Dwarven Shops

K well Ive crafted over 460k DSS (it was a splurge :P) and I have had two dwarves sitting right next to eachother in the middle of the road in Dion only differences are one is a Old Fat man with over 100k Dss for sale and the other is a lvl 5 Girly 12 year old with only 38k Dss for sale. At first they were selling out preety speedly and at an equal rate. The market has seemed to cool down but now im curiouse because the girly dwarf is still selling while the Old fat dwarf (all though he has 5times as much DSS for sale) hasnt sold a thing. I always preferred to buy from the dwarf with the most SS going at the lowest prices knowing that i could buy an amount im satisfied with instead of picking up the leftovers. So whats the deal do you like to buy from a Girly Dwarf or an old Fat man or a dwarf with lots of SS vs none?
:) i never look at the char, i buy from what ever is close and cheapest. "in case for SS, if i find a store selling at the corect market prize then i buy from and i realy don't care if the seller is a girl or not ^^"
Thats what i thought but my findings are confusing me...

Thats 2 more sales for the girly dwarf and my first sale for the guy dwarf...
If you got over 100k SS for sale, most might think you're a bot and there for not buy from you. Try recuding the amount you're selling at a time and see if things change.

Dwarfs not be fat !

btw .. Always buy from the girl toons :p
might sound strange but i always try to buy from the player that has the least. dont buy ss anymore really, but just about everyone sells soul ore at the same price so i figure the person with the least ore started with the least adena to "play the market" with, and thus is probably a newer player. up with noobs, down with scroobs.
I buy from the cheepest.

don't matter if it's a 12 year old dwarf girl, or a well matured SE. if the dwarf girl is selling Dss at 11a and the SE is at 13a I'll buy from the girl thats yet to hit puberty. :)

same goes for anything in the market..buy low and use, or buy low and sell high.

I agree however if this was meant as an experiment you should have started them both with the same amount.

Another thing to consider is what were they wearing. I tend to try to not buy from those in "good" equipment as they most likely already have money . . . but I think someone else mentioned something similar.

Thats an interesting look on it... Cause thats me.

I'm doing the selling of soul/spirt ore and i only have 500,000 for buying ore so i have under 2k of ore yet.

I'd buy based on (in that order):
- price (lowest obviously)
- clan/alliance (sympathy)
- name (normal names preferred)

If some toon are left over after that, i'd say it's random. But why don't you just put an equal amount of SS on both toons and try out if any is preferred. I think if ppl favor one i'd be rather a subconscious decision and nothing you could figure out on a board.
when i got my second account i done an experiment
i had my main and a lvl 24 seller alt
both of them look identical

my main was tagged with a well known legit gustin clan and wearing a mix of A and B grade items with a fully blue name

the alt was wearing starter gear untagged with a moderately farmerish name

i gave them both 100k BSS and by the next day the alt had sold out and my main had 40k left

i like to think that the reason the alt sold more was because it was in a better location because the only other options are
ppl hate me
ppl like to buy from farmers
Also ppl give more money then they have to ^.^

Try setup a shop with 2 identical items and make 1 expensiver then the other (+100k for example). It happened now more then 1 times that i sold the expensive item, whyever :)

ppl hate me

Most likely. :p

In-server politics at work.
I did an experiment as well. 2 unclanned lowbie dwarves, one female, the other male, sitting next to each other in Giran. They were both buying A and B crystals for the same amount. Everytime I did this, without fail, the female dwarf bought more crystals than the male. My female is now the perma-buyer, while the male sells things.
if theyre both lowbie i suggest you get rid of the male and just use two females ><
People are lazy.... really lazy.... like *** in the pool rather than get up and be civilized kinda lazy... if it werent true, they would make it themselves. people go to the same spot they always go to. People arent looking around. they see the Dss or whatever. click. and if its the lowest they think they will be able to buy it. thats all it takes. noones looking around. trying to figure out who is a bot. noone is thinking about it. they click, and if they don't say blankety blakety blakety dwarf, how dare you sell for 12, they buy. but people will tend to go to the same location they bought it last time, and if you are a steady supplier, they will come to you.
well ym female dwarfs = win :P i got whole of dion buying from me (sellin dss@11a :)) even the bloody farmers come buy from me :P
