I'm not sure if this was actually answered . . . its not really a game question but more of a mechanics question . . .
anyhow, why is it that eveyone except the dwarf that actually spoil/sweeps gets priority of the gained item when the group is set for shared spoils?
You would think that since the dwarf has to spend MP to use the spoil and sweep skills that they would get priority as they are paying the cost of using it.
Priority how? Like all the good stuff goes to them first?
Like everytime I'm in a party (as the only dwarf) and the creature turns blue . . . my finger hits the Sweep skill. Five sweeps in a row and I was the only person who didn't reape the reward of my MP usage.
What's the point of having a spoiler in party then? by turn is fair enough and yea your not going to get the good stuff all the time, but neither do I. I'm sure it was a way to get spoilers in more parties by offering the "share" spoil stuff
If it's set to random, anybody in the party can get the item, with no priorities to any particular person. You could get several in a row, or you may not get anything for a while. If it's set to "by turn" then you'll get the item when it's your turn. Nothing magical about it.
to be honest I have no idea as I was just one of the few people invited into the group. I'm pretty sure it wasn't set for turn because someone in the party got multiple spoils, like the SS D recs.
so if a player (PC) drops an arrow or other junk, that replaces/over rides/ becomes priority over the loot dropped by a mob? what kind of crappy mechanics is that?

am I understanding that right?
No. It's just that ANYTHING picked up is included in the "rotation".
If you're paying attention, it's pretty easy to notice strange things being picked up.
My recommendation - don't group with anyone who drops stuff on the floor with the intent of screwing the rotation. People like that are the same one's who keep your gear that drops when the party has a little oops.

thats a very good tip. and you're probably 100% right on assuming that!
