howdy all. well i dont wanna sound all sentimental and what not but i've a request for all the L2 gamers (casual and hardcore) to please stick with this game and not cancel your accounts. now you might ask why do i say this, during my free time at work, i like to go to the forums of different L2 sites and try to consume all the general info that I can.
I was at mmorpg.com today, a site that I visit at least once a day just to check up on L2 news and other games as well. now i'm sure everyone is aware of the bot/farming situation in our game, but my point is that this situation is not just in L2 but pretty much in every mmo thats out there, and yes everytime i read users' reviews and comments about L2, i get disheartened to see people giving this game a bad name. i think that L2 is probably the most underrated game in the mmo genre right now. but anyways back to the point, i've been playing L2 for almost three months now and gotten my main toon to 41, finished the class change quests, and now i'm a DE SK. i'm pretty proud of the time that i've invested in it, and i feel that i've accomplished a lot in my 3 months (ofcourse my wifey tends to disagree, as to her its a total waste of time, tsk tsk i guess she'll never understand).
anyhow, i wanted to ask all of you, the newcomers, the veterans, the regulars, to please stay with this game. i read the forums here, and other places and i get the feeling that there are many other (North American) gamers out there that do enjoy with what we got. i dont know how others feel but, i'd hate to lose the gamers that are already active, everytime i logon, i enjoy seeing the community going about there business in the L2 world, selling/buying/grinding/raiding/arguing (and yes even griefing). there are ups and downs downs in this game, but then again every game has that. so far i've gotten all the help i can get from the community in-game, in-forums, etc., and that has elevated my L2 experience to upper levels.
not everyone has to agree with my thinking and my ideas, but i urge you to not get annoyed by those reviews that the others give, i'm sure majority of them post their insights after doing the trial or just playing for maybe a week or two (...if that). my very first mmo was Guild Wars, and i really enjoyed getting away from the mainstream fps genre that i was addicted to, after playing GW, EQ2, WoW, i came to L2 and stuck with it. sometimes i see other players here with more then 1 characters that are in the high 50s and 60s and i say to myself that man i dont know if i'll be able to invest time in more than one character, my main is more than enough for me. and then i think that this is good, people enjoy it and people play it. to all the 1337h@x0rs, the veterans, and n00bs (like myself), i say we try our best to make L2 better, try to play the way its meant to be played, and 'try' to keep our community growing.
Well, if it's any comfort, I've read some of those others sites posts of "I'm quitting" as well and guess what? Most of those people come back eventually (this game is crack I tell ya!). Of course people will come and go (most of my old clan is gone). Addicts like me will stay.
Take those posts with a grain of salt. The majority of them are people that get banned for cheating then claim to be offended by cheaters.
I'm going nowhere for a long time and as far as I'm aware everyone I know in game (and there's quite a few) doesn't plan to either. A lot of them won't even change over when L3 arrives. Don't worry you'll not be alone ;)
Well Im glad you enjoy the game. I get bored sometimes and take an L2 vacation but I dont think I will leave for quite some time. I do agree it is a great game. Im going to need to be here for a while if I ever expect to be at the top level. I spend to much time doing other things. There is alot to do here. I didnt read your whole post. Im at work and trying to look somewhat busy. But dont worry about people going anywhere. They come and go. I dont think we are losing near as many players as everyone thinks we are. I regularly make trips to starter towns and see people with the little fairy over there heads. Ok im going to stop rambling now. Its time for my smoke break :cool:

the question is when you saw them red . . . did You enjoy yourself :)
I knew what they were up to and left them alone. Come to think of it, I should've buffed them.
NOOOO!! LOL buffs are bad if I dont know they are coming. In my profession im a bit on edge I pk'd a guy that was buffing me. He didnt say a word just started buffing I freaked out and killed the hell out of him. I felt so bad for it. Buffs with warnings first please! lol and yes we did have fun. I wont even tell you the story about how we later got owned by a pixy.

Well Tezra is a perma red on a mission. Normally dont kill a player unless im attacked first. But I get attacked often.(Which is why i wear NG jokes on my killer that way.) My job has many hazzards so freaking out from time to time happens. :)

Well, of course you are right. No one will stay unless they are having some sort of fun. One of the worst things I see in game is when people start whining "I'm bored". That really ****** me off. If you are bored then do something about it. Do something else!
Though I think the OP has a point. With these online games, sometimes you just have to be a little loyal to see much needed changes. It's when nothing changes over the course of the game (and L2 is due for a change) that you start to think "why".

Ya know nothing is beteer than when someone see's me all red so they come and kill me and get a pair of gloves worth 5k at most. and maybe 30 seal stones that i keep on me in hope they drop before other stuff. That's the truth. I've quit several times to play single player games (like Oblivion). As much as people on Lineage complain about how HARD it is the fact is the other games are just too bloody easy to play for long. I finished Oblivion is about a month - at $50+ / game that is a lot more expensive than playing Lineage and honestly Lineage is more fun. There's nothing quite as exhilarating as the live action with other real people (how many single players games have AI good enough to drop a train of mobs on you???).
It's just too bad the marketing for Lineage is not adequate to keep a steady stream of new players coming. That is the only sad thing right now with Lineage. I remember back in Prelude how crowded the fields around the starter villages were. Now they are an empty wasteland. If you walk into SODA today the only "players" there don't use SS and we all know what that means ;) Hopefully, Lineage will stay vibrant for at least another year in the high level areas ...

Also, actually, I overheard a conversation where one person was saying how someone kept climbing to the top of a building and kept jumping off. And then the other person said "well, that's because she is an idiot".
I almot fell out of my chair from laughing so hard.

ofcourse, i agree with that if someone doesnt enjoy the game then he/she should not pay and cancel their account, thats common sense. thats why the title of the post is 'regular gamers.' but yes just to re-iterate if the game is getting to a point where having fun is no longer existing then by all means, a player should do what they have to do. i just wanted to share my thoughts with the regular L2 community.

you got lucky... My buddy called me at work and now I have a tee time, so rerolling on your server might nto happen. Although I was encouraged when i saw I didn't have to lvl to 61 to pk you. :)

That person they're talking about is an Acrobatics Master trainer.
But anyway, I'll probably stick around L2 until L3 comes out, and that's assuming that L3 is actually better. As far as I'm concerned there's no better MMO on the market out there that suits my specific taste. My busy life doesn't permit me to stay around all year, but I'll come back whenever I have the time to.
