Hello I'm a new player to Lineage and just go my first character a Dark Wizard to Lvl 20 and I was just wondering what exactly the 2 different summons do. I've tried finding info on them but have been having trouble. It looks like they take away XP from you from what I've read.
Do the abilities change as you get higher levels of their skill or are they always the same?
One is more for PvE and The other I think is more for PvP. However, if you are going to go the route of Spellhowler, you will probably never (or rarely use them). (the one that takes the least xp is for PvE.)
I don't think their abilites change with lvl but they just get stronger.
The reset timer on the spell is too long to really be of use. If you do go Phantom Summoner then all that will change.
Anyone else got any info?? Like what the benefits of having them out is. It says the Silo pet has magic attacks I didnt see any when I had it out. Also what does the shadow one do?? It has about the same physical stats as the other one, so it doesn't seem that it should really be used for attacking.
Silhouette has a rather weak drain spell, it's right there along its other controls.
Shadow doesn't really shine before you turn summoner (if you want to go that way), since it doesn't have the passive vampiric rage right from the start. It's the summon a summoner uses to xp when soloing.
For a non-summoner there's not much use to summon either (there've been threads about this before..), since a non-summoner lacks both the buffs and good heals the summons need to be really useful. They're useful if you want to hunt non-stop, though, since you can summon one and keep exping while regening, letting the summon tank. Silhouette is also a good adena farming tool with the low cost and high xp drain.
If you're not going to be a summoner, you can safely ignore the summons.
from what i have heard, you can solo with a summon (post lvl 40) for ever. and you won't even notice the xp loss cause you'll be kill everything faster.

Not really faster, no. Unless you're spamming shots on you and the servitor, but a dark wizard only carries that many shots.. Like Physics said, it's more about not having any downtime ever than being a super-fast killer.
