Hi all.
My characters name is Yorphiu, my wifes is Saolina. We are recent refugees from WoW. She is playing a DE fighter with thoughts of becoming a Phantom Ranger and I am playing a DE Mystic with an eye on Spellhowler. Currently we are level 7 (after a few hours of playing). We burned out a bit on the MC raid mentality that was endgame WoW. It was amazing how guild changed once they got to that point. We are hoping to find a decent guild on this server with friendly people.
We spent years in EQ (luclin was the beginning of the end) and played a bit of DaoC.
It seems the things that seemed great in WoW (easy levelling, no real death penalty, decent drop rates) make it less fun rather then more.
Game mechanics make a game tolerable, a good community make it fun.

Lionna is a wonderful server; we have plenty of helpful people who will answer any questions you might have.
We still have our annoying little griefers... <waits for Veansa to post> but you learn to tune them out.

We hit level 9 last night, 1 more and we get newbie buffs woo hoo.
I ran into someone who was kind enough to help me find out where arrows are sold, he gave me a large (to me) amount of adena. He logged before I got a chance to thank him. We arent looking to be twinked or for handouts, but it was a nice gesture.
Now to find a wharehouse...the information about little things in L2 seems oddly lacking.

just an update. I restarted as an orc (Yorph) mystic and headed over to hunt with my Saolina (still a dark elf fighter). Doing without the newbie buffs hurts, but warcryer interests me more then SE or SH.
We are level 16 and have wolves (mine delevelled) with armor but no weapons yet. I figure we will try to farm up some more bones for the quest from SoDA until 17 and head to do the Grim Collector. The game is still fun but we dont seem to be levelling fast enough to see people yet (a farscape marathon took away some playtime).
My wolf seems to eat more then hers. Is that a level thing?
Are there any good travel guides for the gludin/gludio areas? I tried to go halfway ans SOE but ended up back in the town I started in and as slow as my orc runs it was depressing.
Welcome to Lionna. I am almost new like u, so maybe i cant help now with some stuff, but i am leveling an alt dwarf lvl 15, so we can go together when u reach gludin or gludio, and start making raid bosses. It will be profitable and fast xp too. Wait for my calling. :)
