Has this happened to anyone else??

One of my clannies had this happen the other day.

Happily soloing. My clannie has no PK's and no karma. Gets pk'd by some passing idiot and unfortunately on this occasion he drops his tunic (B grade - top and plussed) which the PKer grabs and then logs.

10 mins later a dwarf is selling the exact same tunic which because they wouldn't return, nor were there anymore available, my clannie was forced to buy back (it was the same 1 not just a coincidence, too many things such as area of sale, times, etc added up)

He petitioned the GM and was given the usual stuff about PK being part of the game etc.

Has this happened to anyone else and what was the outcome?

How does NC/GM's think is it fair for that to happen and my clannie have to spend millions to get it back. It's difficult enough getting together the money to buy higher grade stuff without having some thiefing (censored) stealing stuff. Had my clannie been attacking and caused the situation fair enough but he was minding his own business.
It's a PVP game, it happens. GM's aren't going to help you, it's part of the game.
I don't have a problem with pvp or pkers, I have a problem with thieves.
It was my understanding that you can't drop in PvP.

If he got trained ok, but if he got PKed, he can't drop......
The mob probably got last hit which caused the tunic to drop. I've seen this happen in pvp a lot.

Again, that is just the game. If you drop something, anyone can pick it up and do whatever they want with it, sell it, wear it, sell it back to you for twice the price.
That's what most of our clan thought, apparently that's not true and I can't find anywhere that says otherwise.
"It is possible to drop up to five items when you die regardless of your karma status. Chaotic players have an increased chance to drop items upon death. An equipped weapon should only drop if the player has karma and 6 or more PKs. A player with 5 or fewer PKs should not lose an equipped weapon upon death."

That's from the tips section.
Welcome to L2. And did you really expect the GMs to do anything?
They do little else

They do little else

Makes ya wonder what that $15 USD/Month goes...
This isn't a new thing guys, you can't really justify complaining that the GM's won't get dropped or scammed items back when it's not in the policy to do so. They CAN'T.
Sorry for your friend's loss gut that is the game.

Really.

It is an open pvp game. The idea is to put players in a world and let them interact however they want. Some help, some don't.

10 lvl 70+ players could stand in the noob areas at every exit and not let anyone leave if they were so inclined.

That is just the game. That is why it is a brutal game. Works for some and not for others. No shame in that.
Related question: If you made 6 pks sometime in the past and your karma is back to 0 now, is it still possible to drop your weapon?

Well, and then of course there is this (http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=475822&page=0&view=collap sed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1#Post475822) post.

right from sargenc:

This is going to be ugly, because this software doesn't do tables well, but here is the current status of player drops. (NOTE: This is the way it is right now - it was not always this way, and may not always be this way in the future. Please do not petition about previous drop issues)

Player Karma = White

Killed By: NPC PC Summon/Pet

Can Drop Weapon? N N N

Can Drop Items? Y N N

Player Karma = Purple/Red with < 6 PKs

Killed By: NPC PC Summon/Pet

Can Drop Weapon? N N N

Can Drop Items? Y N N

Player Karma = Red with 6 or more PKs

Killed By: NPC PC Summon/Pet

Can Drop Weapon? Y Y Y

Can Drop Items? Y Y Y

At least that is what NCSoft US officially thinks is the current status of player drops in the game.

Yes. You need to remove the pk's. Do the sin-eater quest. You can find one of the "black judges" around the southern entrance of "The Waste".

Not as long as you have 0 karma on you, but as soon as you get a 6th pk you will drop.
usually what happens is a pk'er targets someone when they are fighting a mob. This means the mob will sometimes get in the last hit and you are much much much more likely to drop something that way than from a pk.

So ask your buddy if he was fighting a mob at the time. Also, if the mob kills the person then they dont even turn red lol.

Yep. Clan rule is that once you get 5 (or more) PKs, sin eater is your priority.

Thats a good rule. Helps keep the cost of replacing clannies gear down.

It gives you access to the game.
