Ok i have just hit A grade with my SH and i have Dark Crystal ready to wear BUT i want to get tatts +4 Int -4Men and a +4 Wit -4Men with mabe a +1 Int -1Men in there as well. So i was thinking mabe Majestic Robe set would be better with the tatts coz i still get speed and attack but i also have the mana regen bonus, so here i am undecided, any one else have this combo of tatts with either a DC set or MAJ set or any advice please help :D thanks
SH dont need mana regen... you've got body to mind. If your really stuck on getting better mp regen for PvE.. you could get yourself a NM set. Though as a SH, I would recommend sticking with DC. Reducing Int for any nukers isnt something I'd recommend. For SpS and Sorc.. its not healthy, and for SH, its just a shame.
DC for PvP and for solo... NM/Demon for groups for SH is what I'd suggest.
The only reason I thought MAJ was its only - 1 INT
and I can get that back with tatts if it get a
+1 int - 1 men and a +4 int -4 men,
so i have cast speed, mana regen and get M.Atk back with the tatts.
I have DC so i will stick with it for now. Seeing as everyone has it, it must be good. But I would really like to try out the MAJ, set up with those tatts, has any ones else tried it?
Or should I just forget about as a bad idea?
It was a question about MAJ being any better in the set up I described compared to DC because I was thinking of a switch, I was merely wondering.... and wanted some help deciding.
A few nukers do wear Majestic simply for the stun resistance, but DC is generally the preferred set from a pure DPS perspective. Wearing Majestic for MP regen purposes is a complete waste, as you will be hard-pressed to notice the difference.
I really don't know how anyone can stand Nightmare even in PvE. The damage per shot is a little greater, but the casting speed (and thus the refresh on spells, including Body to Mind) is painfully slow. Nightmare and Demon are only potentially useful if wearing either set saves you a shot on a mob; otherwise you might as well not bother.
and best weapon u can afford.. like som + shield..
I think this is by far the best setup for an SH. The only case you might need majestic is if you fought an archer in PvP (stun shots are a mage killer). In all other cases, Belophan setup is the right one.

SH cast speed in DC is faster than in Maj.
SH P. def is better in DC than in Maj.
SH movement speed in DC is better than in Maj.
Yes, Archers are mage killers, but you worry less about the stun and more about the spell interruption. Being stunned once is not as much of an issue with the +4Con -4Str dye as noted.
Finally for the OP, I don't mean to condescend, but please explain your playstyle. Any SH at level 61+ that steps into DC Set and is still worried about mana regen makes every other SH raise an eyebrow.
What class have you been playing for the last 60 levels? At level 25 you should have learned Body to Mind. At 30 you should have learned Corpse Life Drain. At 40 you should have learned Clear Mind. You should have received higher levels of each of these along the way to 61. MP regen is not something an SH should be concerned about for obvious reasons.
Go with DC set. As for the dyes, those are up to you, but I tend to agree with the above tats that AndreasK suggested.
Thanks for all ur help :D
Dark Crystal it is with +4 CON - 4 STR and other tatts mentioned. Im glad to know that MAJ is not any better for SH mana regen. I do use B2M and corpse life drain combo, but just wanted to know if MAJ could make it better, well obviously not. So a big thank you to all the people who made positive comments, and helped me decide that dark crystal IS the best, and that I did make the right decision in the begining, when I went with DC, I wish u all luck and hope you all get good drops :D

There are tatts combinations enough out there to increase the speed of your casting, including a weapon with acumen. Currently my sorceress has the demon ste and will stay that way till she reaches A grade (which won't be long). Aftre that she's going for the NM set.
Currently my Casting speed is way faster then ever before with the tatts and when receiving buffs like zerk and acumen it even races up. I have no problems with spell cool down time, it's basically something to get used to, like with anything else really.
Pf course Majority will stick to DC as that seems to be the prefered (fashionable) way to go for all nukers. But I don't agree. It must be a reflection of your palystyle, which is a part some players forget about ;) Originality and integrity :)
PS: By no means do I mean that DC isn't a good choise ;) Just doesn't work for the game play I do. So basically it's up to you to see how you prefere to profile your toon.
Yes I would argue for not reducing your MEN so much and either going +INT tats and DC, or +WIT tats and NM. Add a bit more cast speed with acumen pots and a acumen SA and you still have plenty of cast speed, and with only -4 to -6 MEN instead of -10 MEN (which hurts your mdef significantly and in C5 will make you more vulnerable to sleep, root and other debuffs).
My personal set up on my SH is:
+5 INT -5 MEN
+4 CON -4 STR
So no WIT tats at all, but then I gain cast speed from:
DC set (+2 WIT here, and +15% cast speed on top)
Acumen SA (another +15% speed)
Greater Magic Haste Pots (again, more speed)
End result is even with no WIT tats my cast speed is respectable enough, and I dont nerf my mdef/regen/c5 resistances as much by reducing my MEN.
When you really need lightning cast speed (i.e. PvP), you'll usually have buffs readily available, so it's no biggie.

its the best setup for any nuker. Basically men is wortheless and so is strength so
+4 int
+4 wit
+4 con
all at the expense of losing basically nothing...something has to be done with this.
I'm personally going
+5 Int -5 Men
+4 Wit -4 Men
Nightmare Robes
and debating between SoM w/Acumen and BotMT w/Acumen (which is waaaay cheaper and looks better but doesn't allow shield <shrugs>)
The bottom line is. Take what suits *you*, be unique ;)

I'm very aware of the tattoo possibilities (+4 WIT on a nuker is standard, as is xping with buffs like Acumen and Zerk), but once you have tried DC, you will find it difficult to wear Nightmare.
I'm not trying to argue you out of your decision to use that set, but the DC set bonuses are so much better, so I do recommend that you reconsider or at least test DC first, especially if you plan to engage in PvP, because Nightmare definitely does not cut it in the casting speed department there.
