Hello all. I was able to finish my 2nd class change quests and now am an SK. I'd like to know which are better: swords with focus, or swords with critical. Also since now I'm an SK, should I invest in a single handed sword or a dual? I ask this because I'd like to spend money that'll be worth in the long run.
I was looking at buying a Samurai Long sword with Focus, good choice or no?
Last but not least, I've close to 15 recipes that are NG and are just normal/useless items, I dont think that I can sell them for a good price, should I just sell them to npc blacksmiths and traders?
Sword with focus is your best friend. And no for duals, cause you dont have any masteries for that unless you have healer on your butt all the time and you want to do more dmg, but in long run 1-handed + shield is better, cause you will have more shield masteries later on.
As for recipes, depends on what kind you have. All those that create 2nd lvl basic mats sell pretty well. Rest of them you may sell to npc. Top D one or set ones keep and sell to players (like elven mithril gloves recipes, brig shield/helm recipes etc) :) Hope that helps
I would definetly say focus, crit dmg is good still but diminishes when you lvl up, get weapon masteries, get p.atk enhancing buffs and you already have such a high p.atk.
Also since you are an SK and thus a tank I would advise the traditional 1 handed sword with shield, but since you are the most DD like of the pure tanks and if you have frequent acces to VR a 2 handed sword might be something to ponder about. But I can't really give you hands on experience from that since I've never played/partied with an SK.
However absolutely never buy dual swords (you can always borrow them though if someone has a nice + pair) since your sword masteries do count for 1 and 2 handed sword, but not for duals.
I would advise you to buy an SLS (without SA) try it out for a while and then switch it at mammon for free to Beserker blade (note both can have focus SA) and try that out (or the other way around ofcourse), when you decide your favorite get the SA.
Or you can always try and lend them ofcourse.

Funny. I think you have much more flexibility at lower levels here than you may think.
From level 40 - 51 I used dual Katanas.
From level 52 - 60 I used dual SLS.
Only at 61+ did I ever settle down and use a single-handed Focus or Health weapon and Shield.
Masteries are great, but not the end all or be all at C grade. And I didn't really need the healer either. With Haste duals, Hex, Power Break and cubics, most mobs weren't upright long enough to do any real damage. Kept a few heal pots handy just in case.
So yes, follow the conventional wisdom, if you can afford to do so. But if not, don't be afraid to live outside the box a little. At least until you hit A grade.
