I believe that all the final job-changes at level 40 are done at your race's highest dude in Giran. Go to the Dark Elven Training Hall along the West hallway (near the Blacksmith) and click on the dude with the highest sounding name.

Don't forget to manor. Don't forget to do the coin quest. Those are the best ways to make adena at your level.
Buy C crystals during the 7 signs reward period when C grade weapon scrolls are most abundant. The more scrolls, the more likely you'll have overenchanters blowing up their weapons and needing to sell the crystals fast. Set up a private store buying them at 2700a. You'd be surprised how many hits you get.
That said, you could also resell those same C crystals at 3000-3200a and make a nice profit.
May I ask is there a staff in the Luxury shop that particularly appeals to you? Just curious.
Hi, I will probably save for the crystal staff although depending on how I go I may go for the more expensive one (sages). I've found the best way to make adena is use my dorf to offload all the stuff I get from drops, eg recipes etc. I tried manor a few times but seemed to die a lot quicker because of my lack of good armour. Also I could never sell the **** stuff back as the bots had beat me to it. I'd prefer a heathens book because its one handed but it would be too expensive in this bloated economy. Any hints tips would be appreciated :) regards cat
If you can afford it, aim for one of the more expensive weapons in the crystal shop - doesn't matter which. Dark Screamer works fine, as does WarAxe and Akat bow, probably a numer of others as well.
Do this in the 7 signs reward week, after you have signed up for the event in the quest week.
Then find the Blacksmith of Mammon in one of the Catacombs (first room after porting inside, if he's there). And exchange your high lux-shop weapon for a Homunkulus Sword (or Inferno Staff for +looks -shield). Then, when you have some more adena, buy a level 7 Red soul crystal and go to a town Blacksmith and put Acumen SA on your sword/staff.
Untill you're able to do this, you might stick to your D grade weapon and skip the low Cs.
Hi, Opps I'd already bought the Crystal Staff when I read your reply. :(. But... I sold the Crystal Staff for 5.5 mill saved up a few more biccys (bought sold xtals). Then bought a Homun.....(cant spell it lol) Sword thingy. I now have to figure out how to get Acumen on it. Question though, I have a soul crystal 1 level above what I need, can (or is it practical ) to use that as my enchantment crystal?? regards Cat :p
No, I believe you can't use a crystal on the wrong level (even higher). You might want to try to sell/trade yours. Depending on the demand for this specific types of crystals, this may be easy or difficult.
Well, also if you play on Teon I might be able to help. I think I got one lvl 7 in the last event, not 100% sure of the colour though.
Hi Guys, I tried a crystal above, and of course it said "you do not have the required ingredients". Question though, I thought I'd do it the hard way (I shouted in Giran/Erica last night but no response for a red lvl7 :(), so I got some "blanks" and am trying to level them. Now question is, is it the usual L2 thing where it takes ages to get a soul?. I keep getting "crystal could not absorb the soul", or something like that (Only 1 in inventory). regards Cat
Yes, it's the usual L2 thing where it takes you some time to level a crystal. Patience and persistence are needed.
That's why everyone else is suggesting that you sell the level 8 crystal that you have in Giran and use the adena from the sale to buy a level 7 crystal.
Also, good of you to pay attention to the messages the Soul Crystal gives. "Could not absorb a soul" just means that your attempt was unsuccessful. You will get a different message if the crystal requires hire level mobs in order to level the crystal.

I'm sorry,but you won't be able to level it on your own beyond maybe level 5 (if you're very persistant). At level 40+ you would need at least a full party for that and even then it would probably be difficult.
For solo crystal leveling, even at 60+ it is still a major pain. I'm afraid you will have to buy that crystal.

At least on Devianne, someone is almost always selling the crystals in an AFK shop in Giran, Monster Track, or Dion. You may have to check every store if the /findprivatestore feature and shouting doesn't help.
First, though, sell your level 8 crystal for current price and then go get your level 7 crystal. And try not to appear desperate. The sellers can be pretty cutthroat when they smell easy prey.

It would be difficult, without question. And yet...
Where there is a will, there is a way. At level 40 it is possible to solo a level 55 multi-xp Harit Matriarch without buffs and no weapon SA. It is one of the requirements for the Coin Quest. Isolate the Matriarch and avoid the archers -- they are lethal! If you can do that, you can level a stage 7 soul crystal.
Hi , Just found out how easy the crystal blow up!!!! :eek:. Also most of the farmer shops in Giran/Dion etc seem to be missing on Erica, have they banned them, or did the tax man catch up with them :), thanks for the help cat
