Lineage 2 real life items/guide book

ha, its been so long since someone posted about that guide book that that company (forgot its name) was doing that I forgot its name!

Ya know, again, it would go a long way to show your fans for this game by releasing that guide book in ANY form. I think we are waaaaay overdue for one. I would love to just get a book about this game that I"ve played for a number of YEARS now just so that I can have something physical to show for it and thumb through.

Myth, Lore, Class descriptions, Item Craft, Drop Tables (yeah I know wishful thinking right?) and the whole works!!!

And how about them nifty L2 figurines guys? I mean they have em in Korea don't they? Why dont you guys have like an ecommerce site here so that we can order through it and buy some L2 merchandise? You guys are supposed to be making money and you have a web team don't you? Its so easy to put together an ecommerce site!!! I can do it in 1 week for pete's sake! C'mon!

...anywho, I would again plead that you guys come out with some kind of guide/lore whatever book for us fanbois. It would go a long way to show that you guys are still devoted to servicing the players here.
Hm, i'm quite new to the world of Lineage II (only 6 months of casual playing, and only lv43 :p) but from what i read on these boards it seems that there are a lot of things available in Korea about this game that we dont get over here...
Why is that ?
I mean, this is 21st century, like Blazer said everything can be sold and bought over the Internet, so why isnt there more "side" stuff available for Lineage II here in Europe and USA ?
Moreover, if those things are already created, it wont cost much just to make them available, and it could create the buzz that this game so badly needs...
Every time i have to tell people what game i play, i find myself saying "you know, it's kinda like World of Warcraft" cos nobody has a clue about Lineage II !
This game is so superior to WoW (and most other MMO for that matter) on so many aspects (except for the economic system of course :)) that it's really a shame NCSoft doesnt do enough to promote it, like Blizzard has done...
Yes it takes money, but you have to spend money to earn more money :p
to be honest, I don't think its business savy to have a guide made . . . at least for a MMO. MMOs change. With each patch/publish/chronicle the guide would have to be re-made and reprinted. The ones that were sitting on the self would be unsellable as their info is either out of date or incorrect. Its an expense that has no real guarentee of generating a profit.
It's worthwhile if you have a large enough audience. Obviously the expense has to be justified by the profit.
oddly enough, with the time table for putting it together, editing and printing . . . it could be considered out of date before it leaves the printer.
basically all a guide would have to do is copy the stratics site
i really dont think we need one
If we had one, nobody would have to be an outlaw to get drop tables...

Prima Guides... are still on sale on amazon mind you... and on this site not so long ago.

Fortunately not so - all the necessary data is available months before the chronicle hits the US servers, so as far as an English guide is concerned, creating it in advance would be possible.

Note that the Korean homepage is a fount of information (although often one chronicle out of date) that would easily fill a book when printed: Spawn locations, drops, weapon statistics, game mechanics, lore, artwork, additional stories, and an incredible fashion room tool (S Grade only, darn 'em!), although the latter would hardly be printable if you don't want to make a book just about the character models.

What he said :) Thanks. Just go to lineage2.stratics.com or check out the library on this site and you'll find just about all the info you desire, including droplists.
Droplists without quantities and chances aren't really all that helpful - lots of players enjoy knowing all the nitty gritty details (http://rodatazone.simgaming.net/) of their game - cubic trigger rate, dagger special land rate, accurate critical mechanics, accurate SA mechanics, exhaustive quest reward lists, quest propabilities and fishing water quality details come to mind.

I know NCSoft is reluctant to release these because it might destroy the "mystery" of the game, but I have to say that I honestly don't see how it would do any harm beyond faciliating private servers, which will never compare to live even if they get all the info.
Ahh! Prima guide, that's it.

Well I know a lot of information is already out there like Stratics, Warcry and even here, but my I think it would be a great idea to have a physical book. I'd buy an item thats done well with illustrations about my favorite game. I'm willing to bet a lot of other people would pay for a book like that as well. I mean people buy books all the time and so why not one for fans out there of this game? D&D has several books out there filled with illustrations, game background, etc... I think it would be a good idea to have an updated book made.
How about "An L2 Player's Guide to Real Life" instead?

It shoows quantities and there is a site for drop chances. It all still works pretty well.

Since NCSoft isn't going to make a prima guide, might as well go with what we got or help IMPROVE what we got, but most people are terribly reluctant of doing such.
Ok, but i was refering to the 2nd part of Blazer post, about the figurines and all...
I'm not sure about a reference book, but i'd really like to see more "marketing" stuff about L2, figurines, TShirts, comics, i dont know, why not even a real pen & paper RPG (like Blizzard did with Warcraft) ?
Anything that could take Lineage to the eye of a wider audiance should be considered !
Yeah, I would like to see that too, but sadly I doubt NCSoft is going to do anything about that, except perhaps a collectors edition, but that paper-elf in the last one was just nuts.
I want a nuts paper elf :(

If you look/search hard enough, you can find a couple L2 illustration books. I have two that are from Japan. My wife came back from a trip to Japan last month and brought me a couple of the L2 comic books (one is a panel comic book with comics similar to Stabby). A friend who went to Korea got me a DE key chain.
I haven't seen any L2 figures/toys yet, but that doesn't mean their not out there. Only real figurines I've seen are the Ragnarok ones.
Last year at San Diego Comic Con, the NCSoft booth had the creative staff there from the City of Heroes comics. They do marketing... but it doesn't seem they do it for L2. :(
Greetings,

Hmmmm, this gives me an idea...

Since official folks are going to Korea all the time, maybe they could bring back some of that cool swag over here, and hand it out to folks through contests, events or meet and greets...

Ah, my bad - I didn't trace stratics much recently (for obvious reasons) and thus didn't notice the quantities being added. Definitely a viable source for base mats drops then - but still, NCSoft should simply release the actual drop rates also. For things like recipes, it makes a difference whether it drops at 1/10000 or 1/20000.
