Making a BH?

Player Questions Started Last reply 17 posts
So Im having trouble making adena in L2. I have thought of many possible solutions to help me. Playing the market is nice but I dont have enough knowledge in prices of items. So I would probably just make myself more poor. :p With both of my toons I have been saving all my mats so I can seel them when im really broke or need new gear. So thinkin like that I thought making a BH would obviously be the best way to go so I can spoil even more mats. I know about playing a dwarf and the patience it takes to level one. Had one a long time ago.Of course I would need to get together a few mil adena to get started in good gear. that shouldnt be to bad. my question is. At what lvl does spoiling start to get profitable? im sure it has to be over 40. I just want to get some other players opinions on it. maybe even some BH's can tell me something. :)
pre 40s spoiling can be very profitable actually, if combined with seeding...maybe someone with a little more knowledge can finish this. so far, i havent gotten my dwarfs too high because they bore me to death.
lvl 1-12 doesnt matter what you spoil, do the quests.
lvl 13-16 spoil goblin brigand leaders for varnish and iron.
lvl 17-20 *bang head on desk a lot, kill anything that moves*
lvl 20-24 spoil kirunaks guards for varnish and cokes.
lvl 24-28 spoil ol mahums in abandoned camp.
lvl 28-34 spoil ol mahum raiders for bones and iron.
lvl 34+ ??
combine these with red coda and chilly coda seeds and you can make some nice money before level 40. dont think you should use seeding on the raiders tho, since they drop bones pretty often. also, get the quest in gludin for killing ol mahums from that leopald guy. also, browse around on the forums for some money making tips, there are plenty.
Bones seem to be the most valuable profit a dwarf can make at the moment, buy shops are paying 1k for 1 Animal bone because a rediculous amount is needed for crafting A-G.
You don't need to get to level 40 to start to make money. Get your dwarf to level 17 or so, head to Gludin and use Red Coda (Vanish,) Blue Coda (Crafted Leather,) or Chilly Coda (Ori Ore) while spoiling the Brown Bears (Animal bones.) When you level past the bears, pick another mob/seed combo that gives materials your server has high prices on. Sell the mats in Giran, and you will be fine.

I don't think you will need a million adeana to equip the dwarf either, bronze set (60K +boots, gloves, helmet) is fine, and blunt or polearm (260k) should do it.
cool thanks for the answers. Ill get to work on it right away tonight. HOPEFULLY this help me with my money issues.
Just as a warning, leveling a dorf is about as much fun as a full body wax (not that I would know).

well you know...I have to find some way to support my OE addiction. :p

and thats prolly not it

i suggest you study the market a bit
learn what mat is severly overpriced and try to manor for it
"Try" is the key word. Success rates on the manors are very low lately, thanks in large part to the bots.
yeah im goin to stay away from manor. I started my dwarf last night. Got him to lvl 14. already have spoiled a few NG key mats. I think this is going to help alot.
what ever you do dont craft ng
another quick money maker is to hunt for lowbie mat recs
hard to beleave but ppl will pay good money for something like a coke or steel rec

When you kill a monster you get drops from it. Adena or items, or materials.

Dwarves who go on to becoming scavengers/bounty hunters get a skill called "spoil" which you use before you kill a monster. This changes the monster inside and it can drop other materials, items that you cannot get without spoil if you normally killed a monster.

It is a great skill and bounty hunters wouldn't be bounty hunters without it :D.

Edit: So for example, you target a monster, you use the spoil skill, you kill the monster. If it is successful, the monster glows blue for a while, and stays on the ground for you to pick things from it.
The Monster Eye Searchers outside Dion are nice spoils.
ahhhhhhh interesting! Thanks for the info :)
With the spoil skill comes the sweep skill, that you use to pick up the extra materials you get when a spoiled mob turns blue.
