrant has more flexibility but takes more 'skill' to play. Destroyer is simpler but has to take their slowness into account.
So what exactly would those penalties be? I would still be dealing ALOT more damage then I would be with a short sword right? And how much difference would there be if I bought all the best npc orc fighter gear in Orc Village. Would I be taking 1 dmg instead of 6 dmg from monsters like kasha wolves and stuff?
0-19 NG
20-39 D
40-51 C
52-60 B
61-75 A
76+ S

Using a weapon outside your grade is:
1. Expensive - you will spend LOTS of money on soulshots and mobs will not drop accordingly.
2. Risky - Never unequip it. You can drop unequipped items and it would really suck to drop an A grade item from a lvl 15 :P
3. Penalized - You lose accuracy to wield a weapon out of your skill range in melee. If you use one as a mystic, you will fail spells for 1 - half damage. Using a D grade blunt or fists at lvl 1-19 works decently well. I have done it several times and enjoyed it. You DO miss more often. You WILL swing and miss while the monster slaps you and sometimes way too many times in a row. But when you hit, you will hit hard, yes. Be warned, it COSTS money to exp like this. With a 2hand sword, your accuracy will be very poor. Trying to go outside a few grades above is NOT recommended. Personally, other than using a blunt, fist, dual sword D grade while under 20, I would simply take the top weapon I enjoyed.

Also, if you are aiming for archer you don't use a bow until C grade. Daggers do better damage/acc and VR is a time saving buff for a noob.

NOTE: I have not tested + accuracy SAed weapons. These may be effective, but we are talking about 3 M or more adena.
SA's do not work out of grade.
