Chat Font Size.

Is there any command or way to increase my chat font size?

I like to play in 1280 x 1024, but the writing on my 17 inch monitor is almost impossible to read. Reason i like this is because the UI is very bulky and takes up alot of room, so to see more of the game i like to minimize the UI by increasing my screen resolution but then i cant read my chat lol.

Its a dilema and its frustrating, any help here would be greatly appreciated.
OMG... I have the same monitor - 17inch, and I use 1024 resolution... All is OK, I can read chat and other messages... Perhaps you need to check your vision? ;)
I am using a 21" monitor with a 1600 rez and the writing in chat sucks. Especially the Clan color. You need to spin around so the background is a light color
try 2560x1600...... you think things are small.. lol... that makes things look quite pweany even if it's a 30inch... but being widescreen, doesn't help either..

althought a good quality display will make reading it alot easier... and i do well.
i dont think you can actually adjust it...but the interface is slowly getting better and better with each chronicle maybe there will be some sort of fix in c4..
Actually, you have a valid point. In addition to the transparent text box that makes certain text colors unreadable when the camera faces a light background, the type of font used plays a big part in how readable the text is.

There are two basic typefaces, Serif and Sans Serif. Serif typefaces are typically used in large groups of text like a paragraph. Sans Serif typefaces are typically used in smaller groups of text such as headlines and captions.

One might think that the clean lines of sans serif typefaces make it easier to read when small, but that idea is simply not true. The serifs, spurs, fillets, and ears (these are all letterform parts) of a serif typeface are what make that typeface readable at small sizes.

The graphic designers for L2 must have missed their typography classes, because they have used poor design techniques in the font choice for the game. To use an awful sans serif that reeks of Arial Unicode was a mistake on their part. A nice solid serif like Times New Roman or Perpetua, or even a beauty like Georgia (my personal favorite typeface atm) would be much more readable at a smaller size and in a large body of text such as the in game chat.

Shame on NCSoft for hiring bad designers, because as real graphic designers know, BAD DESIGN KILLS (http://www.baddesignkills.com/)!

I think you might of read it wrong, i use 1024 x 728 32bit resolution, but i want to use 1280 x 1024 32 bit.

Try it with your 17 inch monitor and see how close to the screen you have to sit to read the writing. ;)

With no way to adjust the font size, its impossible to read the writing with a high screen resolution reguardless of the size of the screen.

What makes it worse is, its the only way to reduce the size of the bulky windows in the UI so you can see more the the beautiful game without having to peer through transparent windows.
weird, I have a 17" monitor and my res is set to 1600x1200...and I can see just fine....

hmmm...just measured my monitor and apparently it's 18'...exactly. I think my monitor has compensation issues...

IF it's a CRT.. and you have 18" veiwable.. then you have a 19" monitor

if you have a LCD.. and it's 18" viewable.. that's messed up
