So many ppl box chars. Do all of you that do pay to play two accounts? or does NCsoft give a discount for 2 accounts? I know that last question is probably a no but i find it hard to believe that so many ppl pay 30 dollars a month for a game.
Also i have had a person tell me that necros will suck after C5. Is this true? i am mainly looking to see if it will be good at PVE which i find it hard to believe that it wouldnt be a good class for pve, but who knows.
2boxing is simply buying 2 accounts and running them on two computers. If you can afford two computers for yourself, you can probably afford another $15,- a month aswell ;)
I don't believe necros and nukers in general will be nerfed that badly in C5 but not all details have been released so it might change. You should just go with a class that has a playstyle you enjoy, not with the class that's currently the most powerful because that's really just kind of gay (lack of better word, no offense intended :p ).
Personally I dont understand dual boxing. I have a hard enough time keeping up with my 1 toon on 1 account. One day I was playing. back when I was in a clan. and someone in my clan asked me about my buff bot. I wasnt sure what they were asking. So I asked this guy what he meant. and he said. surely you must be dual boxing so you can have a buff bot. I told him no. He acted like I was insane. I mean HOW CAN YOU PLAY L2 WITHOUT DUAL BOXING!! I dont get it. Really if I want someone to follow me around to buff and heal me. I will put up the looking for group sign. lol I just was in shock that it was so hard to believe I dont use 2 accounts to play. Kinda wonder how many people play like I do?

I never understood why people needed to have that buff bot... until I got bored... made a second account... and had 1 of my own. I can't even imagine lvling without emp 3 +recharges

of course I see your point. makes perfect sense. Im just not one of those people with the ability to multi task and I also cant afford another system. Rebuilding my current one so that one day I can visit Giran and not get annoyed. But hey if you have the ability and patience. Go for it! I just dont have either of those. Believe me people get annoyed when Im the tank in a raid party. "Dude you need to target something!!"

lol, ncsoft has the perfect model for requiring two accts for everyone...heck, i have an acct for a mage, one for se/ee and one for mah spoiler/crafter. Its not that hard to manage if you have the archer/mage just do all the combat and have the other guys just sit there. You dont ever really need heals and just buff and recharge as necessary. Just make sure to have them sit in a safe area close enough to get xp :)
I run two sessions of l2 on one computer and just overlap the screens so I can switch when I need buffs or recharges. It's not that hard really.
Yea I could never get Lineage 2 to run twice on my one computer, so I just built another computer and have been good to go since then. Now if I had more time to play I would probably a little farther along with my 2 toons but hey just started back up about 2 weeks ago.
LOL come on the Sieg Server, join my clan and my Prophet would buff you anytime you need it. (Eeverytime I'm on) I'm the only Prophet in my clan, and the only true, active one. So everytime I see either my clan or Allies, in town or anywhere, I fully buff them. I think they're spoiled. :cool:
I have two accounts, but I didn't always 2-box. I levelled the SH and SK to A grade without benefit of a buffbot.
But after buying my second computer (as an upgrade over the first PC), I decided that I wanted a second account, initially for a dwarf so that I could sell my ++++ weapons and crafts while I hunted with the other alts. Not long after that, the Oracle/Elder was created... for VR primarily. I'm glad that I did.
With 2-boxing, I can provide buffs around the clock for my alts on the main account, while simultaneoulsy powerleveling the SE on the second account -- as she is on auto-follow (or nearby) whenever I hunt with the higher level toon. Whenever I'm not hunting with the SE, I just park her outside of the Dion or the noob villages and give buffs all day.
Too bad NCSoft doesn't design "Buff Private Stores" for healers and buffers. Walk right up and get your WW for 10,000a. :D

/agree. if lineage2 is a game about friends and enemies, dualboxing shouldnt be allowed. i have a WC friend that has been leveling exclusively with his buffer, a BD. you know what this means? no buffs for anyone else. sure you CAN play by yourself in the corner, but thats not the point of the game.
Not all two boxers only buff themselves and not all of them only want to play alone. I'm more than happy to play with friends and I'll gladly play only one character if they object to two.
for a large range of levels, duos are better than trios for xp. it is simply more efficient to dualbox than it is to party, because you have to spend time, omg, coordinating with the other person(s) on where you want to xp.
edit: i have yet to see someone who is 3+ boxing without using illegal software, and im sure many people that dualbox are very tempted to use it. how can dualboxing be a good thing, unless all you care about is xp?

Well I cant say either way how someone should or shouldnt play. we all have our ways of playing. Recently I was told I play the wrong game because I prefer to solo more than party.But more than anything thats for the safety of others :) I get brave in this game alot and go places I should be. and get owned. now lets say I bring a healer with me. alot of times I cant depend on alot of healers. prefer to spend the money on pots because I watch my hp better than anyone. so rather than bringing friends along to get killed with me. I wonder around alone alot. there is some method to my madness. But I dont want to say how I think others should play the game. Im just more the adventurer type and alot of people arent ok with dying 10+ times a day. me on the other hand. it dont really bother me much. sorry I went off into a bit of a rant there. basically all im saying. If someone wants to dual box thats fine with me. But I would hope no one questions again why I dont follow the same practice. :cool:

they switched it or are going to switch it so macros cancel if you switch to another window. So you cant quick run a macro and switch back to your main. It is safe to say they are very much anti dual boxing. The only other way to run macros is through botting i suppose.
xp is better with a buff bot, and why sit around and wait and wait for someone to pick you up to lvl in their group for an hour then to sit around waiting for a group. I took the time to lvl my porphet, I'll be ****d if I can't use him the way I want.

lol believe me i understand the point your making. they only get to charge me for 1 account. Im not sure if NC is making the choice for players to dual box. Its more of an individual players choice. I dont disagree with it. I just dont have the skills to do it myself. that and I cant afford another pc and account. Im also not really into trying to be the highest level or have the best gear. So finding ways to play other than the way I do just dont appeal to me. I can tell you right now I will never see level 78.But I also enjoy every minute I spend in the game.Im not envious of other players levels or gear and would rather not question how some of them got there. so yeah I undertsand what your saying. I just dont care if someone is better than me and have found alterntive methoods to make them better players. im sorry for all this sloooooow day at work :p
I rolled a Warcrier for my second box a few months ago, i run two clients on one comp. I love it. I bring both to party's when theres room, dump him if someone else wants to come around. I can solo when none of my clan mates are on ect.
Its just been more fun for me. It's also been great for leveling my warsmith because i couldnt get her into partys that often, because they dont add much to a leveling party.

Yes. If you own more than one game account, then you may use both freely at the same time. Ideally, Lineage II should be run by itself and running two clients on the same computer can put a lot of strain on your system's resources. While this style of play is not illegal, it is not supported and any loss generated as a result of this may not be reversible by the Lineage II Support Team.
A second option for running two accounts that has been used by players is having two different computers run separate clients side by side. Again, this style of play is not recommended, as you will have to split your attention while playing; however, this as well is not illegal.
As always, the use of third-party software to automate game play on any of your accounts is a violation of the User Agreement, and may result in the permanent closure of your accounts.
I two box mostly because I get this stuff when in party "sry clan business gtg" or "was pm'd by buddy" or "phone" or " sry bad lag" "or sry you died was having convesation with freind" but not all party members do this some actully pay attention to the game and know how to work togeather as far as my"buff bot" goes y'all know how gimped healers get after 35 or so well i hand them a weapon with less patk than me and let them fight they do more than heal/buff and on more than one ocasion have saved my butt when my sys with my main crashed by finishing of the mob. As far as ease of running 2nd box I do that on another sys. and use a Nostrimo N 52 speed pad, just set up keys for "F' keys and use in game macros. The bigest problem I find with this is that my second account cant hold a conversation with me it's allways nice to have freind around you can kid with and trade ideas. But for most part my 2nd allways does what I want it to do when I want it to(except when I get this "target too far") But anyway however you like to play remember "enjoy and have fun"
