Hi, What is NCSoft doing about getting new players to the game, from what I've seen now it is just high level people rerolling, I'd be surprised if there was a person under level 20 that was new. My friend also told me that Lineage is no longer sold in stores and you can only get a new account online, is this true? If so why?
every time i go to pick up my game card at the store i look for the linage package...no where to be seen. i do see city of heros/villians, guild wars...but no lineage. but there was a few people asking me what the game was like in the store...so that's a good sign, and too have helped a few new players out reciently...so they are comming. the best marketing that NC seems to have is word of mouth. so i hope people can talk
My wife and I started playing. We had to get it from direct drive as no stores in town carried it, not best buy, circuit city, eb, gamestop, walmart....no one.
There are plenty of new players coming to the game, just not in droves.
I've personally helped 3 new players in the last 2 weeks.
Could we use more? Sure. But they are here so no need to worry about that.
As far as why it is difficult to find the game in stores. Your guess is as good as mine.
cause lineage2 has gain bad publicity to casual MMO's player cause people can kill you for fun...and is nearly impossible to get what you want without clan help.. and not everyone wants to be in clans.. the prob of this game is the low xp and adena gain rates and forcing you to join clans to simply enjoy a little of the game..... until NC understands that this game won't get much publicity with this said above... Lineage2 will never achieve the succes that it deserves.... :mad:

Yeah, in a lot of ways it is set up to be a niche game. Oh well.
So many people love the graphics and even the pvp system "to a point".
But it is really set up more for hardcore players who always play.
thats my point man even if new people come must give up once they know all of this..I got a friend that when I showed him the game he like it ... I let him play... he plays... bam!! a pk'er kills him and doesn't him leave the village... he said that game was the worst....he never played again... well my point is NC should fix this....also that this game has more potential than most games out here but is untapped.... and Im basically may leave after Richard Gariiot fineshes Tabula Rasa.. Im just hoping they do something before i leave so new players feel like they can enjoy this game without being limited...
well..like a lot of people say, if you don't get pked early you'll get pked later. everyone gets pked, it's just how you handle it that makes a good game or not. i used to get pked per 20 all the time, so i learned how to sneak around while soloing and i learned how to avoid players, and by doing so i learned argo distance of mobs, and became a killer with my bow. when i look back now (to open beta) it was good that i got killed early...cause now i'm aware of the whole 3d aspect of the game...if i could show you a video of me when i'm soloing...you'd probly get sick the screen is moving so much :)...don't get me wrong, it's not like i love PvP or anything, but from my early experiences i learned how to deal with it, also though me to get friends/clan/ally to back me up when needed :)....**** i love this game

but like some not everyone likes clans... I mean I for one its not that I don't like them but I can't be in a clan cause of my daily life... so I was going for my second option assasin for hire.... guess whats... i learned to get at high lvls a clan is almost not an option... so I go to square one again... and many people that I met and played L2 complain of the lack of freedom the has no clan..not much idea of good adena gain unless you ebay... no clan not much help going to your 50's and your not useful cause clans are evrything.. in my point of view unless you have friends on high places your stuck until then... no matter how much expirience you have it doesn't help on the fact that the game doesn't have many liberties as it should. And in a MMO thats what people want.
Actually, you will out-level your gear and skills if you don't die occasionally. When PK'd, simply thank them for the additional SP and adena you will receive before your next level.
well i couldn't really understand the middle part of what you said, but i think it was that you can't get a good clan cause you do stuff during the day, or cause of you level? something like that...anyway...you just have to find a good clan, or start one yourself
True. It takes a while to find a good clan. Good being a word that is different for everyone.
Our clan is made up of alot of working people. Get on about 5pm EST and from then till about 1 am we are rock'n with people coming and going.
Trouble is, it took me a while to find the right fit and I am sure that is the case with a lot of others out there. It also helped we all came up together so there is now a lot of trust and shared adventures.
Clanning is not for everyone, but pure solo is a killer too. Unless you are a BD, I don't see how solo peeps get about 64 without going insane.

Though I prefer being in a clan for larger activities, I prefer to lvl solo.
Made it to 74 mostly solo. You just have to have a different take on lvling. To me it is more contemplative and relaxing. Sort of like rowing a boat.
I'd have to agree with sov., I alot of times I don't like to party some times I do, specailly if I know that peson is on the same lvl as me when it comes to lvling ( hard core like, I meen 7 hours a night)
I usely pick a class I can solo with, and stay away form classes thats group depent.
I am new and on teon ...I have had game just under one month and am lvl 39 wizard .......I have soloed 98% because getting more experienced players in grps is hard ....I also need a 10 min hand in the ant nest (this deviates from point of post slightly but its hard to get help I wish more people thought of helping newbs like in this post)
In saying that the people I have met on this forum have been good with me and I appreciate that but well I have 4 main friends on l2 who are newbs on the teon server and they all say it is hard to get grps.

^^^yeah they need to ban bots always and try and clamp down on any mention of ebay and buying adena this will screw up prices for 90% normal grinders ........Im new but im also hoping its not a case of with the seiges that these pro clans i have heard mention is a case of the biggest user of pounds to adena on ebay..........If it is becoming like this how is the normal decicated non cheating players/clans mean to succeed......I have come across peopkle in the past who trade real money for in game money and I just wish people could look at the big picture other than just there own personal gain at the expense of killing in game balance.
all Im saying is if the devs want some publicity the better at least start with making the adena gain higher and xp gain that helps balance some of the issue that make this game a last resort game for some....that or if you are korean wich in that case well they live with a copy of starcraft and sleep with video games to make money.....

or instead of changing the entire game because some people like the difficulty of the game and have to the time to go throught it...make a relax server for casual players..maybe one without pvp and one with higher adena drops, and exp rates...it would make a lot of people happy and would allow people who don't like clans or don't have time to be an active player, to enjoy the game

Back to the topic, I did a test today in the town i live (weymouth, england) and i searched all 4 of the gaming shops and not one had a copy of L2, OR the offical guide... i was shocked. :confused:
