Depends on what mobs you're hunting atm. Can you 2 hit them fine right now? Then up the SA on the sword. If not then do the demon. As a SH you might want the acumen first because you already hit hard enough but have low hp. The demon set will further decrease your hp although you will hit harder. Go play with the mobs. I've seen some crazy ones go acumen and that newbie set that increases cast speed.
Hi Tailchaser, I think I have that newbie set you talk about, I'm "devoted" to it :D. I'll give the SA a go as the price for the Demon Gloves is a bit outside my price range atm!. Now I just got to find someone flogging a red lvl 7 crystal, as I dont' fancy trying to do one myself, or is it easier than you think, thanks cat

Adding Acumen to Homunkulus will give you a great dps boost, and it will cost far, far less than buying a set of Demon. However, what you have to keep in mind is that the m.atk on Homu might not be enough to keep you happy for forever. Demon is something that will last as long as your nuker does. So, if you're looking for a short-term advantage that is easy and cheap, go with the Homunkulus SA. If you're looking to invest in your character more, go with the Nightmare. Just keep in mind that money put into the Homunkulus is money you will see again some day (when you sell it), whereas you will probably not want to sell the Nightmare set (so that money will not be available for a better weapon purchase if you need one). Because of that, it sounds like you might want to get the SA, but you can make a better choice based on this info.
Hi, I suppose I could give the crystal leveling thing a go, live a bit dangerously eh!, and save adena in the process. I tought I'd have a go at some alligaters and lad thingys last night, geees I then realized there double HP, was fun while I lived :eek:

Leveling crystals is probably one of the single most frustrating things you can do. However, it is very rewarding. I was cleaning out my WH and found some level 7 crystals from the pumpkin event and decided to level them in FG. Got 2 out of 3 of them to level 10 (that's 1 million adena each on Hindemith). However, I gave up after that because it is so frustrating. That, and those doom-jerks stun like crazy...

You can level your soul crystal to 7 easy. You have to hunt anyway, why not make a crystal while you're at it?
And yes, they break on rare occasion, but you can take more than one with you. You just can't have more than one in your inventory.
As a mage, it is easier to make those crystals than for any other class because you can at least sleep the beast. Good grief!
But it's your adena, spend it however you like.
The mobs needed to make stage 7 are lvl 58-60 or so. GL for lvl 40 nuker to get those. Also those mobs are social and half of those are agro, also rooms are tightly packed as well..
It's a quest that you can start when you're 45, I think. You start out with "blank" crystals. You use them on specific mobs to try and "level" them. They either do nothing, level or break. They are used to add SA (special attacks) to C grade and above weapons. Each weapons and SA requires a specific level and color of crystal.
Hi cat, I suggest buying the crystal for now unless you have friends that can help. Dying and losing gear is worst. Later you can level a crystal to recoup your cost.

Gee I always knew I'm a crappy player, cause I can't take it higher than lvl 3 for now. Tried to tackle Harit lizard and died very miserably. But I'm only 43 SK - dunno maybe mages can do it easier...

Rare ocassion? Well then I have massive bad luck :) Broke one leveling from 1 to 2 and two 2 to 3 :mad:
