Hey i'm sorta a noob playin for about 2 or 3 weeks and i was wonderin if anyone could give me some tips to make adena
Try doing a search for "Manor", "Manor system", "Market", for starters.
There are actually several in depth threads that should help you. Just remember that you can either hunt for money or hunt for "maximum xp" but not really both.
If you are using shots then you are using money. If you are using health potions then money.
1) Don't buy soulshots or spiritshots (abbreviated SS and SPS respectively). Use the free ones you get as a newbie until they aren't of any use any longer, but don't buy any more after that. Hunting will be slower, but you will also retain a much higher percentage of your income.
2) As a newbie, you have access to an upgrade system for your low level weapons. At level 1, use your starter weapon until you reach level 10. At level 10, you can get a quest in your starting city to earn you a new weapon. This weapon can last you until you can afford top No Grade (abbreviated NG). Alternatively, you can purchase a NG weapon from the merchant and progressively upgrade it (which may be a wee tiny bit more expensive). However: after level 20, DON'T go off and buy a low D-grade weapon, but also DON'T save all of your money for top-line. Your best bet is to use your NG weapon until you have enough money for a middle-of-the-line D weapon. Then use that weapon until you can afford a middle-of-the-line C weapon. When you get to B grade, you should know what you're doing well enough to make those decisions for yourself.
3) Armor. I don't know what class you're playing, but some characters gain absolutely no benefit whatsoever from purchasing armor at lower levels. These characters are mages mostly. The reason for this is that a mage's strength comes directly from his spells, which are offensive. Spells are only influenced by your weapon, your stats, and buffs. Armor does not give a bonus to stats (unless you happen to own an excruciatingly expensive "set"--there is an NG one that is quite affordable that can take you very, very far). So for a non-melee class, buy the NG set (called "Devotion", i.e. Tunic of Devotion, etc.) from the shop whenever you can afford it and don't buy any other armor until B-Grade. You will die a lot more quickly this way, but at the same time, you will have much more money to focus on your offensive abilities; if you choose not to buy armor, it might be a good idea to buy spiritshots. This is ultimately your call, and going without armor can be risky and aggravating, but it will save you a boggling amount of money. Don't even consider this if you are a melee class.
3) Search for things that you can kill faster, not things that drop more per kill. Killing 10 mobs in 20 minutes when each mob drops 100a gives you 1k in that time frame. Killing 7 mobs in 20 minutes when each mob drops 120a gives you 840a. Faster is (almost) always better.
4) Travel can be expensive. Walk whenever possible.
5) If you aren't sure how much something is worth, ask around. Never buy without knowing. Scamming does happen in L2, so don't let it happen to you.
6) You can get many things for free. At higher levels, for example, you will need spellbooks that aren't sold in shops. Sometimes buying these books from players can cost you millions of adena. This is not always necessary. Find out where these items drop, go there, and ask around politely if anyone has farmed one. Many players will be more than willing to help you out.
7) Consumables are the natural enemy of adena. Things like potions will kill your money faster than you can say bejesus. Sure they will help you kill faster, but when you're trying to make money, that's not the way you want to go.
Hope these tips help. Best of luck to you. You should post your race, class, and intended class changes so people can give you more specific advice.
I think Johis has given some pretty good advice, however I always bought at least 100 Soulshots for emergencies and that's the only time I used them.
They can save your life when you get overwhelmed and not dying means more time for killing which means more adena. So in that situation, they really pay for themselves.
Aye, soulshots or spiritshots can save you sometimes, but I always got depressed when consumption rates were 3x in D-grade. Low morale wins. No SS for me.
As a nuker at last, it's quite fine to make do with a 2BSpS weapon.
If you can manage to manor (and of course not all can, it wouldn't be so great if they all could ^_~), using SS is the way to go - it pushes profit over time. There's no time to worry about whether you're spending 500 or 1000 a mob if each of them brings you 5k income.
