Official Poll: Seven Spirits of Mischief

The Seven Spirits of Mischief have been banished from Aden and Elmore.

Please place your votes below and reply in this thread to let us know what you thought about this event. Thank you!
I'd definetly like one like this..but with more random spawns, spawning anywhere, in middle of other packs of mobs.
Alone or in small group.

The riddle thing was definetly sweet.
good event, as you can see people LOVED the dark lord event. So basically people want to see these changes

1. More drops
2. More respawn times (you guys did an EXCELLENT job the last two days where there was spawns at noon cst, 6pm cst and 9pm cst). This gives everyone an opportunity to join in and has two spawns closer together when most people are online.

Thats about it I guess.

1. More drops

I'm all for this but I really can't stand all the crying it leads to on the forums about the "ruined" economy.
Drops seemed very bad this time compared to previous ones, and no A enchants at all made it not all that good for me :/

well there is a balance...somewhere between the raid boss event and this event somewhere in the middle is the right balance. Besides, I give it less than a week before things are pretty much back to normal. You see a lot of glowing d grade weapons now and crystal prices will drop for a while so buy em while ye can ;D.

Also, I know this cant be fixed but this was the first event where I saw a lot of selfishness when it came to raid bosses. It wasnt 'come one come all' it was 'raid looking for nukers, pm whoever'

Most of the time if you pm'd and asked for the location of the raid they wouldnt even tell you which was pretty sad.
i liked this event, AFTER i got the hang of it.
The event was very nice. This one was much better in comparison to the one like this last year. Event monsters dropped less items, the raid mobs dropped a good bit still. It was just enough to give real players a little something extra, but not enough to **** and pillage the game's current economy.
As posted on the other thread: I liked it, the few (three) times I participated. I enjoyed the riddles. I would have preferred drops to come from each mob in lesser quantities than trying for the big jackpot with each mob - I killed a large part of one group but had the second mob that wound up dropping KSed out from under my hands.

Also, as posted on the other thread, I think:

Appropriate level spawn: The mobs should be yellow or pink to a player to whom the area in which they appear are levelling range (white to green). In party areas such as dungeons, dark red mobs might work well.

Appropriate level penalty: The mobs should not drop to players to whom they are lower than light blue, and only limited to those to whom they are green or light blue.

Appropriate level drop: A mob should drop scrolls appropriate for its level - B Grade seems big to me, but it's junk to a level 76! Stick with the same drop pattern as in the current drop tables, or make it so that mobs actually drop appropriately to their level.

PS: The reward level was good, I think. Taking out the groups was well worthwhile. It would have been better if higher levels couldn't plunder lowbies. :p

PS: I still think you should do an event with base or key mats or recipes.
I can understand the whole higher lvl players not plundering lowbies thing... But what about the higher lvl players that have a low dmg output that want to solo some event mobs and get the drops for themselves instead of needing to share the drops with friends(l2 buff scrolls). I personally would not be able to do the event mobs that are in an equal lvl of me if I had to solo them with my tank dmg so low lvl mobs which are dark blue to me are my only option. Unless of course I have an alt that just so happens to be in a lvl range of the mobs I've found. Me personally, I put most of my focus into my main character and I doubt my lvl 20 alts are going to help me kill lvl 50 mobs so I can get drops without needing to share with others.
We need another medal event. Teon needs lvl 11 and 12 crystals that don't come from "professional player's" hands. Make rewards to be EWA's, Soul Crystals, etc. like the last medal event. Throw in a "Wildcard Recipe" where you hand in a few hundred medals and get a random recipe. It may be for a Arcana Mace or Majestic helmet rec or it could be braided hemp and mithril alloy.
I can't quite answer your poll, since your last question is not clear. Yes, I really liked the way the event was done, the clues and riddles were clever and there was purpose. So on those counts I would love another event like it. But what I certainly didn't like was the very very low drop rates, you could defreat a whole group of incredibly hard mobs and die many times and still only walk away with mediocre loot that even a single pumpkin could have done better...literally.

The event needs:
Better drop rates
Bigger spread of loot, add high level items too, like 11,12 and 13 crystals
Add basic mats
Add recipes, especially those increadibly hard to get like a-grade helmet recipes.
More spawn overall
Better sa***uards toward server restarts

The "you don't get any drop if they're deep blue" might be somewhat ok, but then you guys will need to make alot more different level groups and the groups needs to be more similar in level (many of the groups in this event had a very wide range of levels in the same group, and its not fair to get deep blue mobs together with yellow and red mobs). Other than that I like the idea.

In closing I'd like to give kodus to the event team for the clever use of the login screen (and HA HA! to the bots that don't get a login screen) and your nice riddles and clues (Though, sometimes they were a little weird, like what on earth the tall mountain in Hunters Valley had to do with "Ruins of ancient battles"), this was definetly cool.

!WTB Unnerfed pumpkin event! ;)
I liked this one. It was a little short but a good one.
I liked searching for the event spawns and killing the normal event mobs. However, spawning mobs that are significantly higher (15-20+ levels) than the mobs in the surrounding area is a bit frustrating. They should be 5-10 levels higher, at most. Also, the loot drop rate was way to low. Killing a whole group of event spawns and only getting drops off 2 or 3 mobs is pretty lame.

Personally, I find the event raid bosses to be a total waste of time. Partially, this is due to the mechanics of looting rights. Due to the nature of raiding in L2, the nuker party always ends up with most, if not all, of the drops. Due to greed and/or laziness, there is rarely any attempt to try and distribute the loot more fairly. So, most go away with nothing to show for their efforts. I saw this happen many times during last year's Dark Lord event. I hoped things would be different this time. If we have another event with raid bosses, I'm not going to participate. I'm tired of helping people outside of my circle of friends and clannies get all the loot.
Where is the "This Event Sucked and Needs Revising." option?

Seriously what the heck has happened to events? They have all been shafted to hell and back. The only GOOD events i would have to say was the Dark Lords/Independance, the Pumpkins, and the Medals event (all of which was last year). Seems to me this past year and Christmas, events started going down hill. Did something happen to the event team or what? but honestly the most worthless event would have to been this years rabbit event. I have yet to find one on both occasions they did it, heck it was more beneficial to XP then go looking for them. Oh and to you greedy little snobs / NC *** kissers / etc, these events NEED more drops. Something is definately wrong when EWA is 16 mil a piece, a Damascus is 60m etc etc, the whole market is like that for everything. we need drops to drive prices DOWN.

seriously though i can go on, but all in all. this event SUCKED.

ty kk thx

/FlameSuitOn
agree.
Drops need to increse, or the frequency of these event has to
increse (like around 2 weeks a month of events).

If you havent noticed yet. Material prices are so high, most ppl just buy adena off farmers. more events = more items on the market = lower prices = less adena bought = less farmers.
everybody happy

About the lvl spread of the eventmobs..
what is every1 whining about? I ran into a group of eventmobs on talkin island... lvl 16-25 mobs.
only thing that dissapoints me, if that you kill some lvl 80 eventmobs, and they drop C grade scrolls....
i couldnt participate, i was too low.

but i like new l2day scroll drops. i can afford to buy them so im happy.
I know NCsoft doesn't do the events we ask for. One thing has been repeated and ignored. On only one day was there mobs available in the evenings. I immagine most of the spawns were during Chinese hours.

I will never go hunting for event mobs again. Completely fed up. While I did get to kill some early in the event, the spawns later in the event were too early. I got a few drops but Chinese I'm sure made millions.
I have a few gripes with the event, mainly with the small scale.
With consideration to time intervals, they were too few and far between. To be able to accomodate every player, and yes it is necessary to accomodate each player individually as each player pays individually for individual enjoyment, there need to be many more times with smaller intervals, perhaps every 2 hours instead of 4 3 times in a day.

Concerning the location. They need to be more spread out, with more mobs being spawned each time. Further, you should alert the players when the mobs spawn, and once every 10 minutes for the first half an hour after they spawn, with the same riddle related clue which is at least enough for one to figure out where they can find the spawned event mobs. And most importantly, the mobs being spawned should be approximately equal in level to the mobs in the area where they spawn. However, the drops from these event mobs do not, and should not correspond to the level of the mob being spawned, but to the level of the intended event participant. Specifically, I don't want to see any more level 70 mobs dropping C grade enchants, which are useless to player of that level. Make mobs drop blessed enchant scrolls of the appropriate level, as these scrolls do not cause burps in the enchant scroll economy (see my previous post concerning this matter).

Actually, considering that the people who can produce and sell enchant scrolls are really more similar to a monopoly or oligopoly (limited number of sellers who can limit the supply of the scrolls in order to set whatever price they like on the scrolls they sell), which is not beneficial to the populace as a whole but is only beneficial to the few scroll sellers who constitute such a drastically small subset of L2 players, all of their complaints about lack of profit should be ignored. They are not speaking of what is best for everyone, but only of what is best for them; and by listening to them, you do a greater amount of harm to the L2 society than you would prevent by doing as this smallest group of people ask.

Very well said.
I am really dissapointed in this event. This was like... MY FAVORITE L][ EVENT ARCHTYPE AND I WAITED ALOMST A YEAR FOR IT and yet it was a total let down.

I mean... I could handle the lower drop rates, but lvl 60-80 mobs dropping C scrolls, and lvl 6-10 crystals.... that's just not worth the time and effort.

Localizing it to IT was a nice touch though.
Through out the whole event I participated in about 30 raid bosses. I saw 1 full drop. A draconic Bow. I picked it up bu tbeing turn based my party leader got it and we rolled for it for everyone in the raid. My buddy got it and I was happy for him, but, in 30+ bosses, 1 full drop and absolutely no A grade enchants? EWA cost 11-14M on Hindemith from the professionals or the heros that have enough points to buy em now. In c3 they were 4M tops. SOmething needs to be done and seeing how these events are the only way for any "Real" players to get anything good, Please fix the drops for our next event.

When a lv 76 nuker can kill every mob in a spawn and the best drop out of twenty 76+ mobs is 8 animal bones, Something is wrong.
Yes, the medal event was my second favorite event behind the dark lord event. It was extremely, nay, insanely exploitable by all farmers of all kinds but was still fun.

Also, I don't believe level 13 soul crystals have any part in any event. Level 13 is the top of the top and requires a great amount of teamwork and skill to get normally and it shouldnt be tossed out there easily.

S grade should be off the list too. Heck, I think it should be like mamoon and not have anything over B grade for drops and maybe A grade enchants/lower A grade full drops from the real tough raids.
Would be cool to have a retry now that we know how it works, gogo NC, make it rehappen , maybe with fixed rates ;)

i liked this event, AFTER i got the hang of it.

Same :) I liked the clues in GM chat and the splash screen pictures after I "got it". The loot should have been higher end esp for those super high level mobs though.
The story themed event was great. Drops on Raid Boss's were good, drops on field mobs could have used some tweeks. EXP was very good for my clan (high 50's to mid 60's mostly) Full parties roaving over aden, we got atleast 3 spawns per cycle.

Level 13 SA's and S grade shouldnt be drops, but it wouldnt hurt for some A Grade Recs or enchant scrolls.
I didn't see one event mob and I played every day the past week.
Did you see no event mobs, or no announcements?

I am really dissapointed in this event. This was like... MY FAVORITE L][ EVENT ARCHTYPE AND I WAITED ALOMST A YEAR FOR IT and yet it was a total let down.

I didn't even get a single crystal. :/
I didn't see any either. Lots of buff scrolls, BSOE, BREZ, EAD, EAC, EWC, EWC, EAB and EWB though.
I enjoyed this event partly because I was able to wipe out a few clusters alone. It would be nice if each mob dropped 1 item but instead of one giant cluster have them spawn in more numerous locations in groups of 2-3. The large clusters are challenging especially the first time when you hit something in the middle and it turns out everything is social to it (poke clannie telling me to "shoot that"). After that I feel what a raid farmer must feel and that's run to the next cluster and wipe it out.

Overall this has been a better event. Also the drop sequence was easy to decode. It was random but there's a point when you know you got it all and move on.
I thought the event started of badly. No spawn announcements knowowne knew if they were even out there or not. Once the announcements started it was great. I specialy love the way the announcements and the splash screen at startup tied into each days spawns. Was fun waiting for the announcement to try and figure out where they would spawn. That was the good part of the event.

The things I didn't like about the event.

1) The amount of loot dropped by mobs and the type of loot. L2Day scrolls are getting really old every event has them. Would love to see different loot from event mobs.

2) The spawn times. This game runs 24/7 so event spawns should be 24/7 not just during the PM hours. People from all over the world play this game so not everyone plays during the pm hours. Spawn mobs in the am hours to.

3) The lvl of mobs that spawned I didn't have a problem with. But I definatley think the drop penalty on mobs should be in affect during events. This will keep high lvl players from owning all the groups in newb towns and and lower lvl areas.

Other than those 3 thinks I think the last half mon-thurd was a great event you really made it work. Slow start but nice finish.

3) The lvl of mobs that spawned I didn't have a problem with. But I definatley think the drop penalty on mobs should be in affect during events. This will keep high lvl players from owning all the groups in newb towns and and lower lvl areas

Once, I run into a group where mobs were white to deep blue, lvls ranging from 40 to 6 or so (orc from TI). What do you sugest people doing with those groups?

My sugestion: mobs should be no more then 10 lvls abouve the location. Rewards should be spread out among all mobs in the group and be more adequate, especialy for the raid bosses. When high 60th RB drops EAC and stage 7-8 crytstals it's not even fun..
The clues in grame and on update screen were great!
The event was ok, but the extra item drops weren't enough. They should have been more appropriate for player level. Level 80 bosses dropping D/C grade enchants is a little ludacris. As well my alliance didn't care much about the event items and raided only for what we normally raid for, A/S grade armor and weapon drops.
The loot sucked.

After the first day my clan no longer searched for mobs. There was no incentive with the horrible drops. If we found event mobs while doing normal hunting, we spent a few minutes to kill them off. We were consistently dissappointed.

It must be understood that the average player is not concerned with the profits of the purveyors of enchant scrolls, who are usually selling for rip-off prices.

1. More drops

I'm all for this but I really can't stand all the crying it leads to on the forums about the "ruined" economy.

Agreed - could definetly use more drops - perhaps the extreme went a little too far compared to previous events where people did comment about the economy being shot. Typcially though, I don't care much about an event in particular - just as long as there are events to keep the game interesting.
Yes a step in the right direction, now we just need ncsfot to keep it up. More spawns would have been better but with the few that I did I would do it again.
The rewards for the amount of work involved was a waste of time IMO. Who wants 300 L2day scrolls? Not me.
Like what has been said, rewards were too nerfed. I stopped looking after the first 2 days because it wasnt worth it. I liked that it was focused around one area (Ivory Tower) and i think you should do more events that are geared towards in game landmarks being attacked.
I enjoyed the event. The drops were not all that good, but atleast it didn't screw up the market for a few weeks.

The next event I would love to see a chance or a better chance at getting lvl 11 and lvl 12 SA crystals.
i would guess that it would be a while before there is any easy way to get anything above a level 9 and maybe a level 10 soul crystal. Why? Because everyone knows it is relatively easy to level a soul crystal to 10 on doom knights but to get to level 11-13 now that is a challenge...as it should be. Lets look at the rewards of every event

BSOE (available to purchase from mamoon)
BREZ (available to purchase from mamoon)
Shot packs (available to craft easily)
L2 day scrolls (normal buffs from high level buffers)
lvl 1-9 soul crystals (cannot be bought but relatively easy to level)

Now, some of the raid bosses do drop better stuff like full armor/weapon drops. I dont see why the very highest raid bosses for events cannot drop 1 stage 12 crystal each that seems fair.

I do doubt we will ever see a level 13 drop for at least a few more chronicles when A grade SA's arent as big of a deal.
I don't mind not getting the lvl 13 cry's for a long time to come. But with given groups of ppl farming the very few bosses that let you get lvl 11 and 12 crys. I think it would be nice for more events to add the chance of lvl 11 and 12 crys dropping.

It was kind of sad killing a lvl 75+ event raid boss and getting a few lvl 7 and lvl 9 crystals. Which I can lvl and make on my own in one day with ease.

There has been an event or two where you have been able to get a lvl 11 and lvl 12 crystal. I just think that more of the events should add these to the list of rewards you can get.
I don't think it would kill the SA market to give some lvl 11 and 12's out as rewards.

Same thing with A grade armor Rec's. It definitely wouldn't kill the market if they were a possibility on the reward.

I'm not saying make them drop like candy.
IMO if a person in their mid 60's works hard at an event for a whole week straight, I think it would be fine if they could come away from it with a lvl 11 or 12 crystal and maybe 4 ro 5 A grade armor recs. Let people trade for the colors and flavors they need.
it wouldnt kill the market but its not really fair if people can create 1-10 within a day but dont take the effort or use a clan to get 11-13 thats what I am saying.
To my surprise I kinda liked this event in the end. Too bad in the end was last day in my case.
Cause it started real bad for me and after that I didn't feel like searching anymore. Close outside Aden a large spawn of 84 lvl 6xhp mobs literally exploded at the feet of my toon. Some mobs immediately started spitting flame, as I tryied to run away... I called allies, but as I was right in the middle of the spawn, I had to respawn in order to join the hunt. With great effort our parties took those mobs down. My great reward for this challenging task was... 1xQHP. Yay! Then we proceeded to kill the 78 lvl raid. Well my toon died again and as this was the 6th death that day I became rather fed up. Thanks to the loot distrubution rules in the ally I had no chance to see any of the RB spoils. Not that an EAC or two would make me happy... And so I stayed mostly away from this event. Only went to help with some rb'ses when ally was killing them. Well, on Wednesday I finally decided to give it a try, but found nothing. Only at the very end, on Thursday I got lucky and found two groups and RB at just the right level for me. Ended up with 9 emp scrolls, 1 brez, 2 bsoe, lvl7 crystal, some other assorted scrolls and C enchants that I gave away. I enjoyed that last day, too bad it didn't last.

How I evaluate the event:
Quite nice BUT:
1. Every or almost every mob should drop. Even if individual mobs would drop less. Would make an evener distribution of drops between hunters.
2. Not enough drops overall. Level 11&12 Soul Crystals especially welcome. Quality should scale depanding on mob's level. 80+ mobs and 70+ rbses shouldn't drop D/C enchants...
3. Not enough spawns. Fortunately it seems many lost interest in this event, so there was a chance to find some mobs.
4. Mobs shouldn't be more then then 10 levels above the hunting area they spawn in. 30-35 levels difference is just too much.
This wasnt a bad event, but the spawns were to rare. I actively hunted them and saw 3 total groups. I did get a few drops, but not enough to justify the time.

I also think that lvl 57-60 mobs should spawn in lvl 55-60 areas. I caught them once spawning in Execution Grounds. GO lvl 30's GO!!!
screw the drops. MORE MONSTERS!!

OMG IM SO ANGRY!!

OMG IM SO ANGRY!!

This cracks me up every time I see it! I'm so easily amused. :D
yes, please have an event for lvl 11/12 SA Crystals :D
4th of July is coming. So expect another event.
only thing i saw this event do was bring greed....since the drops were nerfed form the last one like this people were not very likely to let others know about it. Thats not really the issuse tho.
If the bosses were so hard that it took a siege force to take them down, then raid boss farmers wouldnt have been pkin people to take them down, then of course up the drops to make up for the effort. dont care if its more scrools just in clumps of 5 or 6 or something, just make it so more people need to be involved.
Kep the smaller lower lvl mobs, but make the hard ones hard. Raid bosses now are so easy to take down, most can be taken down with one group till the upper 50's then only 2 good groups can do it. Way too easy.

it wouldnt kill the market but its not really fair if people can create 1-10 within a day but dont take the effort or use a clan to get 11-13 thats what I am saying.

So we are now calling fair only those things the ones not open to the most number of people, because as far as I can remember, we were always taught that fair meant open to the largest group of people. Yet it has been said already that leveling a SA crystal to the 11 or 12 needed to enchant an A grade weapon, and given that a grade weapons are now extremely common, and being level 63 or over and not having A some piece of a grade has become uncommon, then really the sa crystals should be as common as the weapons. That much seems fair, if you have the weapon, you should be able to enchant the weapon, but that isn't the game. And to me, this is what it isn't fair, not some misguided idea that people shouldn't be able to enchant their weapon just because they lack the ability or desire to zerg some mob with a huge number of hp which is not always available to be zerged.

It's one thing to say it isn't fair that one person earns a reward for a smaller amount of work than another, but it is quite something else to prove it, and when we are talking about a game, proving this is an even harder task as doing work is not the purpose of the game, otherwise it wouldn't be a game but a job.

The same selfishness that makes people say A grade armor should be exclusive are the ones who say the SA crystals for this equipment must be exclusive as well, and likely for the same reason (though that isn'y true in this case). Yet I refuse to accept that I should go without because I'm in a smaller alliance than you, or because you want to keep me from having what I want and deserve just as much as you simply because you need to feel special. Well guess what, I'm no less human than you.
I dont have an A grade weapon much less an A grade SA much less a clan that would fight these raid bosses to get the SA. Your idea of 'fair' is not the definition of 'fair'. In this case its all subjective. The SA's were meant to be hard to get and they are available to people who dont want to fight the raids...for a price.

Eventually they may make them more common but it surely wont be through an event and will be through other means. An SA is not a necessity, it is a weapon booster and a lot of people just overenchant their b grade equipment instead. Guess what? This game is all about the haves and the have nots and being able to get these have nots. Don't be mad at me because you are too lazy to work for what you want (since you are going to point the greedy card at me I may as well pass judgement and call you lazy).
Great Event!

Loved the riddles, loved scouting for mobs, loved the slaughter around IT.

Only minor let-downs:
Better than letting only 2 from 20-30 minions drops lots of stuff would be every minion (or every second) drop a little bit.

Other rewards: the real high mobs should have higher rewards (an EWB from a lvl 75 mob is not really satisfying when TEON price for EWA start at +10kk). Some 12 Crystals would have been nice (not for the farmers though).

Few more spawn times (as in the last 2 - 3 days) would be sweet as well.

All in all, I would rate this even a total success, thanks NCSoft :)

it wouldnt kill the market but its not really fair if people can create 1-10 within a day but dont take the effort or use a clan to get 11-13 thats what I am saying.

I would hunt raid bosses in a heart beat if I could find one up. Also if I was in an allinace of hardcore gamers that had enough players on at any given time of the day. This way we could rush to the raid boss to fight for it with the farmers and every other alliance that is trying to do the same thing.

I understand what you saying great game design for getting the high lvl crystals. Just to bad its terribly exploited.
Sorry, but I cannot agree with you.

There is indeed a group of players to which a sudden cheap stream of crystals would be unfair. Those are the players that have worked very hard to earn for example 80m adena and bought the crystal with their hard earned money. But I think even they would admit the situation has really gotten out of hand and something should be done.
Then there are people who bought adena. Is it fair to them? Who cares?

There are people who got the crystals as rewards in Medal Event. Fair to them that there would be another event with such rewards? Very much so. Fair to me that I started a few months too late?

Then there are members of the top dog alliances.
They also won't get much sympathy from me. Does the sole fact of belonging to a certain clan make them better? Well I was a member of an ally seen as strong. People even started calling us zerg and so on. Did I see even one crystal leveled? No. We still couldn't beat farmers and the stronger allys. Well, we did beat others to Anthy once, but failed :( Even if we succeded, it would only be at most 9 crystals +1 lvl... Clans that control those resources all the time won't get my sympathy, if they feel giving out crystals is "unfair".

Probably the most is in the hands of the farmers though. Need I elaborate on the subject of "fairness" here?

Other rewards: the real high mobs should have higher rewards (an EWB from a lvl 75 mob is not really satisfying when TEON price for EWA start at +10kk). Some 12 Crystals would have been nice (not for the farmers though).

You got an EWB from a MOB?!? *Gasp* YOU LUCKY BASTARD!!!
Thank you to everyone for your votes and feedback! Your comments are very much appreciated, and we hope you enjoyed the event.
