Well i would have to say Maj because it has more P.def then the talum heavy.
But Maj is ganna cost you a [censored] more then any talum set would cost you, on Lionna a talum helm is around 80-100 million and a majestic helmet is anywhere between 200-280 million.
Yeah there has been a rise in Tallum prices, though it depends on your server...
On Bartz as of a few days ago, a Tallum set costs nearly as much as any other set, the helms going for around 120-150 for any set. So poor or rich there around the same.
IF you can, hunt the Scavenger Ants, Scavenger Beetles, and the other ant/beetle in Shrine of the Loyal. The room just off the Shrine Knights room is where I was soloing the TWO times the Tallum Helmet came as a full drop! Those mobs also dropped the DC Breastplate, which was a shocker.
I was at it a few hours both times, but I don't recall exactly how long. Those mobs are also easy enough to kill (they are part of the lvl76 3rd class change) but you can beat them up if your 65+.
Also agree with the other posts, Tallum prices are ridiculous now.

The 8% Speed on the set makes a big diffrence. I think you'll enjoy it with the constant Haste2/Vr buffs (and with a bd, its just nuts). If you ever decide to come off crit duals, Dual Kesh is another 8% attack speed as well.

Can you please provide more detail on where this is located? Your sub is SH... Can a 7x SH solo these mobs? I need to get a Tallum helm and don't want to pay 100M+ for it or go after it with blueprints...
Tallum Plate Armor also went up in price :( I was wanting sets for my dwarves, but its just beyond my pricerange now :(
I crafted my Tallum set, but I bought the recipes back in C3 when everyone was going nuts over Maj and Nightmare, and kicking Tallum to the curb like a red-headed stepchild. You can still get some of the plate recipes for under 20M on Devianne. But even that is going up.

I've soloed there (with an SE for buffs and acumen pots) since about 65.
On the map, you'll see an area called Wall of Argos. Within WOA is a place called Shrine of the Loyal. It is where anyone doing the 3rd class change quest must go and kill 700 mobs.

Coming from a fellow Battle Prophet, my suggestion is Tallum over Majestic. I produced greater damage output with BW than Maj and I found OE'ing BW heavy was a cheaper option for nearly the same p.def once you get all 5 pieces +4. I'm actually working on building a +6 BW heavy set for C5 but blow about 17 gloves and counting atm, 7 of them going +6. >< Right now I have +6 boots, +5 gloves and the rest +4 and I have 18 p.def difference when I switch between a borrowed Maj. set and my BW set. Might be something to consider.
Back to the topic at hand, Tallum is far cheaper than Majestic and I feel the attack speed makes up for the p.atk reduction going from BW to Tallum to compensate for the change in DPS. I've also discovered I can regen 5.2k MP in Tallum Robes with -4 Men within 20 mins of sitting down. This was to my surprise as I surmised my MP regen rate would nose dive since the Tallum has no inherient MP regen bonus like Maj/BW.
All in all, I'm very pleased with both Tallum robe and heavy set. I plan on subbing as a SwS so I feel the Tallum set is a good investment for the future of my character as well.
Also, I would definitely recommend the use of dual Kesh swords. Since they removed duals from the accuracy and cast speed nerf planned for C5 when equipped on a mystic class, they are for the foreseeable future a great way to put down good numbers from a prophet. I've used 1 set for a short time as they were borrow and had a blast with how much damage I was able to produce. Granted they were +9 (1200+ p.atk on a Prophet is just wrong...), but I felt the attack speed bonus was put to good use to compensate for low base dex.
