Heavy armour for my Prophet at BG or stick to the robes & duals/bow?
I have avadon BG robes already for my Prophet. I was thinking of buying heavy armour just incase I happen to come on to play & I have to solo for exp, because I can't find a group or my clans/allies aren't on. Is it worth investing the money in? Or at my level should I just stick to robes?
With Heavy u have to forget about mana regen and evasion i think - yes with buffs u become probably as good as fighter classes but...no passive skills!
True... I'm not so worried about my mana because when I'm soloing I don't use it up as fast on myself. I'm going to check items, but just wanted to know what you need to complete the Avadon heavy set? When I was in CG I was using FP because I was already wearing the boots & helm as my heavy set. (Divine Robes as robe set)
I think for Solo-killing you can indeed invest in a Heavy Armor for your prophet. She will pay a bit on the mana side, but since you only need to use the buffs on yourself it won't be an issue. The duals should give you the needed killing force to engage on mobs you can handle. Be aware though that your casting speed will be drastically diminished, so don't count on a quick casting of your normaly so useful heals...Best in this case to have your healing potions at the ready. Battle Prophets are imo a good way to diverse your game play and if I had one myself I'd defenatly go for it.

BTW, if you ever are alone and want a group and I'm online - Just give a shout :) You're more then welcome to be part of the fun.
Thank you very much for the offer I'll probably take you up on it. Thanks guys for the advice :) I've had duals on my Prophet threw every grade so I'm kinda use to the slow speed thats why I use greater attack potions. Till 52 BG when I will get Haste & start using that buff to increase speed. I also always carry GHP & normal HP for soloing, cuz if I take on a big mob by accident I dont' always have time to heal myself fast enough. Thanks again for the advice, I currently have Avadon gloves, boots, helm for my robe set so getting the armour & gaiters is the only thing I actually need to complete my heavy set. :)
You're most welcome and good luck with the hunt down of your armor :)
>>With Heavy u have to forget about mana regen and evasion i think
Why no mp regen in heavy? And when had prophets eveasion?
---
>>yes with buffs u become probably as good as fighter classes
no way. even if you gimp your con (which you should do) still you are miles away from a good fighter class.

Elves have might/shield2, everyone can get haste2, and focus 3 is available too. All the bonus buff left is: guidance/dw...[BD has dances - better]. So the real advantage is over human classes but well.

If you want to solo you shall do it in heavy and shield.
Prophets have zerk, Blessed shield, Acumen3, Death Whisper, Guidance, BTS, Invigor, Haste2 that some other classes don't have. It doesn't evne matter what we do or don't have everyone can have all these skills for a price, an expensive price LOL For Prophets it's a skill & most people would rather have something for free then pay for it!
If you expect solo for good amount of time then I'll say yes. Oh, by the way heavy doesnt efect evasion for mystics, unless it's -Dex set.
Get the heavy, you'll love it. If you can afford the 45k, grab a devotion set with leather helmet to carry with you to buff yourself much faster (15% casting speed bonus).

Screw the shield, go with duals with focus.

No downtime at all.
LOl I love you people! Thanks for the help, I'll probably be getting the armour today & I've already got the duals! c/w Focus SA! *YAY*
This might be the other direction and all..but Im using Blue Wolf light with focus duals for my prophet. You get the p.def and casting bonus, and you also have light armor passives. Zubei light actually worked out fine when I was saving up for BW light.

But if you're going into heavy, I think zubei heavy is the better choice than avadon. But seeing as how you already have Avadon parts, it'll do fine... :)

Mite be a lil more expencive, but you should try BW light or doom light over heavy!!, I just hate heavy, and the looks is horrid on humins any how.

If you go with doom light or BW light you get a MP regen, and you can use a bow, just self-buff up, and root the mobs then shot with a o/e BoP. a lil less lazy, but you'd not have to worry about geting hit so much. and can carry less pots and more arrows and SS.

This is what I'm going to do for my PP, and lvl her side by side with ym HE. bouth in doom light with BoP's.

you can use a bow

I used a bow in my D-C grade as self defense from pk'ers and it works great :) Im always in catacombs and when a red comes along or someone flags..root and peg away :)
doom light on HE is not wise (unless you are finding yourself short on MP).
Would it be better to use BW light & a bow or BW Light & duals? I already have my duals, but I'm about to + 4 them & if they blow up should I go bow instead?
Bow will likely not be good for you in C5. There will be penalties that seem to make it not worth using.
what are your duals, bow, what mobs are you planning to fight, etc... BW light is pointless armor, save archers and summoners.
-accuracy wont be that bad against greens and esp if you go +dex or BoP/accuracy.
I'm hoping to hunt mobs at alligator island or anywhere else the mobs are green/white to me. I don't want to really be over weight. (duals/heavy amrour/staff/robes) would be very heavy for me to carry around. I do want to find a set that will work when I get stuck in a situation, like being in a duo or party that suddenly gets disbanded, but being in a good hunting area where I can just throw on something that will protect me while I keep hunting solo. I just don't want to be in a duo where the person leaves, then I have to go all the way back to town to get my heavy armour and then port back to the spot, if I can find it again. Thats why I was thinking heavy Avadon because I'm already wearing most of the set from my Avadon robes, then I just switch to my heavy set & solo from there if I have too. The problem with that is the penalty weight I will get between carrying the robes & heavy. Any suggestions or idea's on what set up would work?
I'm sticking to duals, because come C5 I wont be able to use a bow anyways. I might as well get use to the duals again anyways..
one note: i usually dont duo in areas i solo. I say usually since pre 60 there are a lot of areas where you can find good mobs.
For a prophet: i'd stick to robe AND find magic dealing mobs. Prophets have fantastic magic defense and virtually all elements protection. Thus said - you focus on your jewelery (which you must anyways) and use ONLY one armor for group, solo.
If you are abandoned in some area dont stick to it. You should always solo in the best area for your class, setup.
Even if you pay some porting taxes - you'd make more adena by hunting easier, faster, safer - mark my words. And good luck!
So is the best to have the Avadon set, (gives +def) or should I try and go for the BW Robe set? (for mp reg)
BW is way better for prophet.
Ok so my best option is to sell my CG & Avadon BG set for my Prophet & buy the full BW! Thanks :) with no heavy right?
you cant go wrong with

P. Def. +5.24%
Casting Spd. +15%
INT -2
MEN +3
WIT -1

of blue wolf light :D

doom light on HE is not wise (unless you are finding yourself short on MP).

are you nuts, don't you knwo that doom light is the HE B grade armor. only thing else would be PL...but I'd rather not spend 20m + for PL set.

I'm going for doom, has a better set to me. Trust me I know what I'm doing!

But I honestly don't think you do. go to the armor set bonus in the libary and you see what they are.

tiffy: honestly, don't try to carry around so much, you don't have the waight limits to carry that much as a mage.

Get a homu for cast speed, and eathier BW light or doom light both have MP regen bonus on them, BW has the better one. and lose your staff...they are worthless. heavy armor isn't great, your cast speed in it will suck.

the loss with bows is np, thats not till C5, and it's only cast speed, you wont need cast speed with the bow, unless your rooting. just go wiht the bow till C5 hits, then sell it after words for over priced money!(servers always jump up in price after nerw cronicels)and C5 is like at lest 1-2 months from now, if you play enough thats plenty of time to get some use out of the bow.

And you can learn how to kite, so if you choose to, you can reroll a archer.

Duels are nice, but it will suck W/o VR. so choose what you want, but I think you got some good ideas floting around on what I'm telling you...your concerns sounds like it.
kain must be twisted. both PL shirt&gaiters mats are spoilable, so around 600-900k max. and 18m for boots is hilarious.
for HE - get PL and never look back unless you have majestic. doom blows.

To tiffy: heavy is way better than light (unless you need dex bonus of light). solo you almost never cast in combat, so casting speed doesnt matter.

solo you wont really need any mp regen bonus.
Thanks guys, that helps me out a ton. I think I know which way I'm going to do it. I also agree on getting rid of my staff.. they are worthless heh. :D
Trust me on this...I average 7% an hour soloing at 56, not too bad for a support class.

Go with the heavy and duals with focus. When you can afford it, add the +4 STR, -4CON tat. For casting get yourself a cheap devotion set as it carries a +15% casting speed bonus.

You can carry all that and still have plenty of room to carry enough ss for an hour or so of grinding.

There are many ways you can go and the versatility of this character is why I love it so much. This combination works great for me.
I've already got the tattoo & duals, I'm still looking into the heavy armour set! I'm also clanless so I'm either leveling with my friends or on my own from here on in!

I don't disagree that PL is a great armor, but you'd get more P DF with doom. and when I hit 61 I'm still be useing doom and o/e BoP, I don't think I'm go with mejestic till like I'm 66+.

Reason being is helmets on kain is like 250mil.(absoured isn't it, to bad farmers own the market)

doom light isn't a bad set!
So basically my best set up is my BG robes that I have & a heavy set! (for soloing) I've already got my tattoos,BG Avadon Robes & my BG duals with Focus on them :D
Tyffy, why not BW robes? It's about same cast speed. Tryed on a sps and OL it actualy has few more cast speed points in BW robe. More MP and regen, and as a profet you dont realy need int.
I wanted BW Robes but the armour for that set is like 30mill which is CRAZY PRICE! then the helm is another 8mill on top! SO I was going Avadon cuz it's cheaper to get! :D I can probably get BW Set after I sell all my stuff plus my CG stuff I still gotta sell BUT it's expensive heh

Ouch, it's even worth then on Lionna. Here tunic+stokings are no more then 20m..
Ya I basically just got all of he BW except the top robe piece & it was al about 12-15 mill for the helm/gloves/boots & now all I need is the robe!
