How high can a Destroyer level solo with polearm?

I am considering subbing Destroyer. I will certainly be able to keep top gear up to at least level 61. I will also always have SE buffs with at least VR3 [and a good chance that my SE will get to level 72 hence VR4 by the time I sub].

Now I have leveled a Dwarf using polearm and it was very fast up to level 56. But I stopped since I decided I had to keep focus on my SH. It seems that Destroyers are significantly more effective at polearming when compared to Dwarves (Vicious Stance, Accuracy, higher Patk, Rage and even more in C5). To test it out, I created an orc to see how well they solo polearm and it was frighteningly awesome! I got an Orc fighter to level 32 in less than 10 hours. Rage and vicious stance make a huge difference.

I am curious about a few things:

1> To what level can you effectively polearm solo as a Destroyer with top gear? I would assume it is at least up to level 65 by fighting up to level 60 mobs in the catacombs.

2> What combo of tattoos would you choose to level fastest as an Orc Destroyer? I would assume STR+4 and DEX+4 with CON-8. What would make a good third tattoo? I noticed a screenshot of a Korean Titan at level 79 and they had a WIT+4 tattoo of all things. What does WIT do for a fighter? Does it effect skill reuse time for melee skills? I thought that would be based on attack speed hence DEX?

3> As a spellhowler the grind from level 71 up is tedious but manageable. How will it be for a Destroyer? Is it essential to party or can you still solo those last few levels?

4> What would be the best armor / weapon setup for fast XP as a polearm for 61 and up? I am thinking it would be Tallum Heavy and Halberd with Crit Stun.

Thanks in advance... Dreaming about subbing is the only thing that keeps me going right now
well i dont really know and im still learning men wit and int but wit i believe actually gives you more mp, and affects things like how fast you regen it, which would make sense for vicious stance beacuse that continuosly consumes mp thus you would have more for longer and you would get it back faster when u ran out :p

...but wit i believe actually gives you more mp, and affects things like how fast you regen it

MEN effects total MP and MP regen rate. I believe WIT only affects spell casting speed and not fighter skills. The Titan I referred to had +WIT / -MEN tattoos.
>>Titan I referred to had +WIT / -MEN tattoos.
On the sub?
Because fighters can touch MEN stat.

Hmm. It was +WIT for sure, but may have been -INT.
yes -5int +4wit is nice sleep/root resist pre c5. useless (100%) in c5. but solo if you mean no buffs is no way for destroyer.

noo....im pretty sure wit wouldn't be casting speed cuz elves have high int and men for high casting speed and they dont exactly have tons of mp....if i am correct then int is dmg spells do, men is casting speed and such, and wit is amount of mp and such....
dont embarass yourself-silly-self:

int - mattack, debuffs cance to land
wit - casting speed, resistence to hold/sleep, magic crit prob
men - mdef, mp regen, motal mp...
alrighty then my mistake...though to me that doesnt make sense given that elves are supposed to be known for the their fast casting speed so i would have imagined that explained the high men...
Elves have the highest Wit... orcs have the higest Men (42) and they are not exactly fast casters.

Just because light elves have high MEN and high Casting Speed, doesn't mean that we can assume MEN is responsible for the fast Casting Speed.

Light Elf Mystic has the highest DEX when compared to Dark Elf mystic and Human mystic. Does that mean we can assume DEX gives you faster casting speed? We can't make that assumption. And, as it happens, if you did make that assumption, you would be making an incorrect assumption, since it is well known that DEX does not impact casting speed.

If you compare the base STATS for Human Mystic, Light Elf Mystic, and Dark Elf Mystic, you'll see that Light Elf has the highest WIT amongst that group. We cannot assume that this makes WIT responsible for casting speed. However, it is well known and well tested that WIT is the stat which drives casting speed. Based on this well-known fact, we should expect to find that Light Elves have the highest WIT of the three races -- and we should be satisfied when we do find this to be true.

Interestingly enough, light elves also have the highest MEN of any other "true healer" (LE, DE, and Human) race. This means that not only do Light Elves cast fastest, they also have more mana and regenerate mana more quickly. Of course Light Elves lack greater group heal, VR, empower, and have low INT, which has a measurable impact on the power of their heals when compared to higher INT healers such as SE.

You can compare the stats of the three "true" healing races in my handy table below:

Code:

DE HMN LE Best
INT 44 41 37 SE
STR 23 22 21 SE
CON 24 27 25 HU
MEN 37 39 40 EE
DEX 23 21 24 EE
WIT 19 20 23 EE

i have +WIT on my destroyer, reason being that WIT helps resist sleep. this will change to MEN in C5. also, fighters can change MEN stat, but they can only change it for the worse (-MEN) not the better (+MEN). i dont use polarms because of personal preference.

you sure we can't change it for better? I mean its not like fighters are morons or something.... but are sure we can change it for better than just worst?

This thread got completely hijacked. Other than the effect of Int/Men/Wit (which has been discussed in countless threads...) Do people have any input on the destroyer class and the OP's questions?

Just curious :p
I'm not destroyer myself (I have just a raider toon), I can't say for solo experience in high levels.
Nevertheless I've not seen effective solo exping for destroyers with polearms other than in groups. I mean, you need 2-3 healers for 70+ pole groups.
Most mobs of 60+ levels have phisycal resistance. It reduces both overall damage of your character and hit points through VR. So with higher levels you'll generally need more healers. And I bet at 70 level you won't be comfortable with polearm and just one SE behind you (even if he will heal you, not only buff).

Few destroyers in my clan use two-handed swords. They were die-hard polearmers in the past, but now they mostly rely on normal melee groups.

I've seen warlord soloing in his 60 on blue mobs. I've been duoing with warlord at my 60-es and it took all my mana to heal him. So... you better find a fellow healer to duo with you. Or few healers.

On the other side, a single polearmer with 3 healers can camp that big room before Kariks in Lair.

As for tatoos, you'll be quite happy with +STR, but +dex won't make much difference, in fact.
would the same apply to warlords at to destroyers? like will i be able to solo? i have a boxed SO with me now, so will that be enough to get me through my 40's?
