As far as PvP... especially clan-based... and to a lesser extent, party desirability, what's more desirable... a Warcrier or a Bishop? Do clans and parties desire a straight up healer with resses or a ... well... buffer like Warcrier?
Also, do warcrier buffs stack with other classes ... what about overlord do they stack?
And is there something about the Warcrier buffs that would make it more desirable than other buffers?
Ultimately, you're comparing apples and oranges. For a balanced group you'll probably want a healer/rezzer on hand, but you DEFINATELY need a buffer, if you don't wanna be dropped quickly, without causing much hurt.
As for a good support class, I've had good experences with the WC. Their buffs have the potential to affect more players, and get VERY effective at higher levels. I've personally had very good effects with a WC buffing my SpS (pushing my casting speed up over 1500). Of course there are other effective buffers, just relaying my experiences. :)
Well, WC is good if you want to get going quickly. But if someone dies in battle, and needs rebuff, the warcrier needs almost a full mana bar to buff again. If you don't die, yes the wc is uber :p -Trouble is, they don't get focus 3 till 68!
Bishops are great, with their greater battle heal and highest rez in game. -And body of avatar.
I believe it depends on the setup. Simple rule: no party in PvP can do without a healer and a buffer. Bishop is a clasical healer. Warcrier has a party healing skill, but it is mostly a buffer. Of course WC buffs are weaker than than any other true buffer's (specially in low levels) but he can deal damage better than any of them (even tank a mob or two if needed). So, it's more matter of party setup. In L2 all characters find a role somewhere.
Warcrier is more desired for PvE. And quite versatile class as it is. Pretty good solo to a point before you get haste2, then always welcome in melee/archer groups and sometimes in mage groups.
Bishop is best pure healer, but generally SE is more welcome to groups than bishop. So basically bishops only grind in full parties, and it takes a long time to form one.
Of course WC buffs are weaker than than any other true buffer's (specially in low levels)
ONLY at lower levels. When buffs are maxed, they're exactly as good as from any other buffer.
Not necessarily true... WC doesn't have the prophet's Bless Body and Bless Soul, and in C5 WC will be lacking Shield4 and Might4 as well (I think ...) Still, nothing is quite as satisfying as a well run group with a WC buffing... WC just saves precious time. Period.
Its either the OL or the WC that do get sheild 4 and might 4 - pretty sure its the WC cause its a chant. Warcyers are by far the best support buffers in the game. The only problem is that they get their awsome buffs way later in the game. 50+ and all. Mabye even 56. Btw, Bless the soul isnt all that important (its nice, i should know im a mage) but its not neccesary. You want btb that bad get someone to give it to you off of a Ghoul's staff. So basically warcryers have all the IMPORTANT buffs - that no one can really do without.
