Hey folks. Just yesterday I received Scalloped Jamadhr, top D fist weapon, as loot in a raid. Today, I was in a group, and I just happened to have the weapon in my inventory (not equipped). While we were sitting waiting for mana to regen before a raid, our entire group got rooted, even though there were no mobs or NPCs around that could root. A bit later, I noticed the fists were gone. Vanished. Poofed. I did not die, so I could not have dropped them.
Now. WTF HAPPENED TO MY TOP D FISTS! I put in a petition, which was escalated, but I've yet to receive an email from a GM. If anyone has had this happen to them before, is there any possibility I will get the item back? If not, I'm going to be royally ****** because something happened that very obviously should not have.
I've never heard of anything like this happening before. If it really was the result of an in-game glitch then the GMs will likely replace it for you. I haven't lost anything personally but I've known a few people throughout the course of the game to have their items returned from glitches, though I can't say in this particular case.
The item disappeared right around the time my party was rooted by no one (literally, they just all got rooted for no reason). If this is a glitch, it's a very strange one. I'll see what the GMs have to say about it, but if I can't get that item back, I'm going to be furious. That is supposed to pay for my last 12 levels =X.
What server was this on? I experienced something similar on Erica the other day before the server crashed.
I was in Giran and then all of a sudden funny stuff happenned, i started to get a clan invite and random dialogs and stuff were popping up all over the place. I thought i was getting haxxored so i rebooted, turned out to be the server screwing up and crashing. It must have been sending out random messages to L2 clients:
"Root party ... delete item .. send clan invite" that sorta stuff
Go through support if you haven't done so, having 3 mill worth of gear dissappear is painful.

It was on Gustin. And losing 3m of gear is especially painful when your character is level 32 and your boxed SE is level 53 and still using D-grade. :confused:
I'm really hoping there was a problem with the server like you mentioned. If not, I'm out an ELS, which I actually, surprisingly, need right now.
I was doin the level 5 clan quest on Gustin the other day and all my quest items dissapeared and wouldnt come back even after relog, then they appeared after server restart.
The servers have been really weird lately, so rest assured you aren't the only one with strange occurences =P
I've heard a few stories and seen a few odd things myself, but nothing about disappearing items so far. With the economy in the shape it's in now, this is far more depressing than when all the trees in EG stop aggroing. I'm still waiting for that email from a GM, and I know the item isn't back on my character yet. I really hope they do something about this. Another MMO I played had a bug similar to this one (although much more frequent). It was why I quit.
around talking island, if you hit the right mobs enough, a young human (such as i was) can recieve a rather cool drop- iron fists.
did i know humans weren't supposed to use fist weaponry? Nah. Didn't care either; they looked cool. However, the Gladius and Wooden Shield I had saved up for were still getting a lot of use of course, because I had sword Skills, and they'd cost a lot of money. The first time I logged out after getting the fist drop, I logged back in to find them gone.
Much like yourself- they had vanished. I was more than upset, and thought (naturally) that it was some fault of my own.
However, I didn't pursue it for 2 reasons; first of all, I was a low level and it had been a drop. No money was technically lost (different to your own unfortunate case I'm sure lol). Secondly, I was a total newbie, even at level 16, and I had no idea what petitions were for.
Lol, the first time I ever used a petition was on the boat to the mainland, when it glitched and me and about a dozen others ended up in the ocean as the boat disappeared under our feet hahahaha!
Good luck in your case though, certainly, but stuff like that has definitly happened before in daft game glitches, and I hope for everyone's sake you get yours back. I have an odd itch now to petition for my iron fists, despite the fact that I'm thirty levels on........
Yes that's true, a party I was in the other day got rooted by Lord Sharder and a hi lvl char stood with us got Raid Curse and we weren't fighting, just sitting nearby.
Still doesn't get your item back does it.... hope you do, nothing more annoying than saving and it just disappearing.
were you near a raid boss when you got rooted? those guys do that sometimes

if you are telling the truth you will get it back
We were near a boss, yes, but we weren't fighting it. There is no way we should have been rooted. I'm sure of it. The RB we were near was Sir Calibus in EG; he can't AOE root anyway.

I lost Scallop. I needed to sell it go get my ELS. And I don't care if you believe me or not. It happened, and I'm trying to find out if it's ever happened to anyone else. I would like to prevent it from happening again.
I was with a party at a failed mini boss... everyone ran for it and we got dispersed.
One player tried died and didnt wait for everyone and went back to town for full XP loss..
When we returned to the site where he died, there were some things on the ground but not his main weapon..(A-grade)
It was a bad situation he wasnt sure where he died, so we were all looking far appart from each other until we found a collection of items that were dropped.
The area was vacant.. no other people.. it looked like one of the group took it..
But he petitioned and alas a few minutes later he was recommeded to restart.. and his weapon reappeared in his inventory.!
He was lucky.
One time i lost an item and was positive it was a glitch but after a couple of petitions the GM's informed me that the item was in transit (freight)

How does this stuff happen? I found the item. It was in the clan WH, though I'm 110% certain I didn't put it there. I hadn't been to the WH at all during the period where it disappeared. HOW!
If anyone from NC is reading this, please look into it. If I hadn't asked my clan leader, I never would have seen the item again.
