Light vs Heavy

My friend made a Orc Fighter aiming for becomming destroyer. His question is if he should be using Light or Heavy armor and why?

And my own lil question here... at around wich lvl should one start using the manor system? I did play around with it a lil but being Dark Elf Mystic I don't like that I actualy have to get up close to use the seed.
It's generally better to use heavy armor if your class gets the masteries for it, unless you really really want a light armor set bonus (such as PL).

You should start using the manor system as soon as you can get some seeds that result in wanted materials. A lot of ranged classes actually make seeding alts, since it isn't very convenient for them.
PL?

Heh.. how does one know wich materials are wanted?
PL=Plated Leather, gives a strength bonus, but for a Destroyer, definitely go heavy. And you should use the manor system as soon as you can. It isnt easy as a wizard, but it is possible. The sooner you start to use it the sooner you can start to build up mats that you can sell, or use to craft.
So.. The mats I get I should not sell to the vendor?
Depends, base mats like bone, suede, thread, iron, etc. you should hold on to, or sell to other players(check prices around giran first to get an idea of the value). As far as the item pieces like helmet parts, or armor designs, I would say it depends on the armor. Generally, anything c grade or higher you could sell to anothe player for more money than the shop. Or you could keep it and craft and then sell the item.
