SE armors

I am wondering if it is better for an SE at 52+ to wear Light armor or robes. I am asking this because we get a light armor skill that states it increases mp regen and casting speed but how much? If anyone could aid me in finding this out that would be helpful.

All that does is get you to your base casting speed.

Robes, however, give you the advantage of faster casting. At least, that's what I've found. I went Avadon for the +15% casting speed, coupled with a SoV (Acumen) for another +15.

I've seen a lot of SE's in BW light or robes, though.

BW robes. The +3 WIT puts you even slightly faster casting than majestic (which is 15%), plus more mp than light armor.

I agree. I used to use Avadon on my SE then switched to BW. I like BW robes a lot more. You get the +3 WIT (which is better than 15% cast speed of avadon). But you also get a boost to MP regen (about 5%) which does help some too.

For weapons my pick is SoES with bodily blessing SA. I put +4 WIT tattoos and with BW and acumen2 potions the cast speed is plenty fast for duos (not fast enough for PvP ...). The extra 25% to HP is awesome particularly if you use the SE primarily in a duo or any party without prophet / warcryer / bishop buffs. The added plus is the shock you see on some people that you buff and they get the BB buff and say "I didn't know SE got that buff" with surprise.

i think its more like 25% or possibly closer to 30 with +5 wit
pdef is also superior to any other b grade robes

Avadon is a good alternative if you can't afford the 20+ million for the BW.

If you dont intend to wear a set, because its to expensive like in my case. Go for light. The base castingspeed difference between Robe and Light is ~10 pts.
A Bsps is more than enough to bring your Heals to acceptable Level and Speed in most PvE situations.

Falexi SE

Increased regen and casting simply means increased over no armor at all, not equal to or better than robes. Most SE's only use light rather than robe for added Pdef in PvP. The preferred PvP for SE's is BW light and preferred PvE is BW robes.

However, Avadon robe is a much better value at 14 to 15m compared to BW robe at 22 to 25m. (Bartz). The numbers between the 2 are just not that different. On a L62 SE,
BW has 236 more MP ( 2539 vs 2303 ), BW has 10 more Pdef ( 520 vs 510 ).
Avadon has 2 more MA ( BW 91 vs Ava 93 ). Ava had 7 more MD ( 626 vs 633 ). BW has 2 more CastSp ( 402 vs 400 ).

MP regen for BW is just a bit better, 1 more MP per 4 ticks than Ava, not enough to make a huge difference.

The only ++gear used in this comparison was a +3 BW Helm.
Hard to justify 5 to 10m difference for so little a difference in the numbers.

Blue Wolf Tunic by itself goes for 30 million on Sieghardt, a full Tallum Set is almost cheaper then a full BW Robe set.

Kain the tunic ryns at 14mil, same on erica...mite be about 14-18mil.

Avadon on the other hand is going for around 20 mil. for s whole set.
