Q&A with the Development Team

General Discussion Started Last reply 94 posts
If you could ask the development team one question, what would it be?

We want to hear your question for the Lineage II development team! Your question can be about the game in general, design, what's coming in Chronicle 5, or about the team themselves. We will send some of the best questions to the team for a Q&A to be published on the official Lineage II web site.

Please use this opportunity to ask a question, not make a suggestion. And above all, please keep your question constructive. Any hostile, insulting, or inflammatory questions will not be considered and will be removed from the thread. (If I see one question asking about drugs being smoked... *shakes fist*)

Thanks everyone! This thread will remain open until 12:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, July 12.
what to ask ....

well i want to know how they determine what needs nerfing and what gets nerfing and why it gets nerfing because it seems the North American Players are crying about so many seemingly unnecessary nerfs which now include the healing abilities of the best healer (arguably) in the game. it affects all the healers but now all are on the same playingfield - apart from buffs C5 makes it useless to distinguish which healers are better for what and where, i mean why should i bring a bishop to a group when i can bring an SE or EE and get the same heals (dont tell me GBH is better then all because it cleaerly has the same HoT as GH and GGH so ther is no distinction) ?

thats my one question, it affects me more than whatever Nuker and archer complaints youll no doubt get.
Two questions, feel free to pick one if I can only submit a single question for some reason.

1. Are there any plans to create epic events that are more than additions to the grind or scavenger hunts? For example, when I first played UO they had an event in which monsters took over several towns. Shops closed and it disrupted the normal gameplay of players and forced them to band together to drive the intruders out. I think something that transforms the normal gameplay of L2 for a short time would be a fun addition.

2. Are there any plans to curb the inflation that L2 has seen over the past two years, or is NC maintaining a 'hands off' policy to the market? Basic material prices have been steadily rising since the game began, and the prices of certain items on certain servers have become outrageous and almost unattainable to the normal player.
"in chronicle 5, will it be more likely for a bounty hunter (warrior type class) to beat a dark avenger (tank type class), or for a elven elder (defensive mage) to beat a spell howler (offensive mage) in a standard olympiad tournament, and why?"
1. Does NA Lineage 2 dev team ever plan on giving the NA version exclusive content in regards to new skills and ideas suggested in the suggestion section of the forum?
I what way do you propose to eliviate the grind from the repetative system that is currently in the game? I know there is more solo fields within C5 with the instant buff pots and all, but are there any other ways that you are looking in to the make the "grind" less repetative?
1) Will NA NCSoft takes step to customise the game to suit International audiences?

I feel that NA NCSoft has not done enough to review and revamp the game play enough to tries make this game more enjoyable to all.

Firstly the events are poorly executed. The impression I get is that NA NCSoft has churn out events for the sake of meeting quotas. Nowsaday the events I see are all default recycle ones with little rewards and fun. The FireWorks Event that is currently going on is one such good example of a poor executed events.

I am from Asian and when I see the event and the drop rate. I was like thinking "O come on, it is held during the American Independant Day, surely NA NCSoft can do better than this." Not to mention the droprate for event items is low. I want to blow some fireworks but 2-3 hours of grinding only get me less than 10 event items. *eyes roll*

On top of that, NA NCSoft has shown very little involvement in the game to make it entertaining. What seems to work in C1-C2 does not neccessary means the non-interference policy will continue to work in later chronicles.

Quests reward, mats drop, Manor Systems and NPC items are just some of the many things NA NCSoft should look into. We were promised more involvement when HGSpam comes in, but I can barely finish counting with my toes and fingers to see pple like HGSpam making any reply even in forums.

NA NCSoft allows the game to run amok which I feel is a big bad mistake in the name of freedom. Gamers are steering towards casual gamings. Dun get me wrong there should not be any hardcore game play. But then to do nothing about the in-game economy and game play and then plainly states ur non-interference policy will not help the gamers at large.

I dun think I am asking too much for NA NCSoft to spend time tweaking the game. Cause it has already proven in the past that it is within NA NCSoft capabilities to tweak the game play such as droprate, items that NPC is selling, etc in a very short amount of time. Therefore I feel NA NCSoft has no excuse.

Lastly what I want to say is this:

Hey NA NCSoft, I WANT TO SPEND MORE MONEY ON U AND ON THE GREAT GAME U HAVE THERE. AT THE VERY LEAST TAKE UR HAND OUT OF UR POCKET AND RECEIVE IT!#@$~@%$#^
In a similar vein to the question above (but more specific as to content), I'd like to ask whether the other content in this game is ever going to greater localization options. Examples would be:

Locally configurable manor. Multiple resets per day, customizable seed and buyback amounts or removal of buyback limit.

Raid boss spawn times can be set per server (and not "hard-coded" into game) changed "on the fly".

I believe greater localization could be used to address some issues many servers are experincing.

And if I could sneak one more question in it would be:

It has been stated in chronicle releases that it will be made easier for players to solo. I haven't seen much evidence of this in terms of some key elements, e.g. subclass. Do you plan to make these sorts of elements easier for the solo/small party player?
THANK YOU!!!

It's about time!

Here are some questions, take what you want and eat what you take!:

1, Does the development team follow a greater plan and form for the game reaching all the way to the last chronicle (C12 I imagine) which they then tweak as the game progresses from chronicle to chronicle or is each chronicle created only in response to what has gone before and somewhat improvised within a light framework of what the game is trying to achieve (so no clear idea of what the end will be) (sorry for the over long sentence).

2, Are there any plans to introduce any content that significantly expands and even alters the gameplay and does not rely on more grinding or mini-games that don't seem to resonate with the North American/Euro playerbase (might be me but I know of no one who ever says "I can't group with you tonight as I need to spend time fishing, playing monster track, betting on the lottery).

3, Are there any plans to revisit the sieging system in order to "fine tune" it or introduce systems that keep it a desirable and highly sought after goal. As it stands now, on my server, sieges seem to be a bit dead and even when people sign up, sometimes they just don't bother to show up.

4, Are there significant differences between how the Korean playerbase plays the game and the North American/European playerbase? And if so, does the development team foresee a time where they might alter the game to better suit each customer?

5, Is the development team cognizant of the fact that many formerly great areas are now ghost towns (Cruma, Ruins of Despair, etc) and are there any plans to revitilize these original game areas so that they can be something other than empty unused real estate.

I have more but I suppose I'll leave them for other people to ask.
Why isn't there a cure for Flame dots? A couple of the mobs in the Valley of Saints use a level 7 flame dot, it does 2-3x the damage of a level 9 poison or bleed from the mobs in the Forest of the Dead.

I find it odd that a level 7 dot is so much stronger than a level 9 dot. Even more so considering that a level 9 Poison or Bleed can be cured, while the far more damaging Flame dot can not be cured.
Q: Is there anything being done to help solve the archers damage in relation to Criticals? If so what is there?

Q: Why was it necessary for the L2 dev team to boost archers in Chronicle 5?
1. When, for the love of jeebus, will Dwarves get PVE and PVP skills that are worthwhile? We have been nerfed hard with craft shops and common craft. We have been given spoil festival, yet no sweep festival.

Dwarves need to be brought back to what the race was intended for. Crafting and gathering materials.
my question is...

what is the point of the NA development team if everything we have is the same as the koreans? Can the NA development team actually do something that is praised the the Korean team first as far as gameplay, not events.
This is a question off of her question.

1# When will dwarfs get some form of active attacking skill. Currently dwarfs between the level of 1-19 have no attacking skill as all other races have one.
I'll let everyone else as the hard questions. Mine is for pet lovers!

Question: Will trainable pets - specifically striders and wolves - eventually have more of a role in Lineage 2 rather than the general "for fun" attitude? For example, Noblesse can give their striders a siege attack. It would be nice to see more powerful overall attack abilities for striders/wolves, and also see them wearing their armor. Not everyone can own a clan hall or castle and make a wyvern.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer some of our questions. I love this game! :)
To pick and choose the many fraudulent features that we have and sum it up with ONE question is a bit difficult thing to ask.

Many have asked about various things, like why dwarven skills haven't been given(sweep festival any one?), or mannor system, or Why nukers are still over powered.

I've been playing since C1, and since then I've seen two slots one for undergarments and one for capes.

I'd like to know if by the time we get C6 that we'll see better customizing and effects like helmets, capes, underwear/swimwear, weather...and if this is planed for future chronicles?(this is my question)

my question is...

what is the point of the NA development team if everything we have is the same as the koreans? Can the NA development team actually do something that is praised the the Korean team first as far as gameplay, not events.

Hell I can answer this one. There is no NA Development team for Lineage 2. Maybe some people here should do some research before even opening their mouth to ask a question...geebus.

Here are a couple of my question to tack on:

1. What is NCSOFT doing to combat the dramatic loss of subscribers to this game across the world? Do they have a master plan to counter this and what would that be?

2. In the chronicles to come, what is the vision of how this game will be shaped? Meaning, the game engine is outdated. What do you envision adding to this game to revitalize upon what already has been introduced? To further elaborate, will it be the same old stuff thats coming int he upcomming chronicles in reference to more land, more itemization, more the same old stuff or will there be something specifically new and grand that we have not heard about coming down the pipes to take this game to the next level?

3. So far a lot of this game has been PvP centered and the content has been geared toward that end. Will development focus more on the PvE aspects as well as the story of Lineage 2 in future chronicles? Such as Factioning, Mob migration system, chaos engine, interactive story driven content..etc...

4. What is up with the limited amount of pets in this game? Do people not co-exist with animals in this world? why not flying and more unique magical items? I mean items that have a magical effect on them that are common throughout most mmorpgs out there? Why do you guys in Korea lack for creativity?

Thats all for now!
Q1: I suppose you will post answers to the questions that are posted here?

Q2: About when might that happen?

Q3: Trying to keep this question from being "hostile", but, What has happened between the Events and Event loot of Last year and This year?

Q4: Any plans on fixing it(Event Loot drops)? Eg: Halloween is coming up pretty soon, are the Pumpkins coming back as well? Same as they were last year or will they be dropping more Fireworks this year too?

Q5: Any plans on Fixing the Drop/Spoil rates just a bit?

Q6: What's the point of Dwarfs in this game?

Q7: Any plans to make crystals lvl 11-13 slightly easier to obtain? (Possible Event prize maybe?)

Q8: Any plans on adding things like Helmets with visual impact on the character(maybe with a toggle to either show or not show the Helmet to the public)?
Q1: Is there anything planned to nerf the incredible damage fully buffed archers do on their crit rate 500 crits? There are a lot of buffs against nuker damage (resist and mdef buffs), but against archer damage, only pdef and shields help, and not everybody has those.

Q2: What is the role the developers intended for high lvl (75+) Shillien Elders/Saints? All their previously unique buffs were handed out to other buffers, and now in C5 they nerfed the heals, while at the same time handing out nice new skills to the other healer/buffer classes (SE only gets mana burn and resist holy). Is the role of the SE really only to be a recharger, which the EE now can do far better also due to clarity and prophecy of water?
is the lineage 2 population rising, or declining.
Is there an official word on how many chronicles are planned for L2?

With L1 hitting the 5yr mark what does the future hold time wise for L2 with L3 in the works (rumors of info due out 2007 on L3)?
What happened To the events this year, and why did they get the 100% nerf-hammer. And i mean they got NERFED.
i recind my earlier question. "tell me, what mob in C4 (and C5) spoils rec: half plate armor."
1: When/If will the manor system be more easy to use? trying to click at one perticular secound is just stupid ...

2: Why dont you change the banning methods of bots as that pretty much suck as it is now.
Here's my question :
Do you plan on doing something with this laughable economy ? :p
Q: When you develop new chronicles, do you consider casual players as a useful part of the in-game community, or as a nuisance?
The simple form of my question is as follows:

What plans do you have to cultivate the relationship with the North American players?

To elaborate:

What would you be interested in establishing to overcome the language and geographical seperation between the Korean foundation and the extention to North America/Europe to better your relationship with us in molding the English release of Chronicles?
Let me be blunt:

Any question there is out there is most likely been harshed and rehashed in the "Game Suggestion" thread.

So here is my question: does the development team know the thread is on this board-server? and if so why do they not read it?
I am not sure if I can ask this but here goes:

Will GameGuard be reconsidered?
I am of the opinion that this add-on has failed bigtime.
A couple of questions

1) Are the new pets, i.e. the baby cougar, baby buffalo, and the baby bird thing, going to do something for us? As it is even a lvl 80 pet does heal you for much of anything. Will there be a quest to change them into the large pets you can get at the Beast Farm?

2) Will C5 be able to support the new intel chips?

3) When will C5 PTS be up and running?

4) Why are true summoners being nerfed so hard in C5? It's not like they are so overpowered. I understand the Erase skill working against partial summoners like the necro.

5)Is there any plans to make a new class of toons? Maybe a Druid race or a mechanical race, just some ideas off the top of my head.

6) This isn't a question but more of a request. Can the NA team help center the NA L2 more towards NA/Euro game play style? We dont like to grind for hours on end for little or no reward. I'm not talking exp but drops or quests items.

7) Does the NA team need to detrime what the Normal player for NA/Euro is? Since the "normal player" can not get the items together to craft even the lowest of D grade once they get to lvl 30.

8) Is this guy going to stop asking questions???? A) yes i am through now. I might ask more no one asks them before the 12th. Be safe.
Whens the next time the GMs will log on? just curious, but i never see them
oh ya, are they going to add Halflings in like chronicle 6 or 7? cuz they should
Have they thought of reusing the code that spawns the newbie area guards, (pixies, town guards, tress) to also spawn a few mobs? Seeing the occasional elpy or keltair wandering around the other wise 'dead' areas of the game would be nice. ^^ That code would also let you spawn a few select mobs in every teritory on the map, you would find elpys in the beast farm, wolves wander the forest of Dead, keltars around Aden...

Whens the next time the GMs will log on? just curious, but i never see them

Spam answered that one, awhile ago the GM's got an upgrade. That upgrade broke the /gmlist command. A fix is being worked on.
Any chance we will see the Arteias?

From the Myths and history section:

"Sayha instilled the spirit of wind into the fourth form. This is how the race of arteias were formed."
Oh, another question:

Q) Since the game is aging rather quick, any considerations to "Re-Polish" some of it?

Oh, another question:

I've been wandering about that my self, I'd like to know if they plan to go back and rework some of the old play areas, like DVC/DV, CT, FT, ants nest, wastelands, just rework the old play zones.

I'd like to know if they'd go back and rework the old prelude/C1 /C2 quest for 30 to lvl 1. as it stands the quest are too repeditive, too long. you out lvl the quest before your 20% done with it now. and the rewords suck and are completely out dated for the game play as it is now.

I'd specailly like to know if they plan to rework the second class transfer quest. they are way too long and cost too much for new players just starting out with no money.
- What means National Wars in terms of gameplay ? And when you plan to introduce them ?

- There are still issues for the implementation of capes ?

- How many devs are now working for Lineage II ?

- Do you thought about changing the anti-cheat detection with something more effective ?
Are there any plans to revamp the rec system?

No one takes it seriously, and since its conception it has served as little more than a buff currency. It also effectively shut down the 'buff shops' that once existed. As of now it serves little more than a measure of popularity and a tool for scammers, and without some serious design changes will remain as such.
Here is one that hasn't been asked yet.

1. Are there any plans for an all out advertisement campain to get new players. Seems like everything before Giran is dying a slow death.

2. Is there any real hope in seeing professional players being removed from the game ie... raid farmers and 24/7 parties all over the game.
I may have more questions later but this one comes to mind.

Are there plans on reducing the percent xp loss on death at higher levels? Especially at the 70+ levels.
When will you efficiently reinforce your policy against cheaters?
I sincerely think this game is losing all its good sides due to cheaters (bots, farmers, ebayers) and that the far future of L2 would be a lot more shiny with only legit players.
I'm afraid it's just a dream.
does the dev team hate dwarfs?
do they think their skills are acceptable and why
Are you going to add the most important thing for an mmo for l2?

Character look, armor, weapons(unique items, that drop very rare, not like now,all can have it if you got the cash) and more unique accesories.

Also, have you ever concidered changing some data or the cheat system to actually detect something.Or add more gms for regular checks.Tired of seeing 3rd party software users deleveling in starter towns, there are more of them than regular players.

Thank you!
We have had alot of talks about new servers and server transfers E.G over populated server, severly under populated servers and only 1 European server!

What is the Development team doing about that area and what possible ideas have a chance of being put into use?
Actually, the 7 Signs system is bad implemented, any chance we will see some changes in the future to create a true competition between Dawn and Dusk?
I'm just wondering why you guys always have to send off the files to Korean HQ for them to fix the bugs, it's easy to fix this stuff yourself. I can understand when they add new stuff to the game itself but some bugs are so easy to fix you don't need the main HQ to fix it.
Another question:
Any chance we will see some changes in BSoe? Its just Wrong that people can use it on PVP in a PVP Based Game.

And any chance that we will ever see a NA Development Team? Just to make some minor changes according to what NA Players Want.
There definitely should be another European Server

Another question:
Any chance we will see some changes in BSoe? Its just Wrong that people can use it on PVP in a PVP Based Game.

Okay, I don't get this. Why is it wrong? Is it because you don't get a PvP point? If someone BSoE's from you in a fight, you've won. How does it change anything? No one ever explains this.
Since the commerce of virtual items for real money is rampant and inevitable, do you plan to make it official? Is Exteel an experiment towards that?

Another question:
Any chance we will see some changes in BSoe? Its just Wrong that people can use it on PVP in a PVP Based Game.

This question u made is off topic.
But if u want a PVP where no one lose nothing, go play wow.
I Wanna kill people and make then loose XP, and if i kill a red, i want him to drop his equipments.
If u dont like that, go play wow or any of those other mmos where people just die and lose nothing.
When will dwarves finally see some dev loving? At this point just about everything unique to the dwarves has been taken away and given to the rest of the server population. So when do the dwarves get a boost?
I love how Mistryl said ONE question and people show up with 5.

Very good way of making it boring for the GM's to read the thread.

My question is solely: Are you planning on implenting a new server before or shortly after c5 is launched? And 2 co-questions to work it. Will it be european and will it be relaxed?

Yes that was 3 questions but it was about 1 thing. New server.
Greetings,

please keep your question constructive.

My question would be : Do you have any plans to implement AFK automated messages ?

man afk

/afk [message]

AFK means away from keyboard. Sometime you sell, someimtes you sleep, sometimes you are a clan leader.

So what say you ?

Plain Question:
Are there, and if what are, the future plans for the Lineage 2 Game Client?

Detailed Question:
Will GameGuard maybe become a selectable AddOn; Since C4 parts of the chatwindow can be arranged, can the whole chatwindow and/or the systemmassagewindow be moveable; Can textcolors be customized; Will there be customized sounds for skills; Will the UI be modable/get different selectable skins;
1.) What do you attend to do with the cost of gear and supplies? If anything?
When will NCSoft Korea cut the strings and let the NA development team localize the game?

Examples

New clan system in c5 isnt designed well for NA 120 people per clan? 360 people per alliance There are hardly that many people in 12 clan alliances and only maybe 3 - 4 40 member clans per alliance right now.

Spoil and drop rates are insanely low for NA market.

Classes popular here are far different then in Korea and skills and pvp should reflect that.

NA has a different mindset compared to korea we focus our gameplay around pvp where korea is around pve or orgainzed pvp.

We like the chaos we like running into a fight not knowing if we will win or not and not knowing what numbers the other side has etc. Lowering xp deaths for PvP would be a big step in the right direction.

4% per death at 40 and still 4% deaths at 78 is utterly ******ed and bad game design.

4% at 40 isnt even .10% at 78.
-- Will exisisting buffs get added on to in the near future? (i.e. ww2 to WW3 or haste2 to Haste3)
-- When will Oren get snow?! *Played Lin1 :P *
-- Will weather effects ever be implemented?
Any plans on adding 3rd buff bar?
This is a question of all seriousness.

I just watched a Kain pvp video, and i saw the Archer in that video crit people over 50% of the time he shot, id say around 80% of the time, for over 4k damage, 7k ish on robes.

How can you, the development team, NOT see this, and NOT know that this is 100% over-powered beyond BELIEF. There was a BD smacking away at this archer for 15 seconds, and all the guy had to do was use 5 cp pots and boom all damage negated.

then he turned his attension to the BD and 2-shot him, his first shot wasnt a crit, then he hit for 5k damage.
Ncsoft has a funny way of balancing. They nerf a class too much in their opinion when they actually balanced it. (Daggers c1>c2>c4) now they are gonna overpower it again (c4>c5).

Mages are getting some of the shaft but not much, something still needs to be done about the effects of slow and some way of repelling it at least. As it is now mages can nuke at you from 5 meters away cause they're so confident. Even a melee can't kill a nuker in melee. That's [censored]. They are supposed to stand far back and dish out that dmg. And if anything with a big axe or sword gets close their supposed to go down on their knees and open their mouths.

Archers deal waaaaaaaay too much damage as it is. They are supposed to be a hybrid of damage and survival techniques. Their survival is fairly good. But their damage needs to be cut by 25% at least.

The melee classes needs some sort of boost. You hardly ever see melee in sieges and such.. And for the LOVE of god please put siege back so it doesn't work to go through walls. NOBODOY uses the bridge anymore. That is like.. the only thing that made sieges interesting. And perhaps make it so castles automatically turn back to NPC after the 2 weeks are finished for the clan who held it. That would really make things interesting instead of alliances holding castles for months because nobody dares to siege them. IF it turns NPC enemy clans can at least come and try to keep them from taking it. Creating a chaos 3 sided fight which is a real siege imo.
Currently, you can't continue with all quests when you have over 80% inventory space. This was a 'fix' that was added way back to solve the problem with a few quests that would give you quest items. Is it possible to apply this fix only to the feq quests that need it, instead of all quests?
Just thought of some more questions...

1. Does NCSOFT in Korea or the Devs know if they are planning to release a movie/anime series of Lineage? If they are what would be the timeline to expect something to be availabe for the public?

2. Will any regions outside of Korea ever get Lineage merchandise like L2 figurines that we have seen floating around?

3. Are there any plans to put a permanent sort of liason between the Devs in Korea and other countries that have Lineage 2; in that we can have more access to ask the developers questions such as we are doing now?
I'm not a developer, but I can answer this one.

2. Will any regions outside of Korea ever get Lineage merchandise like L2 figurines that we have seen floating around?

Japan is heavy on Lineage II merchandise - both artbooks appeared in Japanese, and I would be very surprised if there was no other related merchandise. Just as with anime things, though, it is unlikely that anything will ever make it across to NA or Europe.

My question to the devs, I'm sure someone asked before, but I didn't read the whole thread, so here it is:

"What were you thinking? How is this game 'meant' to be played? Were you really expecting RMT to happen, or did you aim at a slower development with much less higher level gear and more player cooperation?"

This is a question of all seriousness.

I just watched a Kain pvp video, and i saw the Archer in that video crit people over 50% of the time he shot, id say around 80% of the time, for over 4k damage, 7k ish on robes.

I quote from a translation of the c5 pvp preview/review:

"Archers are a magnificently powerful PvP class.
Consequently, for PvP, something has to be added."

That is what NCSoft thinks about the current situation.

What about Dwarves? (http://boards.lineage2.com/showflat.php?Number=585699)

exactly... if you didn't see it (who could it be ?.. this is the longest thread ever), there's one thread in the C5 sub-forum with one sole question:
What about dwarves !!?
Every non-botted dwarf here playing a dwarf as a main thinks there is a BIG problem...

So... question is:
Will the dev team do something for real dwarves (played as a main char and by an active player) according to our comments, or just assume dwarves are fine because the dwarven population seems good (yay ! bots and level1 afk shops are 99% of the dwarven player base) ?
I don't speak korean so I couldnt ask them anything =/

Maybe ask again when we have a US development team?

If you could ask the development team one question, what would it be?

Mine would be:

If i offer NCSoft a (server-sided) program that detects and logs people that login with illegal clients and it proves that this program does work as intented. Would NCSoft use it and ban everybody that is found to use them?
I would like to know why all the stuffs made in our L2, has first to go to the Korea Devs, look, it's ok with that, i'm not blamming about it, it's because we are in need for local devs here, you know, what is good for a Korean player may not be good to a NA player and vice-versa. All I ask is, why not to put a local team of devs in NA to make changes in L2 for the NA market?

Sorry for my "not so good" english ^^
There are several items in the game for which there are recipes, but no materials, so the items cannot be made (examples are the demon stockings, top, boots and gloves). Is this deliberate? And if so, why have a recipe available for an item that cannot be crafted?

I would like to know why all the stuffs made in our L2, has first to go to the Korea Devs, look, it's ok with that, i'm not blamming about it, it's because we are in need for local devs here, you know, what is good for a Korean player may not be good to a NA player and vice-versa. cause the original developers are korean, its like a franchise, the franchise owner can make certain changes to his francise assuming it works within the guidelines of the parent company owners.

NCsoftNA isn't the parent company rather than a local branch of the mother corporation which they have the designers , all the rights, progammers, artists etc.

It also has alot to do with the shareholders of the corporation who control a portion of the company and what they say.
Ok, here it goes.

The game seems to be balanced, pvp wise, only for PVE or Olympiad situations. That may work well for Korean public, but the NA player base do not seem to be happy about that. We seem to PVP a lot more on "open field", "gank party" and things alike. Thus, some classes are just so powerful to be true, and some are just so underpowered it hurts. Will there ever be any kinda of real balance? In some way a meelee does not die before he/she reach the full buffed nuker?

or, if you want to take it this way
Why is the necro so overpowered?

Ok, here it goes.

The game seems to be balanced, pvp wise, only for PVE or Olympiad situations. That may work well for Korean public, but the NA player base do not seem to be happy about that. We seem to PVP a lot more on "open field", "gank party" and things alike. Thus, some classes are just so powerful to be true, and some are just so underpowered it hurts. If self buffed pvp is so balanced in this patch, but open field pvp isn't, the question you are trying to ask is "why?"

What's the difference? Buffed dd classes. Buffs are overpowered in L2. Make empower add 100 matk. Make might add 100 patk. Make all buffs exact increases not % o.o

He meant pAtk. 99.9% of the people reading his post would figure that out.
Ooops fixed. Sorry 40 hrs no sleep T.T

I want to hear it from the devs. Or you going to say melee arent screwed?
1) How is NCSoft going to stop Aion (and other new MMORPG's) from cannabalizing Lineage 2?

2) Lineage 2 is advertised as a PvP game. Why is the game designed in such a way as to strongly discourage PvP (high xp loss, etc) without any reward? Even on battlefields, each death at high levels is hours of mindless grinding. Will this be changed?
1. How do you conquer the language barriers between Korea and North America?

2. Korea has a lot of events that are given to North America later. Is it difficult to transfer these?

This thread will remain open until 12:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, July 12.

my question for the team is: when will those of us who actually work dwarves as main characters will be able to function properly and correctly? and then allow those Bounty Hunters and Warsmiths to be able to accurately and consistently do that work which they were designed and created to do? we (dwarves) are being consistently denegrated for following our 'natures' of crafting and looting that which others are not 'supposed' to be able to access. i may make a poor archer, but that doesn't mean i will say that 'archers are "cowards who fight from cover"' that is the nature of an archer - fighting from a distance. Bounty hunter's nature is to be able to find that which may be hidden to others and collect it. warsmith nature is to craft a variety of items for others to be able to use. Yet, with each new incarnation of lineage, the dwarven race is further and further restricted and relegated to the nearly 'useless' catagories.
How are spoil and drop tables defined?
Hm... My question:

How about adding Offline Private Store feature?
Question: When will they consider a relaxed server and a Non PVP servers for Lineage II NA?

I feel it would bring in a lot of new customers and bring back a lot of the older ones.

yeah, NON PVP Server Could be very very nice :) ...look stress fre playing and dont wary about PKers...

BTW now itsa time for my QUESTION

When DEVS/ DEV TEAM close, block all CHINA and KR IP ..cus all ..most of them [ 99%] are from those Countries.

Cus its NA...Americans /USA servers. KR and China Boys got their own servers .
this is also against the rules and regularations(spelling :() ) but they are still out here, for sure. Take action! Send the farmers back to "their" cornfields :)

Are you makeing anything to promote lineage2 on more magazines, ezines?

I think he was talking about the idea that the North American Servers are separate from other Foreign official game servers.
Why are so many of the new, high level areas positively dull compared to newbie areas?

Example: All the catacombs/necros have the same exact design. Levelling pens as it were. Imperial tomb is like a big catacomb, blue uniform stone. The Rift is like this as well. Low places such as cave of trials, Forgotten Temple, Garden of Eva, Elven Ruins are just AMAZING in comparision. Seems like some of the other areas were just 'mass produced'.
Why do no mobs above lvl 60 spoil basic materials like animal bone, varnish, iron ore, cbp...
Do you plan on fixing the myriad of exploits and bad design that make the Olympiad absolutely pointless on the North American servers?

It's designed for 1000 people to compete right now and most of our servers barely have 100, half of which are European and therefore suffer even more so.
Hmm, ? for the developers...
In regards to market 'correction'. Is there any reason that dwarven scavengers can't/haven't/won't be given the ability to 'dissassmble' or 'scav' existing items for a portion or percentage of the available materials(percent chance at a certain percentage of comprising base mats)? This would effectively correct or limit inflation problems in the markets that prevent new players from being successful, while leaving the market 'open'.
I would like to ask:

Q1: Are you thinking of remaking some really good items in game for example (S grade) to bind on players or an alliance lets say, (like in WoW where the best items are bind on pickup), this could be used more or less on raids where u can eliminate RaidBoss farmers (or at least the highest bosses). Then they cant sell it cause its binded on their clan/ally.

(I know this can lead to many questions like: what about mixed raids etc ... but maybe wanna see the response :) ).

Q2:Are you planning to raise a lvl cap once more? in C5 its 80 and we dont have skills for those lvl (yet).
Another question,

It seems that the Japanese site has a date for C5 listed. This brings up an important point as we here in North America constantly feel that we are an afterthought with regards to information.

We always have to make guesses about what is happening in the game, rely upon rumor, or the few people who are nice enough to translate information from the korean sites.

So... Question: Why can't we in the North American market be privy to the same information that other markets seem to have. Are you aware that the north american players do feel like we are second class citizens and if so, what do you feel you can do about this in order to change this perception?
