In the future, Lineage II will also allow users access to message boards, decrees, confirmation of war declarations, messengers, and all sorts of data searches within the game through its pledge website, thereby building a strong community, connecting real life and virtual reality experiences.
Datasearches in pledges? Ingame message boards?, heh...maybe not.
I think before they can do anything like this or even do any more programming for this game in the future, they need to start learning how to market the **** game outside of Asia. Their #1 downfall and the reason this game hasn't really taken off can be blamed squarely on NCSOFT NAs inability to market this game properly.
Do you relize how many small bugs are still in the game?
Just try and buy a lottery ticket, if you look the last number is cut off. Better yet how about the great searching option we have for sell shops.
Or the announcement section in the community area.... I don't know about anyone else but white text on a light blue background is harder then hell to read.
We aren't playing C4 but still prelude, I'd be willing to give up one chronicle just so they would fix everything.
I don't know about the rest of you, but it bugs me i'm not playing a polished game.

I know how you feel, but to be fair I've yet to run across an MMO, professional or amatuer, that wasn't riddled with bugs at all levels.
I'd rather have them work on core gamplay elements and balancing issues than correcting small errors such as numbers being cut off on lottery tickets. It does make you wish games like this had enough people working on them to have a team dedicated to polishing up all the small mistakes made along the way.
Edit: Now that I think of it, rather than have them correct a number being cut off on a lottery ticket it would be nice if they made the actual lottery worth playing.
Currently in Korea. It's nice that we get some unique events of our own here in NA, but regardless of how the game is doing here all core gameplay elements are going to be handed down from Korea.
It's not even all game play issues that bug me.....
The client download on the offical site. It has been plagued with issues from the start of C4 countless suggestions have been made to correct the issue, but so far nothing has been done.
And i just love it when a new player that cann't download the game gets the offical NC reply.
"Well, use fileplanet."
Hello! This is the offical download! It does not paint NC in a good light when they tell someone to go someplace else.
Talking about bucks, where can one buy cheap L2 serials nowadays ? A colleague would like to try L2 but I don't know where I should advise him to go buy it.

At least they don't introduce gamealtering systems that piss off a large portion of the playerbase, say it will be implemented "eventually", then leaves the system hanging over players heads for months and months without a word, while the players worry when the bomb is going to drop.

Do i have to bring up GameGuard, Server Transfers, and the Community tab that was late in coming. :)
I'm just glad that L2 generally improves with each large patch to the game. They don't, for example, decide to split all servers into two worlds. One that allows PvP and one with Non PvP, and let people teleport between the two at will.

*shudders*
I imagine that some people would like this though.
I personally think they should have alternate rules servers as it would expand the playerbase. Expanded playerbase means more money and more money is good for the development of the game.
Having different servers with different rules is one thing. Taking a large PvP based game and suddenly giving everyone the ability to jump over to a world where one of the defining elements of the game doesn't even exist is another matter entirely.

Well, there are different ways to define PvP. Some games are RvR and some are Open.
To allow players to jump back and forth at will should be a "no-no". But allowing a server that has alternate rules for PvP is another thing. Then again, that is a different discussion all-together I suppose.
On a side note, Teon would have been dead from day 1 if all euros had switched.
So it's possible the lie was intentional because some reports talk about 1/3 of the players being euros... for 1 vs 8 servers.
But what I believe is NC was really planning to work on it and was not able to do so, which any ppl having a grasp of relational databases will have a hard time to understand, but that's another topic.
So I'd hint to keep a few of those laid offs resources to work on that point ;-)
Just remember you're playing the most polished game out there.
WoW, CoH? There are more polished games out there. L2 still has quite a few bugs because it doesn't have the north american subscription base that those games do (and therefore doesn't have the staff).

I would have to agree with this. There are other games out there that feel more polished. Then again, they have had their own problems.
I don't know about the rest of you, but it bugs me i'm not playing a polished game.
When I started playing this game last week (hehe) I figured that it would be more polished since it's been out as long as it has. Is everyone else's pathing as bad as mine? When i try to run down a hill I see myself running down 3 and 4 times per fall. eek.
And why aren't there regular updates when I log in to the game?
I came from eq2, i'd been playing that since it came out in 2004(?) and it always seemed very polished, even if there were some minor errors here and there. My big problem with it was the end game, kinda got monotonous. But it never seemed to have the same problem this game was having either with outrageous pricing or with the amount of bugs this game has.

The prices aren't a game problem, its a player problem (and varies according to server)
The game does do minor updates every few weeks, but mostly the content comes in huge chunks during chronicles (expansions).
The "issue" with the hills and elevation is not a pathing issue but simply a limitation of the game when you rapidly change the Z-axis. Most people get used to it and learn to click back towards where you're falling down from and you'll usually stop falling.
The bugs are pretty minor compared to many other MMORPGs out there, can't say anything about EQ2 since I never played beyond the beta.
What I hate about pathing is that if you run past a tree or rock, your character will inevitably turn straight into it and get stuck. Very frustrating. Oh, that and if there's something you can't see between your view point and your character, and you click on it (its invisible mind you), you'll run back towards the camera. That's killed me a few times.
