I just recently started playing my Oracle again first time since I took another char (Paladin) from lvl 1-47 when I got frustrated trying to find groups at lvl 16.
I was fortunate to come accross 1 person who was able to give me an SP scroll so I could learn nuker spells (I had lvl1 of them previously as I was intending to be healer), and grinded to lvl20 by nuking.
So, now Im a happy Oracle... but wait a minute... nobody wants to group with me? I sit in Dion patiently waiting for someone to reply to my "Lvl20 Oracle LFG" plea, but nobody does :(
Does this mean Im going to have to go and solo (yet again) before people will have any interest in me healing them? I think it really sucks because (personally speaking) I hate nuking, and love healing in a group or duo. I dont want to be a stuffing nuker until I reach level 35, I want to HEAL people and BUFF people :p Otherwise Id have chosen to be a nuker... (go figure!)...
lol... i see... i once partied with an SO, but due to my lv is a weee... bit higher than hers/his... makes me feel bad to drag that SO to places... that um.. well... can get him/her killed... so yes.. it is hard to find a group... and i think healer are best helper ever... everyone would likely died without the help of a healer/buffer.
As said, try the necro's and cata's. Go to the hunting spots of your level.
You didn't mention your current level. But at a certain level EG will be great for you to hang around (smack those ghouls with Root/Distrubt Undead). People will come to you for buffs... Give them and ask them if they want to party. Be active in making contacts.... that is the way I did it.
After the ghouls and strains.... hit the hangman trees... and after that go the DP and hunt those Fettered Souls. You will see people will come for you for buffs... and remember you have VR. You are wanted!!!! So be active, play it smart and you will have enough groups :)
A warning. Hangman trees are no longer undead since the start of C4.
My suggestion is to keep nuking until 25. Then you'll have emp, and can really do well in groups. At 30 you get VR and recharge, and from then on it should be smooth sailing (heretics/pilgrims are good places to find groups after that).
As a 6x SE, I can tell you that yes, those first few levels past 20 were a pain. The only time I got groups was with my clan.
However, some of the people here have given some very good advice. Get out of Dion. That's more a 25-35 zone.
Get to Gludin and shout yourself hoarse. Or, if you're willing to take it on the chin, go to Gludio with a decent m.atk weapon and go play in the Ruins of Despair, disrupting anything and everything that used to be alive.
Once you get 25, you'll start picking up a few magey groups. At 30, the warriors will start to appreciate you more.
But the big trick here is to not get discouraged and NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK! Get your name out, and get people to group with at regular times.
Pretty soon, you won't even notice that you're not soloing any more.
Raid groups around Dion/Gludin are good too, if you do enough of them you make friends with all the raid minded people because you see them for many groups.
Go to Gludin. Try to find groups in Necropolis of Sacrifice, Orc Barracks, Abandoned Camp. Try to get into raid boss parties. If there are no groups, solo on Mahums or Lizardmen.
And don't use Disrupt Undead save for emergencies. They are a waste of MP, especially before lvl 25.

Yea, windstrike is simply more efficient until it begins to fail. At that point, the danger from a failed windstrike > Efficiency.
If you're an SO, wait til 25 & try to duo with a human/elven wiz in that level range. They'll have their summon to regen mp & you'll have empower. Then at 30 you'll get a recharge skill that will just about totally replace their kitty/pony. If you're an ee you'll have to wait til 30 before you can interest a nuker, as you won't have empower for them.
Raid boss groups are awesome, at lvl 20-30 one raid can give 20-50% xp. It sounds like a fast level, but there's typically a lot of waiting on RB groups that aren't preplanned.
There is always a reason to group.... meeting people! Nice people to know... people who can learn you about the game (remember many people have "young" alts) .... for fun... as group you always stand better. Enough reason to group... straight from level 1.
Well i got a lvl 43 SE...ive been lvling her since lvl 20 by Raidbosses...you may try find the parties pretty early as most of the bosses are taken...but if you find a nice little RBP then you can lvl about 3-4 lvls if you lucky finding the perfect party..ive been doing that as i think ive been taken over 50 RB of couple of days...SO dont have the big problem finding parties (my experience) as most say go to Cata/Necro that shouldnt be to hard for you finding a party fast!
Hey thankyou to everyone for the great replies {> Much appreciated! I'll try a few of these things now the next time I log on :)
As a side note, reason I want a group is because I dont like soloing, (and therefore dont like nuking :P). Id rather take 2 weeks to make it to lvl 30 in groups than 2 days by soloing.
Regards, Ros.
Im on Lionna [name is Serenas], and I forgot to elaborate earlier but Im an Elven oracle, so sorry if I mislead.
Met a guy who played EO. He joined a clan the minute he hit 20. He spent his 20's and 30's duoing or hunting in catas and necros with higher levels who just needed a healer in order to avoid downtime. Sure, he got killed a few times, but at that level, you earn back 4% xp extremely fast. Given the parties that he was able to get, he levelled much more quickly than my palus knight at the time, and he even had C and B grade mats to sell to the market from hunting in the higher level hunting areas. Just something to consider...
