Evenin' mates. I dont know if I'm going to start this but just wanted to get some info how'd I go about dual boxing L2 if I was to use the same computer (I do have a powerful setup). But any help in this area will be appreciated. I tried searching the forums but was unsuccessful.

I run L2 in windowed mode with 2 screens overlapping. I click on the task bar to switch between windows. Works very well.
You can either run both instances from the same short-cut or (like I do) run the 2nd from a completely different install.

you can have two different installs of the same game on a single machine? i'm guessing you installed in different directories (sorry if i sound a little unknowledgeable). alright cool, and i'm hoping that 2 gig RAM with visuals turned down all the way will be ok running the application.

All you need to do is copy the entire L2 folder to somewhere else and it will work. I run from 2 drives for the following reasons. First, to try and balance the load through the hard drive controllers (one is IDE and the other is SATA). Second, I turn off sound and lower the graphic settings on the setting account. I've actually run 3 accounts at once this way before...
There is one "gotcha". Whenever there is a patch, it will automatically patch your first L2 copy but won't automatically patch the second.
oh man you've got a serious setup going :) well i dont have two separate drives, but i guess i'll try to run from the same install and see if that works, i'm getting a bad feeling that my computer might not be able to handle the two instances, i do have enough handling power but still, i mean sometimes when playing, L2 crashes on my out of nowhere, not sure how 2 boxing will go, but will give it a shot.
anyhow ty very much for the help though, appreciate it. :)
I have installed the game into its normal directory once.
I start the patcher, enter screen name/pass, select server, character and enter game.
I hit keyboard keys: ALT+ENTER. This puts this version of the game into Windows Mode.
I set the screen size to match my desktop 1600x1200, centering it. I then minimize this window.
I start the patcher again, log in with the second account, select server, character and enter game.
Since I have already set the view settings from the first account, I don't have to do anything here except center the window.
When I exit the game, I don't change back to normal mode. Then any subsequent log ons, I don't have to go through all the steps above. Just start one, minimize start the other.
To switch between the 2 screens faster then moving your mouse off the screen or losing time fiddling around just use the keyboard : ALT+TAB. This will flip you between screens superfast.
The only downside of Windows Mode play is that Macros are stopped if you switch screens. I have a macro to buff one character with the other. If I start macro and switch screens, the macro halts.

its not a problem, they added it in c4 where when active windows change macros stop in the windows that are no longer the primary window. Apparently this was to discourage two boxing and i can only imagine encouraging botting instead? Not sure what the end result was meant to be.

its a change which is meant to be added for C5
when i started freaking out about it i was told by some friends that it already effects them
for some reason ive never had that happen
I don't run dual instances, but my boyfriend and I both have problems with the game crashing out of the blue. Do many people have this problem? My machine is BRAND new...
lol, at 47 with my EE, I went 2 full weeks of 2 to 6 hours each day (14 days) and I didn't get invites to teams/raids that actually did any form of exp. I didn't see any shouts for a healer either, let alone an EE. This was as of last week. I got a second account now. I still shout for team every time I am in a city.
