Which in your opinion makes the best 2 box combo? I have a 47 EE, and thought about a DA or BW. If I was going to start from scratch, pretending I don't have an EE, which 2 do you recommend leveling up together?
SE is the most versatile buffer/healer, all the important DD buffs for both fighters and nukers, VR, Emp and Recharge are main reasons to choose an SE.
However, I would reccomend Prophet for most fighters, and definitely prophet for all archers. They have awesome buffs, and can still heal you pretty decently.
well se is better for any fighter class
but the option of dropping the prophet out of party from 58-78 would tip the xp in favor of archer/prophet
im sure sh would be a close second but if you dont get the se to at least 70 the recharges would start to slow ya down
The SE can still heal over BtM quite well - I personally wouldn't level up a slave just for recharges, because they most certainly don't make up for the lost exp, unless I intended to level several nukers afterwards, which seems a bit outlandish.
Not for archers. Especially in PVP, nothing can replace a PP, for that you need several buffers :P
Well, exception is if you don't have a cheap shot bow, but I would still choose PP over SE as buffer for my archer, and I have. Leveled with Carnage from 70->77, and I would just group a recharger from time to time.

I've been thinking about that for the past 2 days as I wait for a character to be deleted...I've been looking at the skill set of an SE and PP for my archer.
Why would an SE not be better than a PP?
Recharge the mana lost, heal the archer if needed, you still have focus and death whisper, haste2 comes in a bottle, shield and might 3 the SE gets. What am I missing? Not to mention VR for when you both run out of mp and you switch to a dagger till it fills back up...
A prophet would add Berserker Spirit, bless the soul and body, and what else...? What makes a prophet a better archer buffer... I don't see it. Maybe thats what everyone thinks because its a pure buffer, but I think I'll stick with the SE over PP.
And the best duo for fun in my opinion would be bd/sws :D.
I've watched people with the SH/SE combination blow past me in levels, doing in 2-3 months what's taken me over a year. SH/SE will level fastest, I have no doubts. You'll have zero down time, and you'll kill much faster than an archer or melee.
SE/Archer would work just fine. SE gets its top buffs a little later then PP, but not a bid deal. Yes you lose Zerk, but gain recharge which can be very important depending on where you level and what spawn rate is. SE is also more versitile if you also have a dorf for crafting.
PP has Holy weapon as well, +20% dmg on undeads, undeads are everywhere! :>
The downtime with CS isn't bad, you can basically go non-stop, or at least long enough for you to need a break, ofc if you're high enough level to regen the mp used. BoP at 52 will drain you pretty fast, but at 60-65 you won't have any problems, same with Soul bow CS, 70+ is pretty good.
Who cares! Draconic Focus, PP buffs and party a BD+SE/EE :>
As for archers I'm planning on subbing an archer and using an SE. I'll have might 3, shield 3, guidance, focus, death whisper, mental shield, ww2, vr since I plan on having a dagger back up. Still have a stack of swift attack pots from the Halloween event, and I'll have recharges. Oh and better heals.
And having played a bishop as my main, I don't cry about lost exp duoing IN PARTY with the SE either :P
I use my SE for all of my alts right now and I am having a blast. I will defer to those who have used a Prophet for archers, but whether SE/SH, SE/BD, SE/SK, SE/Assassin-to-be-AW-one-day, or SE/HE, I have no complaints. As you mention, with Might, Emp, WW, Guidance, VR, Focus, Death Whisper, Shield, Recharge, and assorted other buffs, the SE is just what the doctor ordered. Levelling an SE is a good pet project to have. :D
