I'm trying to find out where to get the Tunic of Magic and the Stockings of Magic, but so far I cant find them anywhere, not even in shops. Anybody know where they are?
Yep, you need to leave the starting towns to get decent NG stuff. Gludio, Gludin, Giran, and Dion should be your easiest access. There is a quest in every started village that will give you a free scroll to take you to one of the other non-starter villages. Find that and do it; the trip will be free! And you can return to orc land if you'd like for free also! Just remember you can only do that once.

I'm an Orc Mystic in case you need to know.
Thanks!
First if you just started out on your own and you have that kind of money it's usually time to leave orc village anyway. Especially after lvl 17/18 You'd be better much better of doing quests in Gludin, Gludio or the zombie & spider quests in Dark Elven Village.
If you haven't and got some money from a friend or a "friend"( :() for equipment and such you can easily afford the port fees to gludio or as previously said do the lvl 3 quest for a scroll of escape to Giran.
Secondly I'd advise you not to get tunic & stockings of magic, but stick with the devotion set:
Tunic of Devotion
Stockings of Devotion
Leather Helmet
Sure tunic & stockings of magic give a bit more mp, but the +15% cast speed the devotion set gives is invaluable, especially for an orc mystic, which has the lowest base cast speed.
Also if this is your first character after lvl 6 be aware that even though you can't buy the top NG armors & weapons in the starter towns you can upgrade your weapons and armor to top No grade in the starter towns.
I'd actually advise you to not buy any robes yet. Orc mystics are mainly melee based and get light armor masteries at lvl 7 and heavy armor masteries at lvl 14. The lowest robes will do fine till lvl 7, bone armor is good untill lvl 14 and after that you can get bronze.
I agree, stick with devotion. However you CAN get magic tunic and stockings if you have the newbie benefits, the starter towns will exchange up to the magic.
Its not worth it, just start with the light armour now. The only magic skill you have before lvl 7 is soul cry which does drain your mp fast, which is why I can see you wanting the Magic set. Nonethless theyre right about the melee. Go light armour and then switch it over to heavy with the time is right. FYI orcs have found it best to go brig once they hit d grade, even mystics :)

Bear in mind though that one shouldn't get light armor before you have the masteries (lvl 7) however otherwise your attack speed and mp recovery speed (less for soulcry) go down alot, but as I said the lowest robes you can buy in the shop are cheap as chips and will do fine untill lvl 7.
That depends on how they're playing their mystic.
I've got devotion set on mine, and it works well for me.
I DoT the mobs and smack them down melee. I don't get hit much at all, and the casting speed is nice.
Oh, yeah, of course. But it would be silly to buy equipment specifically for the pre 7 levels. Just use your noobie stuff, or use whatever you get from the keltirs and wolves.
Yeah but the robe casting speed bonus from devotion wont benefit him/her at all. Just go light or magic now.
.....
The lowest robes will do fine till lvl 7 , bone (= light.. HELLO!) armor is good untill lvl 14 and after that you can get bronze.

So you guys are saying that after level 7 I should go for Light armor and not use robes after than. And at D grade start using Brigandine. So.... I should use heavy mostly than?
Again...depends on how you play your mystic. I've done one in heavy armor and one in robes. If you are going to tank a lot and not do too much casting, heavy works great. If you are going to be using spells mostly, robes are the way to go.
The beauty of the orc mystic is how versatile they are.
Hmm, sorry for the double post, but I have one more question:
What do the Overlords have over the Warcryers? It seems the Warcryer has more damaging spells at the cost of curses, and their buffs are clan wide instead of alliance wide.
I know those curses make the Overlord super tough, but how in the world do they cause any damage without any attacks aside from what they get from being a normal Mystic and Shaaman stages?
Warcryers are pretty much buffers that buff in a party that can deal damage. As a correction, they buff the whole PARTY at once. OLs are more of a seige pvp and clan buffer character. They rush in and land their seals on many people at once. They can also buff the whole ally at once.
If you have a strong clan to party with, Overlords are awesome. However remember your buffs (except for your early pre-40 ones) will not land on anyone but clan and alliance members, so that means you are not going to be much of a buffer if you are in a non-clan party.
Also Warcryers have better buffs in terms of parties vs pve. Wacryers have haste/vampiric rage/death whisper/focus/acumen etc. While the Overlord does get acumen he doesnt get the other buffs which are MORE then appreciated by parties. Infact a party would be perfect with just a Warcryer and a Bishop/Elven Elder. (depends on the amount of mages vs the amount of damge the party is taking on the Bishop/EE)
Overlords on the other hand have the most wanted buffs. Acumen/Empower/Zerk but none of the common buffs mentioned above. Overlords dont really have a role in most parties outside alliances unless your AOEing in which case the OL can really shine. Unless your set with a clan at 40 i wouldnt suggest going Overlord as both the OL and the WC dont get their buffs until much deepr in the game in comparison to their counterparts. So its all or nothing.
Sorta bears mentioning that Empower isn't really a PvE-Relevant buffs on overlords, as it comes in the late 70ies...by that time, you've hopefully already found your role in parties in a different way!
So in 1v1 PVP I'm guessing the Overlord would be better because of the amount of curses it has, combined with the ability to suck the persons health up and everything. Although I can help but think the Warcryer still causes more damage in 1v1.

Actually overlords are one of if not the best class for mass pvp, since their curses are area-of-effect, they have one of the highest mdef's + an incredible high p.def with soulguard & heavy armor + pretty high HP + strong drains + cp heals.
I'd imagine they're still very good in 1v1, probably good mage killers, but take alot of skill to play. However I can't think of any class better suited to sieges and other forms of mass pvp then an Overlord.
I'm not overly skilled at PvP, but I did very well in 1v1 on my Overlord verses characters close to my level or slightly higher. My root/sleep/stun/drain plus the curses meant I killed while keeping my HP very high.

I must disagree, you are very skilled because you know your characters best assets. Alot more difficult then the load of spellsingers I still see every day that think "press auraflare" is good pvp.
Lol - i love the sps comment - imagine a clan of OLs VS a clan of Mages at a seige - that is something id like to see).
WCs manage to pump out more physical power after they buff themselves and can still pack a decent magical punch however their buffs are more taxing on their mana then the OLs and they are better at just wacking the guy.
OLs have a nicer bit of mana to play with and more debuffs. Therefore the pack a magical punch.
Therefore:
Ol = Nuker
Wc = Melee.
Both can do both, its just one is more efficent at doing one then the other.
So from what I gather, a Warcryer is good if you are going to be on your own, and not really going to bother too much with Clans, Alliances, etc. And they are better in PVE in some ways with parties.
So, if I have a playstyle of: Explore the land, do a lot of parties, but not too much Clan, Alliance stuff, and probably a lot of PVE, than a Warcryer would be better.
Whereas an Overlord is good if your going to be a Clan War character with a lot of PVP battles and the such.
Tell me if I'm wrong, but I think I like the sound of the Warcryer more than the Overlord. It's just that I like to explore more than anything, and maybe some 1v1 PVP as well, and probably a lot of Party based stuff.
As a Warcryer though, I'll probably be still using Robes because of the MP and Cast Speed bonus', but probably different weapons right?
Sorry to throw so much out at you guys, but I really want to know what kinda character I'm making before I spend a ton of time on it.
