just went throught the search there. how many people does it take, just say between lvl 65-78(mostly in high 60's low 70's) to take him down? and keep in mind of outside buffers and healers
Never done it, but from videos and what I read, if people know what they're doing it takes 40-60, or 60-80. If not a lot more and you still won't get it done :D.
IMO the min amount of people that should go to an antharas raid is in the upper 80's lower 90's, depending on how many nukers you have and what class they are.
My alliance on Lionna did Antharas with around 80 people, while another alliance failed with those same numbers.
So a lot of it is about leader ship as well, not numbers.
we have a great leader, he has got us through many many raids, 70+ raid bosses. but i know that antharas is waaay differnt. and i'm pretty sure that he hasn't done him before. do you have any suggestions? and we arn't all nukers, alot of archers and DDs and such, but we still are 65% nuker. could you give me some tips? like .. do we still need a tank party, what about mp down time...that kinda thing. i have seen many videos of anthras being killed, but couldn't see much tatic, just all out hitting, and we ahve over 100 people, so that should be good, and we are all 60s-78
Melee's job at antharas is basecly to run up and **** away at his legs, doing 6 damage at a time, and dieing alot.
Basecly the tactic that we use is we split our mages into 2 groups, group 1, and group 2. We also assign everyone else to those groups but its moselty about the mages.
Whenever the raid starts Team 1 goes and and just pores mana into Antha. after about a minute, minute and a half of that, or whenever they are low on mana, team 1 goes and does btm or sits/whatever and team 2 goes in and continues with the damage. after another min and a half you swap back.
Archers at antharas die.
A LOT.
Antharas seems to just...HATE them for some reason.
Another thing is, once you get antharas to 25% hp, he gets really, really ****** off and starts going crazy. He does something most people call ( at least on my server ) Death spike, where he kinda spits lava out of his mouth and kills lots of people at once. He also slams his tail down alot which sends people flying and gives them damage from taking a high fall.
ive never lead an Antharas raid so i dont know the exact tactics, but from what ive gathered, thats the basic Gist of it.
perfect. so do your mage groups have out of party regens? or in party? or no mp regen at all?so this is what i was thinking, just let me know how it sounds, 2 group of all archers, lets just say on the east side of him, 2 groups of nukers on the north, 2 groups on the west and 2 groups of the south. 3 groups of melee in the middle just to cause him trouble. one out of party buffer/recharger group for every 2 groups. no that's 117 people, the nukers parties can all rotate ( like you said, for 2 min stright ) and the archers will just shoot every 5 seconds, so they don't all die at once. or.... group of archers on the north and south, and 3 groups of nukers on the east and west. if he hates archers like you say, then he'll probly just run back and forth between then while the nukers burn up his sides....how do they sound?
The most effienient means seem to be at least 1 if not 2 dedicated Archer groups, 2-4 dedicated Nuker groups, 1-2 dedicated Regen Groups, a dedicated Tank group which might or might not help at all anyways, Absalutely NO Malee groups, a dedicated Rez/healer Group. A dedicated Drops Pickup group. And a dedicated Buffer group
Each group aside from the regen/rez/healer/buff groups NEEDs a BD, every group should have a SWS.
Unfortuneatly, ncsoft hasn't figured out how useless some Malee are due to being within range of all of anthras's aoes and the amount of damage he dilivers. Malees need like 2x the pdef and mdef asap.
Basically anthras most of the time will take after the archers, Don't all archers stand in a group, no one should stand in a group at all, bad idea, you'll die. ALL of them will die.
Archers have to learn to balance agroing, if an archer shoots, and sees anthras turn to him, stop shooting and run the hell away until someone else gets his attention, anyone that gets his attention run like hell. Nukers got to be just as careful, you see him turn, run like freaking hell. Make sure not to run into other people, they'll get flattened if not careful.
NO malee there (sws/BD) even bother leaving the range of the groups, don't bother hitting anthras even if you have a bow or range attack, cause your dances/songs are more important then anything, and you can't dance/sing if your dead.
USE UD if you can contain anthras on you. But i'd suggest not using it at all until anthras goes beserk.
Keep only the most important of buffs, don't give people that aren't hitting might or fighter buffs even if they are malee. Don't give nukers or range attacker useless stuff like vr or something. Zerk however is a so-so department, you zerked? you get hit, your dead.
Rez groups should try and keep up, NAME your rezed target, rez him once, move on, Don't WAIT for them to get up, you'll just waist other dead peoples time and your own mp. Wait for them to call out again if they are still dead or something happened.
Try and use Mass REZ when it is approperaite. It's quite handy.
excellent ... thanks for that. not the next part is getting everyone together for the fight...well 2-3 fights actually. cause we when go to the port spot i'm sure there's going to be raid farmers and other around. and what is the respawn on him anyway...i heard 7 days and a few hours? also if i put a scout inside the lair, and i just die and then log out, will i respawn inside to see if he's there or not? or will i have to redo the quest to get another portal stone to go see if he's there?
I hope you don't mean raid farmers at Antharas' Lair. The farmers don't farm Antharas. He's too friggin hard. And if you're talking about another boss on the way to the Lair, don't sweat it; the respawn time on raid bosses means that the farmers will only be there for a brief moment and then be gone for quite some time.
ok well...if it isn't the raid farmers (which we are at war with, cause screw those guys) there is another clan/ally that always kills him...everyweek...it's annoying, no one else on the server can even have a chance to kill him. but like i said, if we have 100+ people, we should be able to kill them and then port into the dragon. another question. if our groups port in, can anyone else just port in? and say come kill us while we are killing him? and agian, what is the spawn time? was i right? 7 days and a few hours?

aren't you on kain?(if you are, I'd like to pratisite if I could, I've never done him, and I could bring my SE to help regen your nukers)
well it is something like 7 days and some odd hours, but would beable to expect to see him after server restarts to. and NPC server restarts.
And no from what I hear, only the group thats raiding him can enter, once they are all inside and antharas is woken up, no one else can enter.
If your group is runing in from the enterance of DVC to the lair, I'd suggust sending in a full party of archers to clear the way, A full archer party with cat will clear karif's in seconds!!

From my limited experience, you can't do that. Sure Anthy may hate archers a bit more then other classes so they can try to kite him a little bit (but he will catch up fast anyway), but you CAN'T make him switch aggro. Once he has someone targeted, he is sure to make at least one attack against that someone (which usually means that person dies). And archers cannot reliably keep aggro on themselves. Anthy just seems to target a random person inside the cave, even on the other end, which hasen't even attacked and never came close (like a buffer) and then come charging, ignoring all attacks other toons do.
Once you get inside the lair, there is a "30 minute timer" ( not sure of the exact time, but its around that ) in which people can port in, because antharas hasent spawned yet.
After he spawns, however, no one can port in.
Beware however for enemy people porting in their bishop, and logging them out.
Then when they are told on vent anthars is at 50% hp or whatever, they login and use restore life and BOEM +25% to antharas. Thats alot more deaths.
At last but not least, if you finally decide to face the holly beast ..... dont forget to establish a party with crystals lvl10 and or lvl11 in their inventory (every one can carry only 1 crystal). This party must have the last hits to lvl up the crystals ;)
if you log out inside his room, you have 5 minutes to log in or your ported to giran, and when the first person ports in, the timer starts. 20-30 minutes after first person is inside he will spawn, then noone else can enter.
key to beating him is this, be dedicated and don't worry about your xp, At lv 76 i died 6-7 times, deleveled but gained 4.5m xp when we beat him, came out ++ xp
thanks all for the info, but it seems a lot harder to organize that many people when we all span from the west to the east coast, from canada to flordia. It ain't easy :)
