I recently signed up for the lineage II along with my brother. I've been considering various character classes to start with/make my main, and I'm torn between going for an Abyss Walker and a Necromancer. What would be a better class to start with? (I want to opt first for cheap and fast character... It would be nice if I can go around doing some sort of lineage 2 sightseeing tour with the character I choose, but people say necromancer is stronger and easier to level) Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
necromancer is a lot easier to lvl imo, but only if you have money. If you don't have money, you will go broke going from lvl 44-60. after lvl 60 mobs start dropping enough adena to pay for the cost of killing the mobs.
AW is a fun class and is getting a huge boost in C5. They are also sem-expensive to lvl.
If you want fast and cheap lvling, go spellhowler. they lvl really fast and are cheap to play. They aren't the best in pvp, but they are very strong.
I see. But are the dagger users any good? Their skill power and ability to silent walk through a whole dungeon full of aggro (provided that you have mp) sounds very attractive.
Oops, I didn't know you already answered me. Sorry, and thanks.
Dagger users are key elements in any party. You can do the same amount of damage without ss, as a support class does with ss. Thus making your leveling cheaper.
The key is, play the character class that you enjoy. It matters little what class you play, you can either make money fast, or make levels fast, but not both.
One more thing to think about, the Necromancer can not summon a sin eater while it's own summons is out, so if you tend to PK, you might want to go AW.

although this is true... it's meaningless. a necro lvls with his summon 5% of the time. I prolly use mine more than most necros, and that isn't very often. A Necro's summon is really only there for pvp.

this guy prolly said it right
40-52 would prolly be a bit tricky for a new player on a necro
i made it fairly easily possibly making a small profit but i have a +11 homu and 70+ se buffs which odds are you wont have
SH is definately the better pve class but at 52 both classes can make good xp and adena useing CDL and at the mid to high 50's both can go on full spam and still turn a profit
dagger classes will be fairly leet next chronicle but without a party and good equiptment you can forget about getting good xp
