Ok, so after 2boxing for a while now, I am getting greedy recently as some people posted they 3box. I used to 2box fighter/buffer, but recently I started 2boxing fighter/fighter and am quite happy with it. I am my own party. But the thought of having fighter/fighter/buffer is just too much to say no to :D. Since I only have 2 accounts now, obviously I am not going to roll a 3rd account buffer, it will have to be a new fighter so I can give it good buffs.
However I only have the choice of warcryer or prophet both the same lvl 48. The new account will be an archer as I have a tank on the main computer. So if you were me :p, would you stick with the warcryer as the buffer since it gets way better buffs, but only at way higher lvls, or go with the prophet.
They have to buff an archer/tank. VR is nice, but its useless to my archer.
Warcryer? Prophet? **** $45 a month. Well if you think about it, I would of spent that money buying a new console game or new pc game every month anyway :D.
I'd probably go with prophet, though wc gets agility. I don't know how much you value that buff =) -On the other hand, wc doesn't get focus 3 till 68, so...
do not yell at anyone trying to get a party, that they should get another account or something. To many people are 2 boxing and even 3 boxing and then telling others that can only afford or only play one toon at a time, or only has one toon worth playing, and trying to get a party or do something.
There advantages of 2/3 boxing:
You get mostly if not ALL the drops to yourself, mats galore
you get all your toons lvled up
you get constant buffs and benifits
you get all the adena
you powerlvl yourself beyond reason
you can solo any place pretty much
you don't have to rely on no body at all by yourself and your multi tasking skills.
Yes, you get all those, and those with one account get none of that, and i've seen it, NOT SAYING you are like that, but people with more then one account to box around, end up or always have been jerks and usually can't figure out why no one can't make any adena, or can't craft anything or can't solo or any of that garbage... it's because your working the areas that get the drops, and you get all the drops.. and all the adena that you can pool together for your main main toon)
Lol, I've made up my mind while out at lunch (Just got back to "work"). I will stick with the prophet simply because it will be a freekin pain to lvl the warcryer to like 58 for vr2 or something similar.
just whatever you do...

Lol I am only mean to those who deserve it. And no matter if 6 box, as long as its someone I need and sometimes dont, but theyre nice and dont mind sharing exp even with the buffbot I will party. I am not about to reroll a sws or bd, but if one is looking for a group around my lvl I always invite.
But then again I am very sick of the 7 sign crap, spending weeks in catacombs, so I usually go to places no one else does where the exp is not even close, but at least it's a change of scenery. So I pretty much solo most of the time. I could do with 2boxing, but 3boxing is tempting, and since my 2nd computer can handle 2 accounts easily then why not.

Though all of that is true, it also takes about 3 times longer to get to same lvl as others who 1 box simply because I have to lvl 3 characters, and seeing how I play 2 or 3 hours a day, I don't expect A gear anytime soon. But then again, only 1 character will use soulshots in pve so that's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalottttttttttttttt of savings right there.
Though all of that is true, it also takes about 3 times longer to get to same lvl as others who 1 box simply because I have to lvl 3 characters,
This should not be the case.
1- Each character can, if you choose, be directly or indirectly contributing to the kill count. Nothing stops you from simply getting 3x (or more) the kills per hour that a solo player would.
2- Party experience bonuses. You will constantly have them. With 3 people, I believe you're getting upwards of a 40% bonus per kill.
Thus...
One person: 100%
Three characters: 3*1.4 / 3...140%
This is a small portion of the reason some people multi-box to level faster.
Edit: just to clarify, quite often a trio will not be killing three times as fast. It is, of course, quite possible--it simply doesn't happen often due to it requiring special attention to a variety of factors and, in the case of a multiboxer, a heck of a lot more work. However, even if you only killed twice as effectively rather than three times as effectively (which should be trivial) you will be almost breaking even on experience.
Well the account has been made. Now I just have to speed up time with my super powers and make it so it's 5 already so I can go home, and then slow it down so I reach lvl 40 in one night....**** my imagination...
On topic to your post, that's why I said about 3 times, because of the party bonus. The buffer can't really do a **** thing because im not about to alt/tab every 2 seconds to give a command to the 3rd account. Only the first 2 will be attacking. The buffer just buffs and eats exp.
However I can see your point and it makes a lot of sense. The more reason to start applying it.

This is true. I created an Abyss Walker and Prophet in a very short time dual-boxing (dual-instancing, actually). Having constant buffs/heals makes leveling fast.

no it's not... lets say you are getting 150% of xp from mob, each char is only getting 50% of what they would get solo. Also if we are talking 1x hp mob, a nuker can kill faster then a melee trio due to running into range, and simply a nuker can fire 2 nukes before a melee charges ss. Also the field mob xp bonus means solo > duo/trio as long as u don't get bored.
I think you should rethink your 1 man party combination.
Here are the problems with the archer/tank combo regardless of which buffer you choose. Your tank will not be able to maintain the aggro, your archer will not be able to maintain mana, and as a ranged class your archer will constantly pick up aggro.
If you are set on keeping the tank, I would suggest a BD or Dagger as the second DD. BD would be the ultimate choice in my opinion as you will benefit from his dance as well. Dagger is melee like the tank and puts out a tremendous amount more damage. In both of these combinations, I would choose the WC. While the highest level buffs come later, you will still benefit from VR tremendously.
If you are not stuck on keeping the tank, BD/Dagger would make a better combination for melee, still keeping the WC as the buffer. If you have your heart set on an archer, concider making 2 archers and use the prophet.
It's not easy to figure it out lol. I know I wont bother with the math. But I can see it both ways. Solo getting more exp, party getting more exp. Though I tend to lean toward party simply because they exist and they do get bonuses.
Also buffs have to be taken into consideration. A party is more likely to have buffs than a solo person. Otherwise why would you party anyone if you have buffs at all times and you do good damage.
Also the field mob xp bonus means solo > duo/trio as long as u don't get bored.
For my Sorc/SE duo, the experience is unquestionably faster than the Sorc would get solo.
Fighting 1x's:
With buffs, he is one-shotting the monsters instead of Prom+Bolt, which means the actual kills come faster. Recharges mean he never runs low on MP, so over the course of an hour or two, he is getting more kills a second way. Also possible for the SE to score the odd kill while the nuker is fighting other things.
Fighting 2x or more:
It generally takes one hit per x of the monster's HP for the nuker, and here the SE can easily actually contribute to the kill speed by targetting something else and attacking that while the nuker does his thing. Still no downtime or significant risk.
Sorc+SE is empower -> more kills per minute, no downtime -> more kills per hour, group experience bonus is a freebie, practically no risk -> average of 0 experience loss...
Yes, even on field monsters it can be faster experience with minimal effort. As a fringe benefit, it takes me longer to get bored, which is both more fun and more experience per day.
Ok, so after 2boxing for a while now, I am getting greedy recently as some people posted they 3box.
>.< ...!
Ok, so its not enough to have 3 accounts, now i need four, so that i can make my own clan level 5, all by myself
Ok, so people hate me now so i need another account devoted entirely to perma-red characters so i can kill people who try to train my characters while not disturbing my xp gain
Ok, so im having a really hard time controlling all 7 accounts in a seige, i keep trying to get oren by myself but its not working, maybe i should get 2 more so i can have a full party? hey if im giving NCSoft 135$ a month, they pretty much owe me a castle, right?
one account, one person. some people think this is the "hardcore" way to play, but really, its the way L2 was Meant to be played. "hardcore" playing is not using ss until level 70.
I use 3 setup and right now my Prophet is lvl59 and my SE is 58 so they are buffing, healing, recharging oop (out of party).
My main setup is my Spellhowler lvl62 who I level in the VoS where I can kill none stop due to the Greater Acumen, Empover 3, BtB, Magic Barrier, Resist Fire, rechare and so on.
With my SH supported fully by oop SE+PP I can make like 20% pr. hour..... and thats in lvl62, so its very fast lvling. A side effect is that I get like 400-450k adena + a lot of keymats for each hour I play.
My other setup is a WS lvl50 + BH lvl48 and a SE oop for buff, recharge, heal. I get like 30-40% an hour for each of my two dwarfs.
Last setup is my Gladiator-wanna-be lvl39 + a frined Hawkeye-wanna-be lvl49 who party and get PP+SE buff out of party.
We level in the Necros/cats by using polearm and bow. We get like 60-70% each char for each hour and that for lvl39 chars.
So all-in-all if you can get a good combination then you are going to lvl very fast. Ofcause the initial time it takes to get your SE+PP or whatever buffer u choose up to a good lvl is rather heavy. I used my SH to power lvl my SE+PP :)
Last comment : Not all 2/3boxers are jerks, well I know I'm not :) I usually throws buffs at everyone else I can afford the MP for. So a lot of ppl gets so happy when they get top PP+SE buff even when they havent asked :)
Also I a guy comes running and screaming "HEEEEELP" with 6-8 mobs after him, I usually stops my fight to help and quicck-switch to my SE go give him heals.
Good luck on your upcomming 3box..... and as an other person wrote earlier, I also recommendate that you "re-setup" your whole 3box account setup so u get the best out of it.
