Well I'v seen a lot of posts about a Gladiater is a sucky class, but I totally disagree.
I'v just turned lvl40 and have equiped my Gladiator with FP set, katana*katana+5, SLS+3+Focus and an Orchish Poleaxe +3+SA Wide blow.
I tryed a little smacking on a Orch Troop group (they are yellow/light red to me) and I could smack them up within seconds :)
When it was the worst I lost like 1/3 my hp.
Well ofcause I was full buffed with top PP+SE and that truly makes a huge difference(as buff always does to all classes).
So why doesent ppl want to party with a Gladiator? It's heavy armoured and deal a huge amount of damage none stop?
I know for sure that I would be happy to party up my SH, SE, PP with a Gladiator if I saw one, they are so cool :)
lol u should try pvp its insane remember when i first turned 40 i pvped a HE in branded and pwned is ***. u should be able to tank for grps and still deal good damage. :D
Most people haven't played Glads. They just see what is publicly available, and that includes skill lists and generelizations. As for skills, Glads don't get any hate abilities, which seriously gimps their heavy armor capabilities, and their damage output just isn't high enough to keep up with a mage. Rumor has it that raid bosses in C5 will have better m.def, though, so Glads might become more desirable in raid parties at that point. As for now, that spot in the group is simply better suited for another class. That's about all there is to it for most people.
By the way, I agree with you that Glads are a very underestimated class, especially when buffed and equipped with top grade equipment. Most people don't see them that way, though, and until NC gives them some major love (or simply a taunt, which won't happen because Glads aren't even supposed to be tanks), I really doubt that will change.
The only reason they're not wanted in parties is cause people are dumb and go by the nuker>all rule. It's true nukers>all for a short time, but after theyre out of mp your out of luck. They have to b2m or rest while your stuck there waiting or soloing. A gladiator or any melee dd can go non stop with proper buffs and setup.
Another reason is because a gladiator doesnt have hate, so this is a downer especially in raids since melees do like 20 dmg and nukers 200 per hit or more.
Wait until you get dss, or tss lol. Your gonna take out all cp and half hp of an equal lvl nuker :) with just tss. Dss, and triple slash and you have yourself a dead nuker :D. And with prophet and ee buffs you will be a killing machine, pve and pvp wise.

Edit: And you will only get stronger in c5 with a new skill plus a fix to the focus sonic skill. Not to mention your skills ignoring shield defense :D
I played in Worshipers Necro yesterday and the Glad really is cutting through mobs as if it was butter.
My Glad + my HE friend and a SE+PP buffer can easily keep a yellow/light red room clean with no downtime at all :)
Also I have a Orchish Poleaxe +3 Wide blow which I equip if we are getting overrun by mobs.
I guess I'm going to play this Glad for a while now..... :)
Btw I did a PvP test against my HE friend in equal lvl in the arena and as soon as I get up-and-close he is compleatly toast :)
But if he lands a stunshot I start getting seriously troublems :)
I really dont think that glads should get Hate anyways. They are more of a DD class rather than a tank. Im not sure what lvl buffs you have, but when I was in my 40s-50s, I got lvl 70 WC buffs and straight ran through catacomb rooms without stopping or using heal pots :) That's the thing, glads have to be buffed to do well.
But when you get Lion Heart it'll help you with the stuns, but gladitors won't start to shine till you get Triple Sonic Slash :) Have you seen someone get TSS by 4 glads at the same time?? :) And oh man when you get the level 7 focus sonic, you'll be able to 1 shot some of the robes out there.
Well, yeah... Of course you're gonna do uber damage when you're 40 in top gear. I don't wanna pee on the gladiator parade, because I don't think they're a bad class. It's just not unusual to pwn when you've just entered a new grade mastery level and you have the best gear. Not to mention fully buffed.

I wuv my gladi...but unfortunatly im rerolling on gustin and making meself a shilin knight and starting up a clan...(watch out for buster brigade we're growing everyday :P)
