Have few questions:
1. How come there are so many bots in game? Almost every noobie locations have hundreds of them. And noone seems to be interested in them.
2. Do you support them? (Didn't saw anyone banning them.)
3. Does NCSoft has GM's? Whenever I type /gmlist I always get "NO GM's bla bla bla...". Maybe you need some? I'm willing. for ALL petitions I get "give us the name of the bot.... bla bla". If I would be writing every bot name in petiiton then all my petitions would expire in 5 minutes.
4. Are GM's seaarching for bots? or they just drink tea and coffie? On all the private servers bots are banned on sight. Why on official servers they are allowed? Because they PAY real money?
Please. I ask GM's to answer me. (If they can). No flood and flame plz.
This is a major issue on all the servers - I'm on Gustin.
Have a look in the technical issues section on this forum, there's a whole thread about the bots, might help you to see what - if any - NCSofts position is on bots.
I can sympathise m8 ......I have read there stance on bots though and its against the eula .....they also say they banned so many thousand .......yet I seen a good lot at the obvious newb grinding spots .......I even became a murderer once because i was so frustrated with them I started killing them ))
Heres hoping they dont make your game a misery, I also believe that people who use bots and buy adena are killing game balance and in the long term it will make the game immpossible for standard 1 account non cheating players to compete .....I sometimes try to find a quite spot in one of the non standard grind places when bots are bad but that can be a pain.

Razekuss - Teon server
Nerfs could be another negative result of people buying adena and bots turbo grinding 24/7 ........thats why as mentioned before people should look at big picture as opposed to focussing purely on their personal gain.
Herein lies the issue...bots are easy enough to spot right?
And if you play next to them they'll run all day and not break and not ever say a word.
If you atk one though you usually get a PM in short order.
Why?
The bot program obviously has some alert that tells someone sitting at the computer doing whatever he does while he's not actually manning his little train that something is out of sorts.
I should imagine the same thing is the case if a GM petitions them or whatnot. So then you have a little fellow that pops on...answers the GM with a,"No...botting? Who? Not me...just uh...triple-tri boxing...it's all the rage really...."
So they can't be banned for botting that way because they answer with a live voice.
Alright...what if you ban them on actions alone? That's a slippery slope I'm thinking NCSoft doesn't want to take.
So they ban all the 9 man bot parties. And then the 5 mans...and then the duos and trios that run in PH and the noob areas....
And then the hunt is on. You'll have a million complaints from real players that were banned for being on AF while they went to grab a cup of coffee, or from dual-boxers that have, after 2 years of play, perfected the art of using their /assist macros, or from the clannies that are mostly afk but are helping their new members by giving them buffs every 20 minutes.
It's not hard to see where the botting begins...but where do you stop before you alienate your whole client base?
It sucks, but it's a little more complicated than it looks at face value.
You have a point about the macros .......but if what the guy say is true about other servers and they can manage to ban the bots I dont see why nc staff cannot ........if it is also true about there being no gms on then there is why a problem exists .......Also I am certainly not suggesting ban people right out but after doing checks for maybe 3 or 4 days it should be clear in most cases if the person is a bot.
I agree with what you say to a degree that it is a more complex issue than at face value but to me over usage of bots and other cheating methods could seriously ruin a great game and thus needs serious attention. Finally I re-iterate that you do have a very good point in regards to macros.
