What do people think of Glads? I know someone who plays a level 40 glad, and he has been kicked out of several groups simply "because he's a gimp Gladiator." Were these just noobs being noobs, or are these characters really that gimp with the C4 nerfs? (He hasn't played this char since pre-C4)
Gladiators are decent in PvE, though easily replaceable.
In PvP, Gladiators lack M.Def and run speed to really stand a chance against anything unless they get to their opponent before they're spotted in which case their special attacks are quite devestating.
Glads are amazing at dealing damage, but theyre not wanted in party because of 2 reasons. One they dont have hate so theyre not tanks even though they are as tough if not tougher, and 2 people are freeking dumb and listen to other players who havent even played a gladiator who say theyre gimp.
Try finding a duo with a buffer/healer and you wont need nukers or archers or any other class. But dont expect to ever be invited to raids unless your with clan or friends. They probably do as bad as a tank, only a tank has hate...

And yes theyre were just noobs not knowing what theyre talking about. Gladiators are in the melee damage dealing class for a reason. Their specials deal a lot of damage if they can reach the target, it usually means death for the one being targeted.
With that said I rerolled mine :D because of one reason. I need hate. I couldn't keep the aggro off my 2nd account, so I had to reroll. I still keep my gladiator to protect the tank until it lvls up from reds, and strong mobs. I can;t expect NCSOFT to give warriors hate because its a tank skill, but something party friendly would help a lot.
Ok, just checking. I am running a BD toon atm, so he and I will make a good combo. Trouble was that he was booted from about 3 groups in half an hour... kind of discouraging. Thanks for the feedback.
the people who kicked he are morons mate if he get buffs in a grp you would end up takeing agro.
in pvp mages are the classes that can kill me but that wont be happeing in c5 any other classes i just use a blunt to stun then use duals and let rip with all my attacks and repeat also if you get into pvp expect him to be the 1 the stronger person so assist him like a [censored]. :D
If he knows how to play the class and is still getting kicked from groups, tell him to kill the whole party and move on. There idiots. Glads are one of the best melee PvE's, and yes, if you duo with him as a BD, you'll be ripping through things faster then you can target.

Noone keeps hate when a SH crits. But most of the time, no problem.
If your friend got into the group to start, then perhaps it was something he did while in group that got him kicked. What weapon is he using?
He was using top C duals at level 40. I realize Glads should utilize both blunts and duals, but having top C at 40 ought to be plenty sufficient... we don't really have enough cash to buy an extra top weapon for him AND one for me.
I duo with my buddy who is a duelist and I am a few levels from him..with our warcryer in group for buffs, we can go on for days xping, its just us who gets worn out after a while :P
As a glad, I tried using a blunt for stuns, but I realized its just wasted MP that I can be saving up to use for higher power output like TSS or blaster. In a mass pvp, I seldom run in for TSS, thats just signing my death card. I blaster everything and wait for them to come to me instead.
If a glad duos with a BD its fast non stop grinding. Just grab vamp and you wont need heal pots. Next time your bud gets kicked from a group, just start a melee group. Even though you wont kill as fast as a mage, there wont be any down time for mp.
