Hey guys, I'm debating about what tats / armor sets I should aim for for a BD (B-grade). I'm going Blue Wolf for B-grade for sure, maybe getting Tallum for A-grade if I can afford it and using Doom B-grade for PvP, but I'm curious: should I up my str more with tattoos, should I lean toward the dex symbols, or should I not take any tattoos at all (so I don't take any other hits to my con)? Tough decisions
63 bd here, +5 str +4 dex. It is safe to admit that you arent a force in pvp except for your dances. If you are willing to accept that and are willing to become one of the heaviest hitting melee classes in pve then do this build. Your goal should be maximum critical attacks, maximum attk speed and maximum strength. I outdamaged any melee class I grinded with that was around or equal to my level, and constantly would grab aggro, enjoy!

And this means you will end up tanking. In almost all my groups I tank, and having 21 Con just isnt nice for this. Even with Majestic armour you get stunned every time somebody looks at you, which in turn means you die, and you die a lot. It really isnt worth the +4Dex for the extra 5% damage output, when you compare it to 20% loss in HP, and a [censored] load of stun resist...
B-Dub nerfs DEX to hell and back. The funny part is that it compensates for this by having a speed (movement) bonus, but does nothing to increase your attack speed. This is the primary reason why +5Dex is a consideration at B grade if you're wearing BW Heavy.
At A grade, or in any other armor at B grade, most would opt for the extra +1STR.
At the end of the day, though, you can go without adding either +1 more of STR or DEX. It's not a ground shaking improvement either way. It's not like you're a mage who gets a noticeable difference in damage or cast speed with +1 increase of their INT or WIT stats.

I havent ever had any problems dying. If i was dead it would usually mean the whole party was dead and that is from a lot more factors than just me. Albeit i am still in BW heavy w/ B grade duals and I cant afford A grade.
I have done dvc, toi very many times without a hitch and it works very well for when I just want to duo with se buffs. To each their own I suppose.
i am level 63 BD
i got a other setup for you ;)
-2 STR -2 CON +4 DEX
use Tsu*Tsu or Tsu*SLS but most be +10
get DC Light and you get forever enjoyment in nercro's only 1 thing you most keep in mind you cant take on more then 3 critters at ones and NEVER fight stun critters o yeah if you use dance's a lot get also +4 Wit it boost MP regeneration up a lot and landings of hex
with a SE of 62 buffed
you get a critical rate of 178 with tsu*tsu with Tsu*sls its 176

WIT doesnt increase MP regeneration, neither will it help the landing of HEX. MEN is responsible for the first and INT responsible for MATK on which HEX is somewhat dependant. And why the hell DC light over Tallum heavy lol.

Ok, to each his own...but that is an INSANE set up. And I don't mean that in a good way. ;)
Let's ignore the fact that DC Light is quite possibly the ugliest armor ever devised. At B grade you can get away with wearing Light armor under some circumstances PVE. At A grade you get the best combination of p.def and speed in a heavy armor set.
Secondly, why go -2 STR? You've just offset the +1 STR and part of the +4% p.atk bonuses of the DC Light. One step forward, two steps back??? That can't be good.
The WIT dye is certainly thinking outside of the box, but maybe not for the reasons that you think. Assisting with mp regen??? Or did you mean spell recycle time?
Finally, a highly enchanted weapon tends to hide deficiencies. A +10 weapon almost always gives you the illusion that your armor setup and dye arrangements are effective. After all a +10 B grade dual, depending on the set, generally has better p.atk than low A grade duals. Try that same setup with only +4 duals. At +4, you should be more than competent PVE. If not, then scratch your armor and dye set and start over.
I suggest trying the Tallum Heavy set or stick with one of the B Grade Heavy sets. Anything but Light Armor. And drop the -2 STR dye. Please. :D :D :D
BDs are the Damage Dealer support class. They are the closest thing to a battle prophet out there that NCSoft actually thought off first.
You want +5 Str +4 Dex. Or +4 Dex +4 Str +4 Int if you want your Drain to be a nasty nuke and your Hex to always land.
Attack speed, running speed, attack power, crit chance and crit rate are all big factors with BDs. If i had one i would go
+4 Dex
+4 Int
+4 Str
This will make u a crazy death brining machine. The only thing out there that wont own you and wont get ownt by you is the sws. The only tank buffer class. BD vs SWS is an awsome match imo.
why do i out damage a TH with a high enchent dagger?
in dark omen the first critters forgoten name this bugs i critical them around 1200 a blade so 2400 if both lands
only high enchent A duels beat Tsu*Tsu +10 or higher
Bro this game count only on Criticals who whanna spend 1MIL SS into a Critter go ahead ;)
but toon setup bepands very much on duel you use if you use
the right dyes for the duels i alwas say's
o yeah for the DC light it got a lot more then only +4% P.atk also got 4% atk Speed not to say the +4 Evac witch you dont have with heavy wanna say more
If you say it works for you, then enjoy. It's just not the setup that I would go for.
And I wasn't refuting the importance of crits. You're talking to a person who has used +14 Tsu*SLS and +16 Caliburs*SLS, so I know the impact of highly enchanted haste and focus duals. It's your armor and dye set up that I think could be improved, not your weapon choice.

A properly setup BD almost always outdamages a dagger unless he is spamming specials.
2400 damage is nothing special, on the right mobs, with the right buffs, you should be hitting closer to 3500.
hmm only expect if you critical for eatch or close 3 hits :P
so it dont look like much of critical damage but on the long run its a LOT
so long i make 25% xp's in 4 hours to the cost of 3000 BSS
with a 75K green stones i think it's very efficent very fast and very cheap
but i am open to sugestions to even inprove efficentcy a lot more
