Well, after many attempts I am just going to give up. I hit the 'sale' button within 1 second of it turning exactly 8:06pm synched up with the world clock which means it is exact. I never make it in time though. Are the bots fast enough to make it within a millisecond of 8:06? I give up on the manor, the only option always seems to lead to ebay or something like that :*(**
Actually, 8:06 pm cst (which I am) is correct because I know seeds become available for purchase at 8:06 exactly as well as all the seeds are traded in by the time I try to sell them a second time so yes, 8:06 is correct.
No, I know 8:06 is correct. I was saying using the world clock doesn't seem like it's correct. The world clock you speak of is the "in game" clock right? That's what I thought anyways <.<
oh, no no i play the game in windowed mode and use my computer clock. Right when i hit the sell button I get the 'unable to sell back' and then I go back and no seeds are being bought so I know I am exactly right but my finger cant click that first millisecond...I remember some people here saying that the human person right on time is faster than bots but I dont know.
i just spam from 9:05 onward, and get them traded about 60% of the time (60% in L2 terms means about 30% right?). but if MalineII shows up, i run off to another town, since i know i cant win >.< but its not like the fruits go away, and it only takes a few minutes each day to try again...gl next time :(
maybe i need to move to a lower population server...anyway, I dont mind going for a less profitable seed but it seems the only two between level 34-40 are varnish reward or animal bone reward and those i dont stand a chance of getting...I try to keep my spoiler around lvl 40 so he can farm varnish and leather easily and its an extra bonus if i can use the seeds on the mobs in the area that dont spoil anything good or when i am out of mp but it seems once again players lose.
I haven't use the manor system, but I play a BH. Our lil robot friends in apostate can prolly rake in about 5k animal bones per day there. I know I made 2k in one day of solid grinding, but I need sleep, they don't.
Considering the amounts of /socialdances and "YAYs!" that go down near manor managers at the hand-in time, I would reckon that walker obviously not "> all", but only " > most". But then, from the people who don't even use a radio-controlled clock and just prefer to spam instead, how will you know if it was walker or a well-timed twitch of a finger that beat them?
I will admit that the one botted/farmed seed I did left me stumped for two nights - but the first of those nights, I blinked at a bad moment (didn't use a clock with seconds at the time), and the one after I know I hesitated about 1 or 2 seconds after I saw the minute jump, so that was probably more of a coincidence than anything else.
Quantities do matter - and because people know this, it works even better. Basically, enough people have the popular hand-ins reserved that anything above 1 second or so is definitely futile - in that one second, more people than will manage to hand in attempt to hand in.
The larger the chunk you try to hand in (i.e. the more greedy you're being), the large the chance that by that time, the total quantity between you and the manor has already been handed in.
As an example - if you try to hand in 2500 of 3000 available seeds, only two people handing in 300 each need to be faster than you. If you're handing in 300, 9 people can be faster than you and you may still get it.
And now shoot me, because I'm sure I've just made myself real player competition, as if the farmers weren't enough to go up against. >.<

I can get 2k bones in 5 hours of solid grind in apostate, soloing a 8 mob room near the entrance. So I'd say they get about 10k bones in a day.

Yes, I understand these principles and pride myself on being conscious of ways to make money and understanding the economy (strangely probably my favorite part of the game is trying to figure out how to make money lol).
What you say does make sense and I figure almost everybody turning seeds in is turning in the max amount (considering bots seed in the catacombs where you get 4x return on seeds). I guess I can try lower amounts but I need to make sure I am doing this right.
This is what I do
Open the manor window
Select 'Tally up indigineous product'
Select the city I collected for
Instert number to buy back (within limit)
Wait for the clock and when it hits exactly 8:06 on the dot I click the 'Sale' button.
Now, if the sale is not a success I have to go back to 'tally up indigenous product' and go through the whole system again which I know will be much much much too late.
Am I doing this right? I can have the window open as long as I want and just need to click the 'Sale' button, correct? I will just make a daily effort and maybe some other towns have better chances of turning in seeds like heine or something.
*curls up in a corner somewhere and whimpers to herself*

You need not sell to the town to which collected - choose the highest reward one, or the one you're standing in, depending on your priorities.
Take one night to observe if you got a message indicating the manor still being under maintenance or whether it was just sold out. If it was still under maintenance, open the seed buy window overtop your tally window, input some seeds you would like to buy, and when the clock hits 6 past, doubleclick. That usually gives you the right timeframe to hand in if you're a bit too trigger-happy.
And once again - if you hand in maximum amount, one person needs to be faster than you and your whole deal breaks: That's a certain way down the road into frustration.
And now no more tips out of me, because there isn't enough buyback for all the seeds, and I still need some for myself. ;)
PS: "Hence the reason" makes no sense. :/ Either use hence by itself or "This is the reason".

Steps are correct (you can pick any town)
Try turning in less desirable crops.
If you really want to turn in something and cant.... because youve tried every sigle day... try in a town with the second best prices and not best prices. You may get a few less mats but at least you will have more chance at turning them in!
btw: I dont wait till a specific time to click once... I just start clicking like mad at 9:05. So I dont know if the manor actually resets at exactly the same time
just give it up, it's a system made to support , and used by botters... nothing else. Just keep in mind that 'fair play' in L2 doesn't count, but that's nothing new now is it.
Last night was very very strange! It seemed that the manor took a few seconds longer than it usually did. I accidentally clicked a wrong button and still had 5-15 seconds to turn in seed...very very unusual but no complaints here!
agree with shrimpstoo--i've only manored a few times and I always have smaller turn-ins. But once I figured out it was 9:06 est on my server I've never been frozen out.
As far as I can see the manor system works at the lower levels and I've probably at least done an example of the most popular seed types through level 35-40 at least once or twice.
Every time I read a post "manor system broken" on this forum I'm never sure exactly what that means. It seems to work most of the time for me.
no offense drakos but depending on your server and since you only have turned in the popular seeds once or twice that really doesnt make it a valid point. Pretty much Bartz is the hardest server that I have seen to do manor due to the huge population of players and botters. I have played on some of the other servers and it was never really that big of a problem on the few I played.
