One of my RL friends just started and i was taking her to all the sights of Aden and Elmore and decided to take her on the heine boatride. Some alliance stuff came up and she waiting in Heine for about 45 minutes. It just happened to be during wishing well and when i came back she told me that she was afraid of y'all.

Unfortunately you dont' get that kind of RP on company owned servers usually. Most UO private servers (which were supported by Origin ddly enough) had only a few hundred players and teh GM's did their jobs because they loved it and had no compensation. Some kinds of quality can't be bought. Also chat boxes are teh suck.
No but official support goes a long way towards improving things. Events happen, GM's pay attention to players so that griefers (who aren't RPing) are removed. That sort of thing. Active GM's in an RP community do a lot for improving the environment in which you play.
Chessy fel used to be good. Public server but they somehow got the RP right. I was on Oceania but a xserver friend did a Chessy tour for me and a few OrB leaders and tried to teach us to speak OrK.

Ok so I was a part of Bloodrock on Great Lakes for like, 4 years. Kind of cool to see a lot of UO RP'ers here. But I have to agree, UO RP free-shards beat out any game pay-shard for RP value. Even on here you'll find a lot of the RP'ers not RP'ing half the time. I'd rather do all or nothing (besides it gets hard talking to you numbskulls lyk ah uruk oll dai lun! w'ruum uu lern sum uruk tok?! mayk eet eezi fer ee!)

That's what the private servers were for man, since they had so much support from Origin they were able to do a lot with the content. Add in new races, modify the combat and crafting, and all sorts of other fun stuff.

OMG out of curiosity i looked up the old RP server i played on and it did not die when the GM who housed the server quit as i had thought. It is a thriving and active RP community still. Looks like 2 games for Kir.
I'm pretty sure I'm not creative or imaginative enough to do it and I for dam sure know I don't know all the typing styles to do it!
To be honest, we have a range of people with experience. Many of us just sit and "listen" and enjoy the pieces performed by those who get up to do their thing.
Just this last week, in fact, Terricia got up for her first performance ever.
That followed my firework display, and the all around good time had by all.
You're always welcome to sit and listen, and if you think you have a good piece (not all of us write our own things), you can surely contribute.
Yes congrats on keeping it running. I remember back when it was in Floran. Back when I used to RP, not so much so more just cause well I dont :)
But if I do see someone walking around town or the field somewhere RP I open up the RP chest and pay some respects with some nice RP back. Just to show em that they way they are playing the game is fine and to keep enjoying it
