My question is this, when I reach lvl do and I purchase my Orcish Poleaxe (which on Devianne is extremely hard to find) which SA should I look to put on it? And for what reason?
I was thinking Long Blow so that I have a greater area of effect but I guess I am not sure really what Wide Blow does and how it differs from Long Blow. Also Crit Stun is that even worth looking at?
Thanks to anyone willing to post and help me in my decsion.
I'm not sure about the SA, but you can simply buy another top C weapon (SLS, emi, yaksa, etc.) and switch it to an OPA at the BS of Mammon ;)
Yea if I knew how to do that then that would be a great option. I will have to look into that, any suggestions on where I could look to get some info to read on what I need to do to access him?

I'm pretty sure long blow allows you to hit mobs a little bit farther away, while wide blow increases your AoE.
That would make sense to me, so I would either get wide blow or crit stun. Just curious if anyone with experiance with a pole arm could tell me which one would be best. Of course I could just buy one and if I didn't like it try and resell it then get the other.

After a week of competing for the seals the winning side gets the catacombs/necropolises (or necropoli, whatever the plural is) for themselves and the BS (cata) and Trader (necro) show up there every now and then.
Wideblow is the easiest SA to use. Once you are experienced and learn how to use the corners of a wall and pull the mobs on the right angle the best SA is crit stun.
To get orc poleaxe you buy a regular poleaxe from the Giran lux shop using D and C crystals. Then you get about 2M AA and visit the blacksmith of mammon. You can upgrade the poleaxe to orcish poleaxe. Note that when you upgrade all enchantments are LOST and you can only upgrade a weapon with no SA on it! So don't use EWC or put an SA on the poleaxe before upgrading.
Now, another option is the poleaxe. The poleaxe now has the option for wideblow SA. Orc pole +3 has 165 patk. Poleaxe+6 has patk 166. So if you want the same patk as orc poleaxe you have to OE the poleaxe. But it will be a lot easier to sell an OE poleaxe than an orcish poleaxe. You can exchange between items of equal crystal value (like DS, homunkulus, war axe) without losing enchantments; but the weapon can't have an SA on it.
my ws was loaned an orcish poleax with wideblow..i used it for the first time last night. Stuff around me seemed to get hit better....but the ones second row in front of me didn't get scratched. I'm assuming that explains 'wide' blow and would show the advantage of long blow.
That being said--most aggro mobs don't line up 3 deep out in front of you. They tend to step to the side and move to either right or left---depends on how many you pull.
We were doing up to 7 croakian lads in alligator with myself and healer and they fell fairly well---with that number they tended to spread out a bit in front and to the sides of me. My impression was that wide blow was an advantage.
Haven't played with it more than a couple hours as yet.
I have used polearms alot(lvled a warlord and a destroyer 52+ using them) and I would recommend crit stun. If you get focus buffs it lands quite alot and you will take less damage. I have actually seen 2 warlords stun a group of about 15 mobs using only the crit stun SA. Wide blow and Long blow are ok, but not realy worth it in compariosn.
Thank you to all that replied, I ended up finding a Orcish Poleaxe last night. I put Crit Stun on it and made it +4 as of right now. We will see if I can get it to +6 :)
