I have a lvl 28 wizard and I am trying to make money so I decided to buy seeds. I bought them from gludin monor guy and I got lute codas - lvl 20 to 30 range. I am not getting 100% harvesting rate and also I was wanting to find out which are the best mobs for that seed based on my lvl, its just im sure I read it was possible to get 100% if there was five lvls difference or something ? ....Is that meaning me being 5 lvls higher than the mob within the seed range as well?
If someone could explain this and the best methods for me to farm it would be appreciated
For the best efficiency, you, the mob and the seed should all be the same level. As one element gets further away, the success percentage goes down.
BUT, lute coda is a special case. Until C4, that seed was bugged. It seemed to work like it was a seed about 10 levels higher than its description; it would fail over half the time on level 25 mobs. The effect seems to have been fixed in C4, but not completely.
The best method to use this, and any, seed is to use it on multi-HP mobs. Necro of Sacrifice and the Forgotten Temple have such mobs. You will need a healer tho, as those mobs are social, and hit hard.
My experience is that the lute coda works well on the androscopios and basilisks in the Wasteland, but not well on the Ol Mahum's surrounding it to the north. I haven't tried it on the Ol Mahum Van's to the south.
try the ant nest. there is a wide range of levels there, losts of x2 mobs, and everything there is weak to your fireball spell. they should go down pretty easy but the spawn rate is also pretty high so you should be very careful. there are a couple hallways that look very crowded with ants but they are passive just walk by them for the good ones. captains and soldiers are aggro. might be a good idea to take a couple people with you the first time you go there.
Certain seeds have a very easy chance to sow and harvest while others have a harder chance. Pretty much like how certain mobs give extra SP if they are 'harder' mobs. (Aka archer mobs usually have a good 20% or so XP bonus.)
Lute Coda's just happen to be one of the harder to use seeds.
What you can do is sow the harder seeds on 'harder' mobs (2x hp or such) in order to raise your chance to seed/harvest. It's not confimed but some evidence points to the probability that the sow/harvest rate is tied to the XP of a mob. (Higher XP equals a better %.) This usually means that xHP mobs are better anyway, but if you cant take those easy you might be able to sow on other mobs instead. AKA if your a tank, 1xHP archer mobs might be easier to kill than 4xHP catacomb mobs and the bonus may be enough to make the seed more profitable.
Another note, it's not worth it to sow if your level is below the seeds, but it's very possible (and sometimes better!) to sow above (up to 10 levels) the seeds level. Just be sure that the mobs are green or white to you as going blue/purple or yellow/pink/red usually takes a bit hit on your success rate.
thanks when you say 10 lvls diference though do you mean the player is best to be 10 lvl highrt than the seed range or the mob>?
This is a bit tricky to keep straight, but I'll see if I can explain it clearly.
There are two 'levels' to keep in mind.
1) Your Characters Level
2) The Seeds Level Range
For the Seeds Level range there is a Min and a Max. Offhand I can't remember what the exact min/max is, although I do have the 'mid point' recorded as given by the seed table info each manor agent has for you to read. I think it's a 10 level range though. So if Lute Coda is a L25 seed (Mid) then it's range is L20 to L30.
For sowing, the seeds have a kind of 'Grade Penalty' that is related to their Minimum level. What this means in practice is that your characters level must be at least as high as the seeds minimum level for a good sow rate. For every level below the seeds minimum level your character is there is a fairly strong penalty. (Estimated 20% or so?) And when I say 10 levels above, I am talking about your characters Level in relation to the seeds maximum level.
So if you are using Lute Coda as an example (L20-30 seed range), then your ability to use this seed would be from your characters level of 20 to roughly character L40. If it helps, you can think of the 'sowing' as a type of magic attack that start to have 'failures' as you exceed the level of the seed. So from character Level 30 to 40 the seed will occasionaly 'fail' by default (aka 1/2 damage or 1pt damage) but will recieve a greater sowing 'bonus' due to the target mobs XP/HP so that the actual effective rate is greater than when you are seeding mobs within the actual level range of the seed. Once you go 10 levels over the failures tend to override the HP/XP bonuses by enough that the seed stops being useful.
This is a lot like how a Healer can use their pre 1st class change Nukes to level up for a good 5-10 levels into their next class before they start to 'Fail' enough that they are no longer useful. Just think of the next higher seed as the next level of a 'sowing' attack if you will.
For harvesting, the actual rate at which mobs 'fail to harvest' seems to be more related to their color. That is to say, I can't remember a single harvest failure when I am seeding mobs that are green or white, but I can definately remember the failures on light blue mobs and lower even though the actual 'sow' succeeded.
