Money problem

Hey i was just wanting to know how in the hell some people have soooooooo much friggin adena? Ive recently started L2 and i have a lvl 21 human warrior i use and enjoy but my problem is I can barely afford to buy soulshots for my sword not to mention the new armor and new swords i need to get.
I feel like a gimped out warrior using sword & shield and bone armor
How or what do i need to do to make some cash to buy some new gear?

my problem is I can barely afford to buy soulshots for my sword not to mention the new armor and new swords i need to get.

Your NOT supposed to be able to afford Soul Shots at your level if your a new character.
You must choose between getting fast xp or getting adena.
If you choose getting adena, I suggest you stop using SS right here and now. Hunt green and light blue mobs. Dont spam healign pots unless you got em from a quest .Same goes for using gatekeeper for porting.... walk! You will save tons on monay.

Do lots and lots of repetable quests!

More suggestions:
-Look into the manor system (lots of threads about that on forums)
-Play the market (you will be able to do that when you have more experience)
- Create a Dark Elf fighter, get a SOE, swim to Rune (do /loc to see where you are , soe when in rune territory). Walk to forrest of the dead, and pick up lazy SH's drops. You migth get killed 30X but if your lvl under level 4, trust me you dont care. You should have enough adena to afford some of your D grade. Freight it to you main using warehouse once you get back to town your main is in.

EDIT: The game is not designed for people to get the top Grade equip as soon as they get the grade masteries. Your supposed to be able to afford top D grade equip when your lvl 35-40.

The reason why people have so much money (legit) is that they know how the game works and have figured out their own way to make $. Keep in mind at higher levels mobs dont drop just 300a... and they also drop more expensive mats. Add to that intelligent players will use manor, craft their own gear, own a dwarf, buy low/sell high.... So if they reroll and make another toon, its very easy for them to equip them in top gear.

Good luck and dont give up !
my suggestion now, is take your non-grade gear and make a dwarf, spoil and use the manor, you'll get tons of mats, but don't sell the mats to the local store ( they rip you off) set up a sell shop in giran or dion, bones are selling for about 1k each on sieghardt, that's any easy way to do it. i have my dwarf using the manor, i made 3mil the other night (after 1 1/2 weeks using manor) once i sold all my bone. just take your time, you'll get the hang of it....
FYI: i've been playing since open beta...and i'm still poor, i'm just learning how to make some money...and it's starting to wrok out for me
Good Luck

This is very true.

You can actually swim a little more than halfway to Rune by taking brief advantage of some of the rock outcroppings and then when cleared of everything head straight toward rune. Maybe take a heal potion or two. When it looks like you are slightly more than halfway there type /loc

If it says rune then just die (if you are lvl 4 or under). Once in Rune run to the Forest of the dead. You will find adena all over the place. Many times there is absolutley no one around.

I had made an alt on Bartz and tried this as an experiment. I picked up over 200k of it to see how much I could get.

Other than that do repeatable quests. I remember a former clan leader and I did the fungus and spider quests about 20 times each on one saturday.

Essentially, as has been mentioned. You either grind for xp or grind for money. Then learn the market. If you see some deals, pick them up with the money you made and sell them at market price.

You can actually run to the coast north of the new player spawn place " Temple of shilien" . There sould be a small island of the cost. If you start swimming from there and swim north, your in rune territory after 10 seconds of swimming
And if you don't mind the wait, there's a boat from gludin to Rune if you save a little $ and don't mind waiting.
Ive gotten to the forest of the dead but how do i manuver around all the mean friggin stuff to get to the adena?

Eh, i think you have misunderstood a little. You need to find mobs around your lvl and kill them without using ss or sps. Even mobs lower than your lvl drop stuff, so they are a good place to start.

You don't get anything free in this game, unless you are lucky to run into some nice ppl donating.

If you are running outside Rune now, i would suggest you use a scroll of escape to get to town, or stay by the roads, so that you don't get killed. :)

you basically have to sneak around the mobs, and find a kinda spot where they are spaced out alittle, but if you're under lvl 4, who cares, grab what you can before you die, then do it again- i'm actually going to try this tonight :)

Exactly! If you went with a new character thats not equiped you dot care about dying. Try to get to go around the mobs. If they agro you , run and grab what you can!
Repeat until you have desired adena

Yes, I think this would work well with a new character under level 4. I think it will work just as well with my level 75 WS. I'll let you know.

If the SH leaving all those drops finds you picking up "his" drops, you better prepare for some pvp ;) Cause apparently they dont like it. Lol Anyways, that discussion belongs in the other thread

Seriously, take that to heart. I don't always pick up my drops right away and if I see you picking them up, there will be consequences and repurcussions.

What consequeinces can be there for a lvl 3 alt? :P

Not much. But simple minds have simple pleasures.

I would cast "Slow" and sit back and watch the poor noob pick up drops at greatly reduced speeds. If he can dodge all of the faster aggro mobs and get all of the drops, they're his/hers to keep.

That's if the noob didn't have the decency to simply ask me to collect the drops in the first place -- which more than likely I would have permitted. :)

lol.. that would be funny. However, I believe you can only slow him if he is purple.

So, to anyone trying this with a lvl "3" or "4" alt... don't try to flag.

;)

Just so you know its vewry hard starting out as a new player. Most of the people you see at your lvl are rerolls from people who have alot of adena, they have friends in game who gave them gear or they cheated (you can find plenty of threads about that subject).

What most new playes don't relise is there is actually 2 seperate games inside the world of lineage.

1) First is the one you know running around killing mobs and lvl called PVE. At higher lvl's fighting and killing other players called PVP.

2) the second game inside lineage is the economy. It is the hardest part of the game to learn. From personal experience you can get anything you need for your toon by playing the market. There are several threads on this forums that will give you ideas for playing the market.

The biggest thing you need to relise as a new player is you can't grind your heart out every day to gain lvl's and afford to upgrade your gear at the same time. You have to split your time in game with playing the market, manoring or buying and selling in private stores.

Best advice I can give you is when your at the computer grind, gain xp and learn how to play your class. When your done for the night set up a buy or sell shop go to windows mode minimise and forget about. If im not grinding I have an AFK (away from keyboard) store setup.

Search the forums look for things you can do to make adena. Just a little note, you really don't need to pay the high prices for top grade equipment until you get to B grade and above and this is only because of PVP. you can lvl quite fine in low or mid grade equipment and weapon.
There are 2 kind of players in this game.
1 - Players that enjoy RPG and they try hard to lvl up, earn money and equip themselfs. For these guys there are all «political correct» ways to make that (quests, manor system, fishing, hunting green mobs, crafting, play the market, etc).
2- Players that BUY adena from other players throught specialized sites. I have seen lots of chars with NO experience in L2 (they dont know how to recoment someone or what karma score is) - that means they are very new players - to wear Top D grade armor, have over enchanded Top D duals and broke them with no concern when they try to make them +10!!!!! The next day these guys have the same weapon and try to find EWD to make enchantments again.
Where these noobs 21 lvl with NO idea about game mechanics earn all that tons of adena???? They simple bought it giving real money!!! That is why all that bots farm 24/7....they collect money to provide their new customers!!
So its up to u which type of player you are...according to that you can deal with your money problem you (we all) have :)
