Newb L2 player LF help

Hey guys,

I'm really new to the whole L2-thing :)
Played WoW before, decided to quit because i need a change and L2 seems to be just the right choice.

Anyway, this is probably the most asked question and I truely hope this isn't boring you to death (I read the FAQ but didn't find the definite answer), but I need some help on deciding which class to play.

First of all im more PvP orientated, PvE is nice but mostly PvP. Then I always enjoyed Damage Dealing characters (such as the rogue/hunter in WoW), Buffing or healing is not the thing I feel most comfortable with. So, what I'm looking for is a serious Damage Dealing class, be it caster ranged or melee. What I also care about is style and feel of the charater. I want my char to have awesome looking styles when casting/striking/shooting.

So what I want to know is: which class would suit the DD role best in terms of actual damage dealt and style

P.s.: I don't really like orcs :P
Try Archer of some sort. At the moment Archers and Mages seem to be the Heavy Hitters in PvP.

This is not to say that you couldn't be a melee and do well, especially since the next chronicle is going to balance certain things for melee.

Good Luck and welcome to the game.
Hi there.

There is a lot of DD's in L2.

Just stay away from tank types (Temple Knight, Shillien Knight etc.), the pole types and Dwarfs (War Smith, Warlord etc) and the buffing/healing types (Prophet, Elven Oracle, SwS etc).

You will probably choose a Mage/Ranger/Rogue (to use WoW terms).

Examples are.

Abyss walker - Dark Elf Rogue

Silver Ranger - Elven Ranger

Sorceror - Human Mage

Good luck,

G
As far as style goes a female human gladiator or a female DE bladedancer is super stylish. Archer DOES seem like what you're looking for but they lack the flair of the two mentioned previously. don't get me wrong they still look rockin' but they just don't have that, "holdy crap that looked awesome" effect.
Hi,

thank you a lot for answering my question so fast :) your help is really appreciated.

I have another question, what would be the advantages/disadvanteges of mage/archer or gladiator thingie type of characters?
Yeah agreed BD's look mighty stylish.

However I think there Dps is lower than other more specific DD classes, oh and didnt he say he did not want a buffing type of class..cant remember..

G
ohh right you are. SpS and Sorc i think have very stylish nukes. enough so that i'm going to go sorc for my sub and they do decent damage. Plus anything that can AOE can level quickly.
Same as in WoW.

Mages - Heavy hitting, low HP, low defence and reliant on mana.

Archers - Moderate HP, Moderate Defence, Slowish attack speed, not as much damage as mage and a bit less mana dependant.

I should point out I have played neither btw!
