This question was brought about by the other thread asking what can be dropped. I felt this was specific enough to merit it's own thread.
When I have a pet summoned, such as my wolf, I cannot trade the collar or drop it on the ground. This makes me wonder if the animal is currently summoned and I die is it possible for me to drop it? Red or otherwise?
I may need to get a n00b toon make it go red about 8 times and PK it over and over to see if a summoned pet drops or not... unless someones else has a solid answer.

a summoned pet can drop even when summoned
i havent seen it happen but i know some of the pet lovers on the forums have had it happen
You also need to keep a close eye on your inventory when hunting with your pet out. if your inventory fills up and you d/c with your pet out it cannot return to its flute/collar and will permanently dissapear.
Also, if your inventory is full, and you unsummon your pet, everything in the pet's inventory will drop on the ground. So make sure you always have 2 slots free for armor and weapon + potions/ss if the pet uses any.
Okay I went to DE Swampland to try this out. However.... the only thing I really did was go red. I placed my lvl 44 wolf on a lvl 5 toon and killed 42 of the soulless. lol I had to do the first class proff change yesterday for my wife's up and comping alt. It took me forever because I needed to kill Zombies and everything was getting killed before I could cast by "soulless" players. So I just spent an hour killing them over and over... and over. By the way they don't auto log when a red pet comes near like they do when a red player comes near. Just stand back and send in the wolf. I wasn't able to run the test because I had to go on my main quickly for a clan PvP.
