Gladi or Destroyer???

wich of the 2 would have the best chance to win in a 1vs1 pvp against eachother, im counting to the fact that bouth are the same lv, with equall equippment and playerskill.

and wich would be best in the high lv endgame?
any ideas??

so.. gladi or destro??
Have to take into account a lot of things. Player skill being foremost followed by the type of equipment used.

Since I know the destroyer points here goes:
1. effective use of a ghp pot.....swing so slow
2. effective use of either guts or frenzy followed by battleroar
3. use of doom crush with appropriate weapon or stun with appropriat weapon
4. Getting stunned and how many times (lol)
5. High hp and cp

Someone else can fill in gladdy stuff cause I dont know em all.
yeah, you would need to get someone that has played both.

Since it is another melee, gladi would be able to produce alot of damage fast.

If we went with your scenario, same lvl same equipment. It might come down to the random game play of crits and special lands.

I would imagine Orcs have the advantage with high HP, but the glad can pour the damage on.
it's funny cause these are my 2 choices for my subclass(when i get there that is) and i'm still undiced on which on to choose
Funny this came up. I went 1 vs 1 with my Destroyer lvl59 against a lvl60 Gladiator. We used buffs from same buffer and no pots just SS. It was a great fight but I did win with only 600hp left. Frenzy most likely saved me because once I hit it one smack and he fell. I'm not very experienced in pvp and the Glad. was, so taking that into account plus the lvl 60 skills he had I can say most of the time an experienced Destroyer will win. I'm looking forward to finding out what Crush of Doom will be like when I hit 60.
destroyers arent hard to beat you just make sure to keep as much mp as possible and as soon as he used guts and frenzy you let rip with your strongest attacks as they would be below 30% hp.

its worked for me the few times that ive pvped destroyers
if you can time it just right...whip out your pocket blunt as soon as you see the animation for either guts or frenzy, pray that stun lands. Either you'll interrupt and cancle the first buff or prevent him from doing the 2nd one. With 30% left a last ditch effort of TSS should do it.
Just to add in a few things...if you save your mp and don't use your specials then you might not get the Destro down to the point of frenzy. He hit me with everything he could to get me down in hp, like I said, I'm not real experienced in pvp but I know he hit me alot more then I hit him. Now that being said at 2 differents times during the fight I was hitting shift and not control to hit back plus I missed using attack skills when they were ready. He hit me with everything but the kitchen sink and that included a few stuns that did not land. My stun did not land on him either. We have equal lvls of stun using hammer crush. I also did not think about saving battle roar to use after hitting guts or frenzy. I am really out of practice so he should have whiped the floor with me.

To be honest I know he has pvped quite a few times but maybe he screwed up also in the fight.
Its been my experience that you cannot go toe to toe against an orc because of the massive HP advantage they have.

I am PVP nerfed though at -8 CON so I do alot of running and range attack.
Having played both starting glad and subbing a destroyer here is my opinion. Note that I do not use the "speed rigged" glad set up. I use majestic and S duals. +4 STR - 4 CON. On the desotryer I did something interesting +4 STR +4 CON -8 DEX. Doom armor HP weapon.

Glad - Specials are key, yes they are high mp consumption, burn through about 2/3s your mp as quickly as possible use sonic blaster to be mp effiecient and then wait for the Deso's 30% skills. Stunning him during that time is death, unleash a TSS and he falls quickly. Use charge stones to save mp and toggle ripose the deso doesn't have that much in skills so reflect 30% of his own dmg back, hell if you are fighting with buffs then get freezing and blazing skin too and reflect 50%. A gladdy wins if he can interup or unleash more dmg before frenzy and more importantly battle roar can kick in.

People laugh at my deso set up, which is fine, but I'm a walking brick 9k hp at lvl 60 and 3.5k cp. This offset by run speed I'm even slower. (I have been down to 14 run speed...yes I was in run mode). Deso it very simple wack away and get to your 30% skills then have fun. Use Guts first in the melee fight, maybe trying to trick the glad into wasting a TSS. Then since you are still below 30% pop frenzy and battleroar. Ya should win.

In my opinion Destroyer is the easier win. Glads have so many skills 3 of my buttons alone are the 3 different charges we can use, TSS, DSS, Attack button, Blaster, Stun macro, weapon slot, self buffs, basically you have to micro manage a glad alot at least 2 bars are needed and you need to be able to comfortably switch and play with both bars.

Long story short,
Destroyers are fun why because I can smash stuff
Glads are fun cause they take some thought

Pardon any typos

Very good responses. I think win or lose, knowing your enemies abilities are almost as important as knowing your own. Glads. remind me of Tyrants in alot of ways. Lots of skills, dish out tons of damage and if played right are very tough to beat. I still have lots to learn on my Destroyer about skill management but that is the fun of playing your character. :)

Destroyer will beat a Glad in a 1v1, but neither will kill anything in open PvP unless equiped with a Bow.

as a destroyer, with two glads being some of my closest in-game freinds (one has a speed setup the other has a strength setup) this is what i see every time when i PvP either one of them:
glad burns through the destroyers mp without the destroyer doing much damage comparitively. basically, im at 50% health when the glad is at 100% health, 0% cp. in PvP versus melees except other destroyers, i would never use frenzy, i use guts and battle roar if its available (about a 1/4 chance in a randomly-timed PvP, unless you had it recharged when the fight started, which is easy to do if you didnt have the buff on, but then your low-hp skills happen at a lower amount of hp, making timing more critical). when i get to 30% health, the battle flips completely around, and with guts on, i take out not only the glad, but 3 other people who just happened to be in the arena, switching to frenzy if they attempt to run. as a destroyer the low-hp skills are your lifeblood, without them, dwarfs will own you (thus if you get stunned while using one of them, the battle is pretty much over).
as for high level endgame, they both loose to nukers and archers. everything thats not a nuker or archer in this game is just a target.
